The Doom Marine was originally a human from Earth who served in the Marines and was dishonorably discharged for assaulting his commanding officer after refusing to fire on a crowd of unarmed civilians. He was subsequently transferred to the UAC Phobos base as security. The Marine soon found himself trying to prevent the demons of Hell from invading Earth. After battling demonic hordes through Phobos, Deimos, and Hell, he returned home to find Earth overrun by demons. Among the billions killed were his family, including his pet rabbit Daisy, giving him further motivation to hunt the demons. He continued fighting the horde on Earth before taking the fight to Hell once more.

If you're wondering why the demons didn't kill him while he was in sarcophagus it's because they couldn't it is stated in the lore that even the most powerful of demons could not even scratch him
And yet he has demon claw marks on his skin if you have him wear his original doom armor. From where the demon grabbed him from the box art of the first game.

I like to think that he regrets that he couldn’t save his fellow night sentinels when they were all trapped in hell
I think the ones trapped in hell either died or became marauder’s later on. But yea I’d think he regret having to leave them to that fate.

@@CloroxBleach-qy7vyThe Marauders were the ones that sided with the Sentinel/Hell Priests and Maykrs. Night Sentinels that died fighting the demons can be found throughout the Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal missions in spirit form.
Not to mention that doom guy has seen earth get destroyed, saved humanity, and killed the icon of sin In TWO separate dimension. What a beast

Doom has an amazing story when you sit down and observe.
Did anyone ever explain where the slayer was after Doom 2016 and before Doom Eternal? I know he was sent away by Hayden but where and how did he get a tower In space?

He fought his way out of hell most likely, we know that he killed the first Hell Priests guardian, so maybe that has something to do with it

So i understood everything up to when the doom slayer killed the father or the creator or whatever his name was called and was sealed by the makers in a sarcophagus.
The slayer was imbued with davoth's energy using the divinity machine and as the slayer killed davoth his energy also died with him and the slayer was knocked out because his energy died with davoth's and the makers sealed him in a sarcophagus so that he can rest and once he is needed again they will set him free once more or something like that😅
(Also if you see some bad gramar that's because English isn't my first language)

Doom 3 is a separate universe I guess. Im ok with that. I love doom 3 but it's definitely a very different type of game compared to the rest of the series
Apparently, the id team wanted the first 2 games to be in the horror style of 3, but could only sort of give you the vibe bc of graphical limitations in 1993. 🤣
You can see it in the classic games I played as a kid in the flickering lights, demon breathing noises whenever they’re near in the background, and sudden ambushes, etc.

why do i feel like 99% of doom lore videos are exclusively about doom eternal and doom 2016?
Because they contain 99% of the actual lore. The first few games were just fun shooters, they started adding more actual lore later on.

Doom marine was transferred to an alternate universe after leaving hell after doom 64. There history repeated itself, uac experimenting on Mars, except now with a maykr manipulator, Hayden.
Between the choice to have all gameplay footage highly zoomed in, as well as the confusing experience of _both_ rewriting lore text whilst showing the original text onscreen, I was surprised to see this channel has 1.51m subscribers...

Am I the only one who thinks that there is an obvious change in writers between Doom 2016 and Eternal? There is just so many plot holes and things that just don't make sense between the two games. For example, Samuel Haydem would have NEVER commanded that we saccrafice VEGA in 2016 if he was the Saraphim and knew what VEGA "really was". The slayer also just backed up VEGA onto a thumb drive.... he backed up effectively God (or one of them) onto a thumb drive? Hayden didn't even tell him to do it or expect that he could. Then Hayden would never have lead the effort to get argent energy if he was who he was, let alone stolen the crucible and sent away doom guy at the end of the game. It just doesn't make sense. It's obvious that different writers took over.... in my opinion, to the detriment of the story as a whole.

Honestly, I've always liked the original story the best: regular marine, sent to phobos, hears all his buddies getting fragged by demons inside the base while he is alone securing the perimeter. Soon it's apparent he is the only one left, but all he's got is a pistol. The only way out is through, and all best weapons are inside. Here we go...
Its a more relatable story to an average person. You can believe you are the character you are playing inside that story.
Everything else, though awesome, just seems like a drawn out money maker in comparison. It has become a fantasy series.

It seems that the Demons and Doom got implicated and instigated against each other by another malicious entity to perpetuate the conflict, but they should have just been nice to Doom and he or she should have said hi and petted the demons or offered them a treat when going into the demons home, and they should have cooperated to resolve the problems, but they have assumed that they are enemies and made an arse out of themselves. Great game of course

So he fought demons on mars, went to earth, killed demons then onto hell to kill demons. Leaves, kills more demons in space, goes back to hell to kill even more demons, gets transported BACK TO EARTH by the demon leaders but goes straight back😂. Those demons were struggling😂😂😂
