Love these ride along videos Jen...The editing! The sound effects! The photos! Loving it all! That woman with the bananas sounded a bit 🍌's! Starbucks orders on Uber Eats completely dried up for me so I don't even work the mornings any more. My market is definitely going through some changes. A bun thief, this has me laughing 😆 I agree with you Jen, we all have our basic strategies and boundaries when it comes to working these apps, but if our market is dried up, we won't make the money and we need to go searching for it! This is slightly off-topic BUT I just want to say how much I love your outfits in each of your videos, you always look great and there is something about the way you present yourself that gives me motivation all on its own. it is very obvious that you care about the jobs you do and you and when you look presentable and put together I think it can prove beneficial in MANY ways! I am loving these vids! I just started Instacart in august! I just discovered your channel yesterday. I am eating these up! You have great batches. We don’t see this in northwest GA. I do love Costco batches but so often they are far away. I still take them however. I found you when looking for help when my my niece got deactivated for a perfectly fine selfie! She has bangs when she didn’t before! This is outrageous! She had just started and was loving it! I am considering trying to write to the person who handles her appeal to vouch for her. It’s ridiculous . They lost agood shopper.

Since nearly almost two month the batches had very low money that’s under $12 with more than 40 items, a lot of shop only with less money and more items. And I cant make enough money like before. I feel tired and week and bad,

This was so helpful in deciding on batches! But I realized your shopping speed is crazy fast compared to mine. I’m averaging 129 seconds per item now. Do you have any videos on how to cut that in half?
I'm in a fairly good market too and it has slowed down a lot. Lots and lots of no tip or little tips. Very frustrating 😕 lately. I'm hoping it's just the season. But I heard IC is going to be like shipt and customer tip after delivery. Come on I'm praying that isn't going to happen... Good to see you back Jen missed you...
Hi Penny! Yes, the tip thing is sporadic right now. The problem with Shipt is most Shipt shoppers will state, The tip is not guaranteed post delivery. This is beyond degrading and disheartening, in the very reason I haven’t worked on the platform yet. Thank you for being here!! Missed you too! Have a great weekend! 💛

I haven’t seen any messages on my app that tell me to go to a specific store to get more batches. That’s interesting. But it’s slim pickings where I am too. When I was with my mom where she lives for the holiday weekend I saw a few good batches but mostly terrible ones. And I only see one or two or three batches at a time or I see the no batches available screen.
It’s so annoying but I hope things turn around on Instacart soon❤️

I get those stupid messages to go to another store since the last app update. Only problem is they'll tell me to go somewhere that's not even in my zone! I do shop multiple zones but I'm not driving out of my way on the hopes that I might get a batch. So I ignore it.

Jen, these are similar to the batches I see in my area. So frustrating and I haven't been active on IC for weeks due to this. Hope it turns around soon.
What is the app you used in one of your videos to scan your receipts when you were done at the store? Do you keep that for your records or what reasons should we keep? Love your videos- new to your page and IC!
Hey Girl Hey 👋, Missed you Looking good in the yellow. Always Love watching your ride alongs. You should just do one of the food delivery apps only for one day.. I usually start my day with one IC order then do a food app (multi app) then my last order is IC. I've been averaging $150 to $200 a day. I stop focusing all on IC to much but I have been very successful at this technique. Chat with you later 😊 and thank you for being you 💜

Good morning Jen! Enjoy your channel and your candor. I am in Niagara Falls, ON and we are so overloaded with shoppers we don't see many good paying batches. Saturday was a no-go as there just weren't any batches. We also have Walmart.Ca orders up here which means the customer orders off Walmart's website and then they farm it out to Instacart. No Tip orders ever and they are sometimes huge orders. Anyways, hope you and your family are staying safe and may the batches be ever in your favour!
Holy cow. Instacart is doing Walmart? Seems to be that Walmart is using numerous apps/companies for their deliveries. They have their own called Spark. There's Point pickup which I tried and it was a terrible experience and I hear that Door dash is also doing their deliveries. So strange.
@@FG-yl3oj We can shop in-store for Instacart in my area and deliver direct. Then there are the Walmart.ca orders that we shop and deliver direct - NO TIP or communication with customer at all. In the GTA, they have delivery-only batches that can be done for a song as well.
You know my batch menu always says “come back and try again later” also when the batches do show up I have like 5 seconds or less to accept them anyone else experienced this??? thank you Jen another great video
Those screens at the beginning of the video are usual for my area...but yesterday I had a single order batch that was nearly 50.00. It was an easy order with a heavy lift bonus and travel bonus. Got it delivered 10 min before due time.

