Doom 2016 in my opinion has better designs for the demons. They look so organic and fleshy
Eternal was going for a classic look, not a super high detail look. (i think)
@@masemanfunstuff2337 Yeah. I can tell that was what they were going for. I still prefer 2016’s more gritty and scary designs but Eternal definitely does give off classic DOOM vibes

In the original games the hell knight was basically just a brown baron that was a bit smaller and weaker werent they? There were slight differences in the model but not a lot from wut i saw

Eternal’s designs are worse than 2016’s as the eternal had a lot more demons per fight than 2016 and needed to perform better. Baron of hell is better tho
Except this is just plain wrong, there's a video that compares closely 2016 and eternal monsters and I think except for the revenant every monster in eternal is way more detailed. Why would they need to make the enemies look worse to make the game perform better when they're adding new gore mechanics for every single enemy to every bullet you fire into them

Doom classic monsters somewhat looks scary in a psychological way. They look like twisted mutilated deformed humans.
My first doom game is The plutonia experiment, I was like 9 years old, the scariest level at that time was MAP11: Hunted.
The scariest demon monster to me is Tyrese Gibson 😊😅😂.
2016 definitely looks better than Eternal although Lost Soul & Tyrant wasn't so bad.

They improved all of the designs except for the baron of hell. The 2016 baron is far better looking than eternals with the blades. Why have a baron of hell with blades when you already had the dread knight which has blades? Just my opinion both badass games.
like the only thing that I hate in eternal is the mancubus design doom 2016 mancubi looked way more better

in doom eternal the devs went to recreating the classic style demons and they remade cyberdemon from the classic doom and renamed it to tyrant
Because the cyberdemon in 2016 is already dead they literally cannot bring him back
Icl the tyrant looks way more unique than the bland cyberdemon

The original doom designs were trying to make something scary with what little technology they had at the time and doom 2016 does the same (but with better tech this time), but doom eternal harkins back to the originals but just ends up looking more cartoonish and goofy and I can't say I like it over the 2016 version.

@@feltycomic8558 I agree, 2016's art focused more on atmosphere and immersion while Eternal had a more arcade-ish direction hence the designs of the demons being sort of less detailed.
