But I have always liked Saab, and I think it is a shame that they are not around anymore..
As a Saab fanatic I'd like to thank Kyle for doing more Saab videos lately & to clear up some misconceptions about this vehicle. The 9-4X is NOT a rebadged Cadillac. GM handed development of the Theta Premium platform over to Saab with the understanding that GM would then build a "sister" model from Saab's final design. The only reason the SRX was introduced first was because Saab was put in limbo when GM went into bankruptcy & production @ Saab stopped. So if anything the SRX is a rebadged Saab
I'm actually gonna say that this is the coolest, and most beautiful SUV i have seen in a looooong time!!! :D Btw, a veeery good review Kyle!! Keep up the good work!! ;)
@@andrewn.caldwell6218 The owner is in economic troubles and the factory/R&D in Trollhättan is to be closed. Only 21 NEVS 9-3 were ever registered (2018-2021). Many of the people that worked at the development on SAAB went to Volvo after the bankrupcy of SAAB and NEVS having troubles in the beginning
I have to say, Saab has made some great vehicles but I'm not sure I could ever get on board with the newer Saabs. When I see this car I see basically a standard GM radio, GM chime, GM turn signal stalk and usb/aux port as well as various other GM switch gear, which I think takes away from the vehicle. What is Saab about this, the badges, night panel, the weird vents and the center mounted ignition? I personally don't want my luxury Swedish vehicle sounding like my old Chevy Cavalier when I turn the key on.
I love my Lexus RX 450h, it's a beautiful vehicle to drive. I've had Saabs too and as much as I love my Lexus, I couldn't really go past a new Saab 9-4. Yes GM gave up on the budget challenged Saab engineers who have always wanted to employ their own ideas regardless of the cost (that was one of the reasons Saab stood out in the first place). Let's hope Trollhattan comes up with some news, perhaps on a new version 9-4x Aero. 2016-17.
And guys, Saab is no longer owned by GM. Saab was owned by GM from 1989-2010 so if you say that GM ruined Saab... They have owned Saab since 1989... Also, if you're wondering about OnStar, which is owned by GM, it is to my knowledge that GM allowed Saab to keep their OnStar systems since GM was planning the, now released, OnStar FMV system. Which by the way, if you didn't know, allows anyone with a compatible car, have OnStar. Anyways, Kyle, another great video, keep it up!
Beautiful car! Maybe they're not the best luxury cars money can buy, but I really hope Saab can keep their head above water because their newer cars like this and the 9-5 look REALLY nice.
It's strange, but what a split aesthetic character this vehicle has! The exterior styling isn't particularly bad, it's more like unremarkable. Specially the rear styling looks tired. However the interior feels just right. Sure the whiners may complain about this or that surface looking too 'plasticky', yet in its entirety the interior has a certain understated elegance. Indeed those well selected colours help to create a certain charming, Nordic atmosphere to the cabinspace.
I'm glad to see that Saab is still around. And am lookifn forward to seeing what Spyker has to do. You have to own one or drive one to appreciate them, especially the older models. They're a great alternative to BMWs, Mercedes, or Audis, yeah they're all nice, but EVERYONE has them! Saabs are for people who want to be different.
@KreativeM5 The green lighting is supposed to represent the aerospace origins of Saab. The automotive division is just a part of Saab since the company also makes fighter jets, radar systems, and other military equipment. That's why their cars have those funky interiors which look similar to a cockpit.
Very nice car, Saab's are great cars and run forever if maintained. I like the 4 cyl with turbo that little 2.0 has all the guts You would ever need. Great video Kyle.
My friend owns a 9-4x Aero with minor front end damage. The parts that need to be replaced are, front bumper, headlights and fog lamps. Insurance company totaled the vehicle as they couldn't find parts. Any chance of getting these parts? Seems a waste to total a car with such minor damage :(
5:11 Why do I get a feeling that this engine compartment is roomy and service friendly? :) It looks like it wouldn't be horrible to maintain or work with it.
As expected from a Swedish car manufacturer. Swedish cars are luxurious and tech savvy at the same time. German cars get too much recognition nowadays, while Swedish cars are always unappriciated ( although Swedish cars are better made and more reliable most of the time). There is a good reason why Volvo sales are booming in China. Saab is just so incredible.
@flypunk90 Technically Saabs have XWD (Cross Wheel Drive) and it's an option. The base comes with FWD. This is the 9-4X Premium which is basically a nicely equipped base model.
hmm, i guess it does look like the SRX a bit. But i was thinking maybe since the Saab 9-7X was based of the Chevy Trailblazer that this one was based off another vehicle as well
SAABs are artistically designed and creatively engineered with a certain "uniqueness" that can only be SAAB. Designed for the driver, the feeling of flying a jet, can only be in a SAAB. The last "True and Different" brand of excellence.
it kinda surprises me how the cadillac srx is one of cadillac's best sellers yet the saab 9-4x hardly got any sales considering that it shares like 90% of the cadillac srx's features.
@wil48823 I completely agree with everything you are saying except with one thing. Wouldn't neither car be considered 'rebadged' since Saab was once owned by GM?
I wish Saab was still around. They made high quality, decently priced cars.
+Josh Mckinnley And interesting cars..Too many cars are just the same nowadays.. Even though they had to use so many GM parts, they still managed to give their cars a personality.. They had so many good thoughts and ideas, and gm acted like dicks and just wanted to shut down the company.
Josh Mckinnley why isn't Saab around anymore
feodo 911 rude I'm reporting you to UA-cam
Evelyn quintero what did he say?