I love you so much and I’ve missed these types of videos from you, beautiful friend! ❤️ you are back to old Form and I love it, but I’m so sorry it’s slow, slower, slowest. It seems to be a nationwide thing that began once they unleashed the new algorithm, I don’t believe it’s terribly slower. I think that they’ve made it even easier for the new people to get the best batches and if they’ve also made it so that being a 4.95 isn’t as bad as it used to be. I only have 25 5 stars, in my area previously 40 was normal. I’ve heard your parent’s state is one of the worst for picking. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to unleash the pilot program with no tips. I hate Petco! You are such a rockstar ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ the 10 am Costco drop is terrible here now! Only the bots get those it would seem.
Jen how many 5 stars you have does not affect the batches you see. The less people to rate you equals less chances for a bad rating which is a good thing. I agree with knowing your market I could not take the batches you take to much work for low pay and it would not pay my bills unless I worked everyday all day. I guess I'm lucky to be able to do 80 dollar batches with 30 items.
Great video Jen! 💃Love the sound effects 🐸 I have also been away for 2 weeks! 😳 I was very excited to try instacart yesterday, I did some cherry picking and ended up with only one batch but it was a very small batch with a large tip then I decided there was nothing worth it went home due to a big thunderstorm coming and of course then I started receiving quite a few good batches! 🤔 I honestly think that instacart punishes those of us who take time off in some way? 😔 I will say that I think the holiday has something to do with it, I always deliver all night batches in insulated bags sometimes up to eight of them! 👯 I always take the photo in the bags and people always comment about how pretty they are LOL ✨ of course I do carry most of them in one trip which is probably why my body is always aching after I do instacart 🤭 it was super scary with hardly any batches available and I was comforting myself that I have been working another job part-time. I'm super excited to try tomorrow! Especially because it's supposed to be super bad weather and of course that's when the batches will probably roll in 🙃 I'm committed to trying all weekend and give it everything I got just to see if my theory is true! 🧚 I don't get the suggestions about which store to go to yet, that'll be interesting! 👯 I have changed my favorite store to stop and shop in Sturbridge because I can bag myself and bad the way I like, so I seem to sit in that parking lot a lot🤳 my old favorite Big y is now my second choice due to having to have baggers all the time and the stress of having to keep my eye on them 🧐 it seems like I just shot those two stores out here in the Sturbridge area now. I have become very selective thanks to you! 🧚 We have a size here that is always a nightmare and I think I have finally learned my lesson about going there 🙂 it definitely seems to have changed but yet a lot of the customers I was getting before I took the time off were regulars and I only take very high tippers 🌟 if I didn't have my other job to rely on I would be in a state of fear and depression 😔 I'm excited to let you know how it goes this weekend and if my theory proves correct! Wow... Your deliveries or batches stick around a long time for you to decide if you want to try them are not mine are always taken if I make sense. I guess I'm in a very busy market.
Also, how do you get the groceries upstairs when people live like when its second and third floor so you have some type of car to get the food up to them
My market in south Florida Fort Laudable,Boca,Deerfield area you have to be careful. If you have areas that are rich next to the very poor you can be tricked into shopping for a single mother with 4 kids on the 3rd floor no elevator and 6 cases of water lol! but sometimes you just have to appreciate life and having the kids help me and turn this nightmare into a self fulfilling fun time it’s all good
How many cooler bags do you get? Do you pay for it?
That was a good video Jen.... not being negative or anyting but we all know the cost of living in Massachusetts is a lot higher than it is in Florida be prepared when you move down here that you'll see more 20 and $30 orders than you will see 40 and $50 orders, and if you do see a 40 or $50 order be prepared to swipe as fast as you can

