Nicely done! I just ordered this drone from Amazon and I'm more sure than ever that this was the right choice. My 8 year old doesn't know it's coming and I'll be fully trained before he does! Thanks for all the great imformation. I can see a lot of time and effort go into your videos!
I bought mine from Amazon on Sunday and it arrived on Monday. Weather permitting, I want to try it out this Friday, January 8th. I hope you are having fun with yours.
@@TheGrumpySnowman Thank you. I'm pleasantly surprised to see how many people have good things to say about the Holystone HS720E. I'm looking forward to trying my new drone tomorrow. I'm also interested in getting a bird's eye perspective of various points of interest near where I live. Safety permitting of course.
It is a great drone with great footage if you only want to go within 500m. It would be a greater drone if you could get footage via WiFi a lot further so you can track the drone via your phone. As a hs720e drone operator I would never let my drone go further than I can track it visually, you may be flying up at 350m but you cannot tell if you fly unsighted if it could hit something. Common sense tells me alway fly while I can see it. When holy stone makes a transmitter that links to your phone so you can track it 1000+m then it will be a serious contender for DJI. DJI transmitter connect physically to your phone so your phone can track 2000+m without loss of fpv to the phone.
I've got five batteries, and run it a lot, no issues at all. A great drone for the money. The only downside is is that the video transmission is quite short. Here in the uk it gets pixalated or lost around 500 to 800 metres
Great job on your presentation. I’ve been favoring this drone but with your video I will now buy this product. What rating would you give this drone after owning it and flying it with its features.
5 stars. Easily. I just flew it today and had it follow me in my truck down a dirt road. It did great and flew to home when I got out of range I trusted it was there and sure enough when I got back it was sitting right where I took off from.
Nice drone review! Can you please clarify: Does the drone record 1080P straight to your phone with the SD card inside or does it record only 720P to your phone regardless? Also, how do you insert the Picture in Picture? Is it done during your test flight or after using some editing software? Thanks 😊
Hey Grumpy Snowman, do you have to reset the Distances on the Ophelia software every time you restart the App? Also, can you provide any default settings you use comfortably when flying (Orbit Semidiameter, Max Distance, Max Altitude, and RTH Altitude) the HS720E. I just received one for a birthday gift and anxious to fly but weather has been 19 degrees F. and less lately.
Same situation. Weather has been Garbo. As far as the settings, yeah Ophelia go has been like that since the last update. I use MrC Pro now. I leave those default for the auto things like orbit. Max distance I put to like 1000 ft and max altitude to like 150ft
I have the hs450 just for fun and the 2k one that looks like a mini dji phantom. I’m about to order the 270 or 280 to have a decent smaller one that doesn’t require registration etc.
Great video on the HolyStone HS720E. I have just bought mine and I wanted to look at some other reviews. Yours was one of the best and helped me know I picked a great budget adult drone. BTW, I already have quite a few other drones. IE. Mavic Air 2, Protensic, Ruko, and a Skydio2. I just wanted, as you said, a great budget drone. As you said, if you don't think it's a great drone for a very good price go check into others that don't really offer much more except a much higher price!
The controller is identical to the MJX Bugs 20 EIS. Rebranded. Checked out the price online and the Bugs B20 EIS is far cheaper, in some cases more than €70. No brainer what drone to buy.
But the bugs 20 is a different drone entirely? Just did a search on google and it’s not a foldable and looks totally different, looks like the D15 that I did a review on and that one is around the $180 to $200 price which is comparable to what the bugs 20 goes for... maybe I’m confused... I get that it’s rebranded or whatever but if that’s the case shouldn’t you be comparing pricing and features to the proper model from mjx?
Can be any device that can download the app and has wifi. Sometimes I use a really old tablet or an older phone. Just ensure you can download and run the Ophelia go app or mrc pro app. You can do this before even buying the drone.
Hi ☃️, thanks for the great Video. Does the Drone have a return to home function, when the battery-level is low. Today I had the issue, that it just landed far away.
The 4k doesn't look bad for what it is. Almost as good as a M2 on a bad day. And...you have almost as many baseball fields there as we do, first time I saw somewhere else with 4 diamonds linked together
Yeah I was surprised with how totally decent this little drone was. For the price I don’t think it can be beat. Baseball fields haha yep. That was a giant multi use park and they have more soccer fields in one place than I think I’ve ever seen too.
Ummmm I'm torn between Mavic Mini or the Holy stone HS720E.... Difficult choice. And I'm a newby to all this. Still thank you very much indeed for sharing this info.
It sure does! You MUST have the GPS enabled for the return to home to function. Check out my D15 follow up video in the Drone reviews playlist. I purposely sent it out of range so that people can see what happens. The D15 and HS720e behave in the same manner when they go out of WiFi range.
The controller may feel nice, but its transmission ability (i.e., units ability to talk to the remote) is very poor. I returned it twice cos after 15 feet and both had the same issue.
It really depends on conditions and your phone but I was getting 1000 feet horizontal with no video drop out or any control issues. The company claims 1500 meters but at that rate it would be out of sight and that is a position that I avoid. Today I was flying this drone around and had it 200 feet above me, pretty dang high but the spotlight on the bottom really helps you see it. Looks like a star almost haha, neat flying at dusk.
Actually it’s about 500 to 600 before your phone drops out. Then your flying unsighted which is against CAA regulations in the U.K. and probably against FAA regulations in the USA
@@emorytraylor mine is coming on Monday hopefully so I couldn’t really tell you lol. I was gonna get a drone that’s 150 since I’m new at this but then I was like you know what I bought an rc a while back and when I started to look up more rc’s I regretted my decision and wanted a different one lol. So I started looking at different drones and like top 10 drones but I didn’t go off that because different pages tell you different things I’m not sure how this one came up but I started watching videos and the reviews on this one and there good reviews. So I just pulled the plug on something a bit more expensive that I feel would last me longer give me better video quality instead of something breaking in a couple of weeks. Well if you wanted to look at it that way, a comparable drone from another manufacturer would cost easily $500 plus. Check out my D15 video for a low budget 4K drone. Or go lookup the mavic pro for a taste of how pricey things can get. Looking for 4K EIS FPV and GPS capabilities, this drone is considered budget in my eyes. Also if you catch it on sale I’ve seen it just over 200 with a case, controller and two batteries. Little bit of research goes a long way. Also one other side note I would like to point out, any of the other reviewers that focus on drones call this a budget drone as well. So I’ll stand by it.
This is a lot cheaper than DJI's cheapest drone so this is definitely a budget drone. You don't justify what a budget device by just the dollar amount.

