The one you found in hell in Kadingir Sanctum is actually a secret. As you'll be able to recall it also features a Commander Keen easter egg. This one was found pretty early in in the level Argent Facility (Destroyed), the level directly after Kadingir Sanctum. You start the level off by climbing a building. After dropping down into a broken bridge with a dead elite guard carrying a praetor token you'll proceed to a room with a console you have to access. In that room you'll find the Delta 12 chaingun, if you've missed it in hell. At 3:55: ua-cam.com/video/6Bje_m4iXD8/v-deo.html
True, however that's not why I've posted this comment. Actually, I've made this for myself. I'm a sound effects guy and have extracted all the sounds of this game. Having time code references like that makes archiving sounds a lot easier. Upon extraction the files are given a name based on the bnk-file combined with a 10 digit number. For example the single player weapon sound folder includes 1,7k files. Finding specific sound effects takes a lot of time, so if I can save it with a reference video like this I might as well do so.
The animations in this game are slick on a whole 'nother level and full of these tiny little details! Like the sheer terror on an Imp's face right before a glory kill and the small camera movements like how Doomguy looks at a dead body when Samuel Hayden says "it was for the betterment of mankind.." or how he pauses to look at the Argent Tower as if to think whether destroying mankind's primary source of energy is worth putting an end to the demons and then destroys it without hesitation. On the surface it may seem as though he's one-dimensional, fueled by pure rage but the animations add so much nuance. Doomguy has more personality than most fully voiced protagonists and that says something about the master animators at ID Software
in a way yes but hte jump boots don't incase your entire feet and shins they are worn outside of hte suit, the multigun minigun attachment is my favorite, you can mow down anything that isn't a baron of hell

Carlos Adelantar I noticed the detail while playing that if the dead guy was armoured - like the Elite Guards, Doomguy got the upgrade chips or weapons from them with relative respectful movements. However, scientist corpses, demons, weaklings that didn't go down fighting? Doesn't give a crap if he mutilates the body further. So he respects fellow warriors, but nobody else
When I got the chaingun mobile turret upgrade, engaging it for the first time was so badass. felt totally out of a sci-fi movie, triple barrels, insane firepower.
I actually wished it was one of those old WW2 shotguns. UAC rocks it with their future technology, but killing half of hell with a _World War 2_ weapon would be kind of satisfying.
YES. :D Many of them were underwhelming at first... especially the BFG. But they eventually just grew on me. I suppose part of it is psychology, as I slowly associated the sound of the new BFG with the awesome destructive power of the BFG. Not to mention, I actually liked that they didn't go super overboard with many of the sounds. Many things in real life don't need to *sound* like they can kill a bunch of stuff in order to *actually* be able to kill a bunch of stuff. It's much more realistic that way. When you hear the sound of the BFG later, you know something's going down... and you're left tingly with excitement. :D
Especially the super shotgun in my opinion...the boom on that baby is the reason i put my headset to the fullest...also the same with the assault rifle which also sounds bad ass.😎
2:45 The way Doomguy cradles it like a baby when they fall, the fear of losing the BFG shown when the first thing he does when he lands is to make sure he still has it.
I think the chainsaw one's my favorite. The tiny shrug like "Fuck it, why not?" It leaned on the 4th wall a bit but it was just a quick subtle nod rather than shoving your face in it.
You never really stop to think about what happened to the people he picked up the weapons from. For instance the previous Super Shot Gun owner obviously committed suicide but Doom Guy just picks up the shot gun, ejects the spent shells, puts in new ones, and walks away like nothing happened
LightningBlazeGaming doom guy has seen a lot of things worse than that i can tell he holds deep respect for the soldiers that died in battle. but once you see a lot of death even have you're comrads die? it just... doesn't effect you anymore...

You know how the helmet automatically blocked out sound until it's inbuilt microphone kicked in? That means all these weapon sounds are automatically singled out by the helmet and inputted directly into the audio feed. Because that's the type of detail fetish that UAC would be into.

Noooooot even close. This is a reboot, the Doomslayer is a separate person from the Doomguy, if not equally badass. Doomslayer's armor was forged by a traitor in the demon ranks, to make him even more effective against his brethren.