So true. What I would give to see your batches. I am in south Florida and I'd your lucky enough to see batches like yours you have to be really fast. I rarely see them and even then they are a quick flash in my screen. BTW I am also not getting any ratings and my five star ratings are disappearing at a rate of sometimes two a day. So sad. So that combined with a three star rating has left me with an average rating. I did finally get a five star the other day after not getting rated at all for two weeks. I have also have customers tell me they cannot add in replacements which is why I always text before refunding.
Also Jen, you shouldn't be driving back and forth between stores because the app said so. IC is slow right now so you need a LOT OF PATIENCE to get a great batch.
Stay at ur favorite store or any store and the batches will definitely Pop up. Just be patient 🙏🙏🙏

Best batches are somewhere over the rainbow 🌈 because they're definitely not in my zone. The batches you showed are what I see on a daily basis. I'll find a couple of decent ones here and there but I've been forced to move on to other gig apps in order to make money. I may be doing about 10 hrs week on Instacart at this point.

I’m a 5 ⭐️ shopper and work so hard for that also I always ask my customers (especially the ones who compliment me before delivery during chat) to go and give me a good review! I haven’t seen any comments or reviews since July 4th??? My number just continues to go down and I’m wondering? Do I get dinged at some point? So strange as I always get comments 🤔
Those orders look just like what I see all the time. Everyone talks about these $20 batches. I just wish I would even see one to know what it looks like.
I’ll sit in a store parking lot and get nothing til I decide to go home. But too bad Im Not going back. I only have 2 stores in my area and one is aldis that I don’t do.

In my zone, for a few of us it seems that if we go on vacation for more than a week, we are much slower when we get back--only getting a couple batches offered for the first few days we are back. My neck is killing me from sitting in my car staring at my phone, despite trying to use correct posture lol.
I thought active time was when you accept the order until you finish I don't understand what you mean by having drive time or are you talking about time between batches

I never see any batches anymore at all in Columbus Ohio for the last two weeks I don't know what the deal is...
Careful with that automatic refund update. It has happened to me all week. Yet when I ask the customer er if they’d like what I chose for replacement they say yes. So careful because some customers might think you the shopper are being lazy and not offering to replace and are just refunding.
I just had that happen to me yesterday. There was an obvious replacement on the shelf so I messaged the customer to make sure and he said yes to replace the item.

Why does IC not allow customers to tip if the order is just a shop leave n store for customer pickup?
WOW! Your batches are WAY WAY WAY better then mine and I’m in an okay area just a lot of low income families but ALOT of really good stores around me I can sit at home and wait for a batch.. sometimes I wait 5 mins sometimes I wait 2-3 hours to see a batch that’s doable. For the most part I won’t go over 5 miles for a double or triple and for a single I don’t take orders more then 3.5-4 miles away because since the batch pay and tips are so low it’s just not worth driving 13 miles with 75 items for $14 I’m sorry but, NO! Anyways the batch that you had come up that you said no to is actually my higher paying batch then normal it was shown about 8-9 mins into the video but I would have swiped on that batch so fast .. I look at the mileage first before anything then the store kinda do those at the same time then I’ll look at the amount of items which I know my stores super well so unless it’s a heavy pay I won’t even care to look further into the amount of items … I get a lot of ppl wanting 2-5 cases of water and always always always live in an apartment and always always on the top floor. I work my butt off everyday and never ever came close to $100 a day. I can hit $60 if I really put the hours in that day and it’s a good batch day but sundays and sometimes mondays I can make up to $80 and I’m happy but that’s like 6-8 batches and working all morning all afternoon until dark. Please be grateful that you have such wonderful batches because a know there’s ALOT of ppl in the same position I am in and it sucks honestly sucks No matter how hard I work or what batches come up it’s always the same thing 40-75 items and $2.00 and usually at aldis where you have to bag the groceries yourself in paper bags that only fit a few things in them or they break … anyone else in the same position I am in ? Please share ❤ Thanks for continuing to do the Instacart videos I watch them while I’m looking for a batch so it really makes me want to get out there and do it myself because I do absolutely love this job that’s the only reason I’m still doing it
That’s so annoying. Im from Hadley and barely see anything for here. I see mostely batches for your area so instacart makes me drive to south 20miles. You are there and see batches for my area 🤣