SMTPlayaNifera YASSSSS @dougdemuro
why
Alice in Chains playing on the radio. Nice saab.
The 9-3 is going to be produced by NEVS under the SAAB brand in Trollhättan until their own model is finished.
True :-)
That did not really workout
Yeah, it's rumored that they might go bankrupt..

It feels like so long since Saab went bankrupt, I don't even remember seeing those things or hearing about them.
FanaticGuide's Video Game LP's and more... Saab only produced 457 examples of the 9-4x before they went bankrupt.
Jmcuoco 99
My god that's not very many, just compare that to how many CRVs Honda sells per year
I saw one in Seattle a few months ago and grabbed a photo. It's surprising that this mundane crossover is rarer than most modern Ferraris.
+Jmcuoco 99 I seen one in Pennsylvania, and I was very suprised to see one! Would love to have one of these cars..
Recently I saw one in my hometown. I got really excited and nobody else in the car knew why.

Drewrob26 Caveliers have this chime?
Yep, GM ownership and total lack of ideas of what to do with the brand killed Saab.
Did you compared a old Chevrolet Cavalier with a SAAB's model, your comparation didn't have any sense... okay GM hater..
Kyle, at the 5:25 mark you say that this is front wheel drive! The 'X' following the 9-4 tells you that this is all wheel drive.
I love my Lexus RX 450h, it's a beautiful vehicle to drive. I've had Saabs too and as much as I love my Lexus, I couldn't really go past a new Saab 9-4.

Saabs we’re actually really good cars I really wish they were still around along with all the other discontinued car brands in America
Man, these Saabs have aged well. Still would fit in if this car was sold Brand New in 2020
My favorite Saab.
I'd gladly drive this. Radio looks terrible so a nav is a must. Great job as always Kyle. We appreciate all you do.

I have a Saab love it. Ride good. The only one that have one where I live...
I think I found my new dream suv, this thing is nice!!
Nice walk around. I bought a Silver Premium this weekend.
Holy cow I was just listening to Rooster before checking out this vid! Great vid Kyle!
R.I.P SAAB *♡*
Saabs are such highly underrated cars!
Sorry to say I believe this vehicle is Saab's last breath. Great vid as always
Omg... I didn't know, that this car exists, but i'm glad i do.

Still making the best car videos!!
This car is really very nice. I hope more people realize this and buy Saab.
Well, so much for that.
wow! saabkyle04 is finally reviewing a Saab!!!
Put MPG nd pice tag next review nd ur the best review channel for cars
That car is so rare
yeah, only 814 were built before Saab's bankruptcy
@@mrtn8628 Yeah Its such a shame seeing such a good car company killed. I would buy a Saab over any luxury car.
Love this video I don't know how many tips I have watched this!! :) Saab