Yeah, and combine that with a rune that let's you fire unlimited ammo as long as your armor is above a certain percentage. That combination is fucking brutal.
I love the weapon pick ups in this game more than DOOM: Eternal because it makes it seem more authentic but it’s pretty cool how certain weapons are unique in there own way

+I'm Gay You didn't get the Evil Dead reference, did you? That's literally what Ash (the main guy of the Evil Dead series) said when he sawed the barrels of his shotgun in the second film.
I think the biggest hint that the slayer is doom guy is the most simplest one. In most of these pick up animations, where applicable, the slayer's finger is off the trigger.
1:57 Groovy. Also, too bad the BFG doesn't have any mods. I would love to see it maybe shoot out a continuous beam of pure energy. But then again it's probably maxed out to be awesome anyway.
What I really love about doom is that absolutely EVERY weapon is useful, first time I hit up the new doom, I immediately started playing at the hardest difficulty, not gonna like, I died like a muppet soo many times, but every gun was so useful and I every gun had a specific scenario where it absolutely dominated, unlike in the first dooms where the handgun and minigun were basically no better than punching.
The slayer is not all hate and ultra violence, he loves to admire the craftsmanship of both hightech and oldschool weapons he loves specially to see them in action
I came here because it felt weird to me that all weapons had an actual animation of being picked up, while the rocket launcher is already held in DoomGuys hands
DrIvanRadosivic That sounded like a generic fps survival game, no offense. Doom is about a one man army man turned demigod aka DoomSlayer who kicks ass in Hell and Earth, not some Left 4 Dead with a Doom skin. The chainsaw (and his fists) are the melee weapons he need, nothing more, nothing less. Knives and batons=too military fps generic, fireaxes= idk where you found that idea.
BallisticSentinel But we do. I thought doom 3 was a blast, and since it is still ID's best selling game to date, i'd say other people think the same. Or, maybe i like it so much because i wanted to play it since i was like 3 and simply couldn't dislike it once i finally got it. Either way, a back and forth between OG doom and slow, creepy doom would be cool.
im pretty sure there is a unique animation for the first time you buy a weapon mod, for some reason i distinctly remember buying the Gauss cannon upgrade and being able to see inside of it or something
I wonder how the plasma pistol operates. I played the old games but only watched gameplay of this new doom. I mean, plasma seems like a realistic weapon in the future and even NASA has looked into it. Imagine a medium velocity projectile with not only kinetic energy of a small caliber round but super heated properties to melt through armor and walls.
Vinx I'll look into it because a lot of games on a lot of different platforms use a plasma based weapon. My favorite being Halo. In 130 years guns will be similar to bows and arrows. Deadly and effective but outdated.
It uses a self-sustaining Argent Energy cell to compress up to 4 kilowatts of Argent Energy into a compressed and hardened Energy Matter Gel (EMG) slug, which is then launched at a very high velocity. This makes it work and feel like a traditional ballistic firearm. Imagine being able to do that with some of the other weapons... like the Heavy Assault Rifle, the Combat Shotgun, or the Chaingun... :D
It's not plasma, it's energy matter gel. It charges a battery with kinetic energy (doomguy runs as fast as a sports car, so that's no problem) and then argent energy shit compacts it into a gel, which is thrown out with magnets or something at top speed. It's not anti-armor, in fact every tier 3 member of the UAC is issued one. Anti-armor weapons are basically what the Mobile Turret Chaingun, Siege Mode Gauss Cannon, and BFG 9,000 are.
Doom Slayer's reaction to each weapon, based on these animations: Pistol: A bit smaller than I like, but you'll do. Combat Shotgun: Can't go wrong with the classics. Frag Grenades: This looks useful... Chainsaw: What the hell...? Eh, whatever, if it kills demons it'll do. HAR: Huh, heavy caliber, sturdy frame. Not bad... Plasma Rifle: Ooh, fancy! Let's see what you can do! Rocket Launcher: Well, a little extra boom never hurts. Super Shotgun: Haha, I missed you little fella. Jump Boots: A bit lighter than I thought they'd be. Huh. Gauss Cannon: Hmm, what does this button do? Chaingun: Yeah, now we're getting somewhere! BFG-9000: Heh, yeah, I missed you too big guy.