I've got a question about that shrimp and ice cream delivery in hot weather. After you take a photo of the food in your cooler bags, do you then leave the bags? Or take the food out and leave it in the grocery bags? Won't it melt at that point? Thanks!
Hi Sue! I never leave my cooler bags. Once we drop off the groceries and we send the photograph to the customer, it is on the customer to be responsible for bringing them in. The cooler bags are expensive and an investment. I do though, think it’s important that the customers see the cooler bags in the photo.💛
Hello I’m new I have a question about the cooler bag I have two that I use in my car to keep stuff cool.. are we expected to leave them when the customer is not home and they have produce??
Hi Tiffany. You definitely don't leave your own cooler bags. Just take a photo of the groceries in the bag and send to your customer. Then you take your bags. 💛
Jen did you use that $1.00 CVS Extra Buck I saw hanging from your car visor? I have to know! Ha ha. I would have loved to shop that first batch with the $24 tip. Wondering if it would be worth my while to drive an hour north to Mass for better paying batches. Coastal Connecticut has some fancy expensive homes but I'm just not seeing many orders over $20.

Will they be a topic on the Instacart law suit by any chance from you or someone else?
An interesting experiment would be to get a friend to sign up for IC and ride along with you. In real time, check to see what batches they would get as a newbie (especially the Costco ones) compared to you since both phones would be in the same location as reported by GPS. Another experiment would be to spoof your GPS location a few miles away from the bigger batch locations (Costco). Maybe the algorithm penalizes you for waiting in the parking lot.

Jen, I appreciate your videos and candid words. In response to your comments at time 20:40+, those app-written comments are generic and written blindly for all markets. You correctly say that markets are different state by state, city by city, and can differ on opposite sides of the same river, interstate, trainline, other.

The bun missing was probably a mess up in the packaging process and wasn't caught. Recently When I bought onion buns there were multiple packs that actually had extra buns in them.

Also, when it says no batches head to blah blah. Just drive a little down the road. You’re on the border of the closest store so app thinks you’re too far away...a few feet can make a difference. Just drive up to the next corner and pull over and look for a batch.
Jen how do batches stay on so long for you to accept? In my area in Canada, that batch would have disappeared in Seconds! 🤣🤣🤣

I stopped doing it... too many shoppers and bots. used to be able to make 200-300 daily but not now... was in Toronto area
Exactly, anything more than $12 in my area you basically have to just swipe to accept without reviewing at all or it WILL be gone. I did an order paying $17 yesterday and that’s the highest paying batch I’ve ever gotten since starting in May and the drive to the store then to the customers house along with the size of the order ended up being so long it probably wasn’t even worth it.
I also started seeing way more batches with no tips recently. I think it is because Instacart just added the EBT option, I’m in central Cali
These are the orders that will hurt us the most. Not to mention they will put us under minimum wage, most times. 💛 Hang tough, Brianna!
That's so interesting that your app will say to drive to a different location. I've never seen mine say that. Also, since I'm new to IC, do you have to be at a store for better batch selection? I always sit at home to pick the 1st batch. My market has slowed 🐌 down a lot since school let out.
I've been doing instacart for over 3 months and if you stay home you wont see batches or limited because possibly of your rating or not close to stores if your closer to a grocery like in the parking lot you should receive quite a bit more orders then being far away from the store at home etc :) hope this helps
Hi Melissa! I know, right? The app kept telling me to drive around different locations. It was honestly frustrating in my opinion, because every time I got to a certain location a batch would pop up in the opposite location. Ugh! 💛

@@rafidalbotany1109 I will have to give this a try then. I am a 5 star shopper. I guess I thought because I was within 5 miles of 2 groceries and a Target that I shouldn't have to park at one of them. Also, they send me batches from stores that are 40+ min away. So frustrating.

These no tippers are usually regular customers ( 50 + orders )
Could be that they know that their no tip batch will be coupled with a tipped one, so maybe that's why they feel no need to add a tip.
It's totally wrong thinking but maybe that's what many of them are doing now.
Absolutely agree!! I just don’t get the non tippers. And I believe you are correct, here. They are frequenting the app because they are being enabled. I will only choose my batches based on high customer tips. I’m not even taking batches with low tips. It’s not worth the gamble.💛
I totally agree with you Jen. I won't give a low tipped batch a second look, even in these bad times.