R Feyman it's hard since the fact they only produced 300 of these but u could of found at Saab original parts
i really like the turbo ones they seem so slickkkk
They're back!!!!!!
I like this car. I don't know why Saab isn't popular.
Im getting one but its an aero version so exciting.
Saab autos didn't just go out of business in America, they went bust. That's only the Saab car side of it though. Saab as a company still exists.
at 8:55 that song was Rooster by Alice in Chains ... loving that song !
@2002montero if you have the lights on, and activate the water for the windshield washers the headlight washer also activates
i hope someone brought this car in PH.
i've seen one here but it's the SAAB 900
Future Car! :D
dont worry. they are coming back
alexandru vrabie I doubt that
MIAM well there were some news that saab might make a comeback...unfortuntly it all went downside
I know I was hopeful for the come back as well but by the looks of things now that ain't gonna ever happen
I die everytime you do the SmartKey demo.... hahaha!
The 9-5 Areo had a slow Chevy chime. I like the fast chime This one has. This car look very decent.
saab did the taillight thing how many years ago, not talking ab 9000 but 95,94, now everybody does led bar in the bacj
love ur vids kyle
The 97 x may have been a trailblazer.. but this looks directly inspired by a Caddy Srx
5:11 Why do I get a feeling that this engine compartment is roomy and service friendly? :) It looks like it wouldn't be horrible to maintain or work with it.
I like how they have designed the handle in the boot floor to look like an aeroplane
hey nice vid! can you do the aero model next?
Besides the engine choices, does it come with available XWD, and also does it have available Navigation system?

Really like that interior.
can u do a Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Tour of the 2011 lexus lx 570?cause the other one was just detailing so piz?

Ahhh buttons and dials, i'll take those over a touch screen and day!
Awesome Kyle! :)
I love his voice
I love the interior!
I hope SAAB doesn't die. Without the bad GM relationship, I want to see true swedish SAAB designs back.
11 years later and, well...
Wow I have never seen this one.....beautiful
very nice car and review
To me, Saabs are beautiful cars.
One of these actually passed me on the highway here in Sweden a while back. Kinda strange because I havent heard of any being sold here. Oh well.
Saab didn't sell many of these
Alexander Harlow SAAB didn't make many of these to sell. To my knowledge, less than 2000 total 9-4x's were made.
This car was sold only a couple months
All your videos are great !! just u need to check out the Performance
what chevy counterpart is this? I can't think of it. Equinox maybe?
hmm, i guess it does look like the SRX a bit. But i was thinking maybe since the Saab 9-7X was based of the Chevy Trailblazer that this one was based off another vehicle as well

Beautiful Vehicle...inside and out....i Love SAAB's.
even though I don't like gm's influence on saab this vehicle is really nice
Hey i am just wondering how long does it take u to upload the video this long?
Hey Kyle, can you do a review on the E-Class Benz?? Please man!! or even an AMG?
i thought SAAB was dead. YES!!!! THEY STILL LIVE
Never will buy GM because of what they did to Saab
This is why I'm getting a MINI
spirit of mini is kiled by BMW, saab was kiled by own decisions GM give a technology and saab modded almost everything
Lovely car! Owns one my self. A 9-4X Aero-11 ;)
it kinda surprises me how the cadillac srx is one of cadillac's best sellers yet the saab 9-4x hardly got any sales considering that it shares like 90% of the cadillac srx's features.
so strange to see so many parts shared with my 2011 Vauxhall Astra.... same centre display, steering wheel etc
This thing makes the Corolla look like a cool car.
@wil48823 I completely agree with everything you are saying except with one thing. Wouldn't neither car be considered 'rebadged' since Saab was once owned by GM?
This car is beautiful!!
I hated the old 9-7x, this 9-4x looks really, really desirable.
Kyle, why you always push two times de key button?
Was this only available in US
You should do a review on the new ford taurus
@saabkyle04 kyle can you make a video for kia sorento 2011-2012 its kind same as this saab
the 2011-present Saab 9-4x is assembled in
Ramos Arizpe, Mexico
Actually the Saab 9-4x is built in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico alongside the Cadillac SRX
I am a hard core Mopar guy and there are only two other car brands I like that are not Chrysler brands that's MINI and Saab its a shame gm killed Saab
Well I think when Gm pulled out the brand Spyker bailed them out for a while then they killed them
So beautiful!!! Nice car. :)
does this car have no fog lamps for the front and the back? Don't you need any fog lamps in the US?
Fog lamps aren't really necessary for the most part. They are mainly on cars for looks.
To be honest, I thought that looked like halogen projector headlights rather than HIDs. =)
They r so ahead, but they need to work on the back exterior, amazing cars TBH
i like the new saabs, but i do not like the green interior dash lighting... good review kyle...:D
Pretty cool car!!