I love how lively this game is like when you pick up the painsaw it the top left corner it says, “go kick some ass” instead of it saying, “yUo PiCkEd Up ThE cHaInSaW” like other FPS games.
If i could pick any one of these weapons for keeps id go for the energy pistol that thing is a nifty little piece with unlimited ammo and it can shoot powered up rounds
I like how with the heavy assault rifle, instead of just ripping the rifle out of the dead guy hands he carefully takes it without disturbing the body too much
+Salty Nurd Sucks now? It's got the same rate of fire with lower damage, but the projectiles travel faster and it's weapon mods are much more useful for crowd control. It's still the Jack Of All Trades it used to be.
Salty Nurd I dunno man, it isn't chaingun levels of broken but the overheat effect is really satisfying to use if you are the kind of player that goes balls deep into a croud. Outside of the exploding shotgun it is as the fastest gun to upgrade to its full potential and the third most useful for direct combat.
I wish the mods would stay on the guns and you could swap between them without changing them. Would make them a lot cooler in my oppinion. You could even change faster between mods
Simple, there is the unmodded weapon, and 2 variants of the weapon, each with a mod equipped. Imagine that instead of having 2 variants of the weapon, you get a single weapon with both mods equipped. And instead of changing from mod A to mod B, by actually removing one and attaching the other, you just casually change it without any actual animation, just a button prompt that shows which of the mods is currently being used. Example: You have the HAR (heavy assault rifle), unmodded, and then you have the 2 variants, one with micro missiles, and the other with the optical scope. Now imagine both mods in the weapon at the same time, and there you go. I think it would make weapons look cooler.
KRIMZONMEKANISM I actually did consider that earlier today. And it would make everything much more fluid and fast-paced... At least I wouldn't die from a mod switch on Ultra-violence.
I agree in a way. Maybe the problem could be solved if these useless mods were turned into a special firing mode altogther. Example: instead of Combat Shotgun just capping its fire rate when holding the trigger, holding it would charge the 3 round burst. After letting it go, it would fire the 3 rounds and there would be a cool down. Meanwhile, you can still use the mod with alternate for firing the grenade launcher The same could be applied to the Pistol, Gauss Cannon and Rocket Launcher: -Holding the down the fire button charges the shot for the pistol. You can still zoom in with the weapon but it won't charge the shot. -Holding the fire button charges the Siege Mode shot. Whereas you can still ADS (aim down sight) with the Precision Bolt, using alternate fire, to save up ammo and deal more damage for long range lone targets. -Firing a single rocket would still be possible to detonate mid air with the alternate fire. But if you hold the fire button it use the Lock-On burst. I'm not sure what would be of the other weapons that have automatic fire, like the Chaingun, HAR, or Plasma Rifle though. I mean let's be honest, nobody really uses anything other than the Turret mode for the Chaingun, Micro-Missiles for the HAR, or Stun Bomb for the Plasma Rifle. Maybe just boosting certain attributes for these weapons while shooting normally would be nice? Like Penetrative bullets and faster chain speed for Chaingun, more damage per headshots for the HAR, and a small AOE blast for each shot of the Plasma Rifle?
I actually never use the stun bomb, I find the blast to be much more useful in clearing space when you get crowded, and it's just extra damage when its fully upgraded seeing as you don't even have to fire to change it up.
The Wierd everyone who lives under a rock and thus somehow doesnt know the reboot of one of the most successful games of its time and the grandfather of the fps genre. Literally the original Doom (released late 1993) had more installations in 1995 than fucking Windows 95
U know. There is some satisfaction when u hear the sound effects of Doom examining the gun when he first gets it. Or hell, even when he apply's the mods on the gun.
I noticed the tiniest detail about the jump boots. They actually make the Doomslayer slightly taller in game. Like, the camera is actually higher up than before you put on the jump boots.
Once you pick up the chainsaw, the Weapons Codex updates and states that it was smuggled onto Mars and is considered a black market weapon by the UAC because there is no reason for it to be there as they have more efficient tools for its purpose. It even says that UAC security are ordered to find and confiscate it. And we all saw how that effort went...
Someone smuggled it up there in case he needed to rip and tear, Doomguy-style, and kill some zombies dead. He certainly managed to take at least ONE zombie with him, at least!
When i pick up weapons from corpses in doom 4, i have a weird and creepy feeling that those corpses are gonna get back to live and grab me or something. Its creepy as fuck.

That's not a gun
@@bakedcrystal915 shut up
The man treats his guns like a boy treats his Christmas gifts. The joy. The impatience to try them out. The satisfaction.
this is so fucking satisfying
They did a really good job with the aspects and the details of those weapons
*Gently picks up, inspects and interacts new weapon...*
turret mod + unlimited ammo + no overheat = "meh sweep thru lvl so fast"
The ultimate broomstick ^^
I think the biggest hint that the slayer is doom guy is the most simplest one. In most of these pick up animations, where applicable, the slayer's finger is off the trigger.
3:47 oh Jesus
doom:SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIENDS
1:57 Groovy.
Also, too bad the BFG doesn't have any mods. I would love to see it maybe shoot out a continuous beam of pure energy.
But then again it's probably maxed out to be awesome anyway.
Bro predicted the unmakyr
What I really love about doom is that absolutely EVERY weapon is useful, first time I hit up the new doom, I immediately started playing at the hardest difficulty, not gonna like, I died like a muppet soo many times, but every gun was so useful and I every gun had a specific scenario where it absolutely dominated, unlike in the first dooms where the handgun and minigun were basically no better than punching.
Most iconic of doom game
Fastest walk ever
The slayer is not all hate and ultra violence, he loves to admire the craftsmanship of both hightech and oldschool weapons he loves specially to see them in action
I came here because it felt weird to me that all weapons had an actual animation of being picked up, while the rocket launcher is already held in DoomGuys hands
Ok so you actually do get the full animation if you pick it up from a dead body in a later mission
is it just me because each and every Bethesda hero love big weapons
Size doesn't matter ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It's about the way you use it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Filip Pham But in doom guys case, he doesnt need to compensate for both
Diddly Doo Oh my, so you've seen his? What's it like? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) tell me all about it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
to be fair have you seen what doom guy is hunting? it's not exactly small game. he's fighting giant space demons.
Filip Pham enough to kill a single demon
stronger than a 50. caliber bullet
tough enough to kick evil arse
Damn, this is such an ear candy.
we need a Doom 5,
the only one Mr Z
Soon ;3;
we need another Doom 3 type doom
a single player story with the UAC Security Guards Perspective
+Elfish Gaming Hopefully we Do
+Elfish Gaming
No we don't. That's boring and way too dark.
Idk why I'm replying to a 4yrold comment but yes you're right. When you switch mods for a weapon it plays an animation of doom slayer equipping it.
One of the most satisfying weapon pickups in games. Every pick up felt like opening christmas present.
Aaron Luna The in game text says that this version uses Argent Energy to constantly charge the weapon.
BallisticSentinel Damn. The magnet part makes sense.
This game has some of the best hand animations I've seen in a game in some time.
Who prefer the Doom 2016 animations over Doom Eternal's ones?
I do boi
wow, thank for uploading this kind of video. hope for a 1080 ver.
BFG-9000 = Big Fucking Gun 9000
Hakageryuu thank you i feel relieved 😂
Doom Slayer's reaction to each weapon, based on these animations:
Pistol: A bit smaller than I like, but you'll do.
4:02 I think I fell in love
I love how lively this game is like when you pick up the painsaw it the top left corner it says, “go kick some ass” instead of it saying, “yUo PiCkEd Up ThE cHaInSaW” like other FPS games.
Err... Excuse me... You forgot the manliest weapon in the game: His Fists
*Rips and tears In rage power-up*
0:59 The DOOM guys is so badass he can pull start a chainsaw cold in one go!
I've always wondered who the dead soldiers are that he's taking the weapons from. Were they good guys or bad?
NEVER
Ayy Lmao they're actually part of the good guys.
There are few "good guys" in this game. Maybe mislead neutral guys.
They must've probably been the guards of the facility. The deceased ones must've not survived the demonic invasion.
Pick Up Animations and examinations of weapons is fun to watch in video games.
If i could pick any one of these weapons for keeps id go for the energy pistol that thing is a nifty little piece with unlimited ammo and it can shoot powered up rounds
I like how with the heavy assault rifle, instead of just ripping the rifle out of the dead guy hands he carefully takes it without disturbing the body too much
Rocket Raccoon picks up BFG: Oh... yeah
I've been in love with the plasma rifle since the very first doom.
to bad it sucks now
+Salty Nurd
Sucks now? It's got the same rate of fire with lower damage, but the projectiles travel faster and it's weapon mods are much more useful for crowd control. It's still the Jack Of All Trades it used to be.
Salty Nurd I dunno man, it isn't chaingun levels of broken but the overheat effect is really satisfying to use if you are the kind of player that goes balls deep into a croud.
Outside of the exploding shotgun it is as the fastest gun to upgrade to its full potential and the third most useful for direct combat.
proudest. fap. ever.
lil_Raryy WTF
lil_Raryy lmao same
I like how the gauss cannon looks like a high-end graphics card.
I wish the mods would stay on the guns and you could swap between them without changing them. Would make them a lot cooler in my oppinion.
You could even change faster between mods
Uh, what?
Meanwhile, you can still use the mod with alternate for firing the grenade launcher
The same could be applied to the Pistol, Gauss Cannon and Rocket Launcher:
-Holding the down the fire button charges the shot for the pistol.
You really feel it when you pick up the guns
1:16 beautiful gun, i love design. S2
Christmas has come early for the Doom Slayer.
not gonna lie, i stained my pants a few times after getting the Super Shotgun.
These were so much more creative than Doom Eternal.
I bet doom guy was very happy to get the chainsaw
2:53 "Ow, fuck. WAIT, IS THE GUN OKAY?! Okay, good."
who doesn't know this game but come to watch
The Wierd everyone who lives under a rock and thus somehow doesnt know the reboot of one of the most successful games of its time and the grandfather of the fps genre. Literally the original Doom (released late 1993) had more installations in 1995 than fucking Windows 95
for some reason, the "chk chk" sound of the weapons are so satisfying
im glad they kept the good ol double barrel while all the other weapons are pretty much some scifi shit
true, however it does look a bit weird, on second thought what were they doing with chainsaws on mars lol?
theblackbull55 and the chain gun and the machine gun?
Don´t change what already is perfect.
I like how most Lets Players are like 'Oh, what? Is that it? I'm playing now?!' when they get the pistol.
This is so much better than running over a floating, stupid green icon...
U know. There is some satisfaction when u hear the sound effects of Doom examining the gun when he first gets it. Or hell, even when he apply's the mods on the gun.
BIG FUCKING GUN.
these guns are better fleshed out characters than many other game s protagonists.amazing what good animations and sound design can do
You included the jump Boots? Really? I mean I knew the grenade was gonna be there. BUT THE JUMP BOOTS??
I noticed the tiniest detail about the jump boots. They actually make the Doomslayer slightly taller in game. Like, the camera is actually higher up than before you put on the jump boots.
Imagine him walking around with a lot of guns haging on his body
If you a actually use the gatling rotor on the chaingun you are playing the game wrong
After watching this again I'd say the most unrealistic weapon is the chainsaw that turns on with one pull of the cord.
The handgun look like the dominator from psycho pass
halo1179 right. Unfortunately we can't one shot an Imp into a massive stain on the floor/walls. That's what his fists are for.
TheWarriorPriest guess your right
This right here is a true gamer
You know, I just realized something.
Why would someone bring a chainsaw on Mars? There's no tree up there, and nothing seems to be made out of wood.
HYPETAUR THE HYPE CACTUAR! Play doom 3 it explains its for certain maintenance issues i think
HYPETAUR THE HYPE CACTUAR! Thick cables needing to be cut, but not much else.
Doom 2016 logic
Finds himself on mars
Finds no trees but finds a chainsaw (FACEPALM)
3:03 The Big Fucking Gun made it into the reboot! Yeah!
I have a question, where does he stash his weapons?
Up his ass
He got some man who bring his weapons
Christian Pacle the canon explanation is a backpack with a pocket dimension in it
I dont know... Maybe he holsters it in some areas?
When i pick up weapons from corpses in doom 4, i have a weird and creepy feeling that those corpses are gonna get back to live and grab me or something. Its creepy as fuck.