Hey Grumpy Snowman- what is the difference between the HS720 & the HS 720E? I see both for sale on Ebay .

Nice! Thats awesome. For a WiFi drone that range is pretty decent too.
Great video! Did you happen to buy a different charger for these batteries? If so, I would love to know what charger you got.
It's a proprietary charger, so no never bought another one. The standard charger that CE with it works fine albiet a bit slow.

720p to phone, 1080 and 4K only when memory card inserted and records to the memory card. The PIP was all done post in editing:)

Hi ☃️, thanks for the great Video. Does the Drone have a return to home function, when the battery-level is low. Today I had the issue, that it just landed far away.
I haven’t had it do that. The RTH should keep it close by when the battery is low and bring it back. Was there a bunch of wind or something?
Yes, it was a little bit windy and very dark. Maybe this had an influence on it, too.
Very possible. I wish I still had mine. Was a good little drone.
Oh, what happened?
Ah nothing tragic gave it to my brother.
very good make video
Nice, just a shame the controller takes AA batteries instead of a higher capacity internal battery.

I haven’t flown or reviewed the f11, so I would be super biased to say the hs720
Is there a quick charger available?
Nope!
How far can it go before it’s out of range of the controller?
Manufacturers say 1000m. I usually keep it in eyesight and if the signal does drop it will return home.
Bro what is the unit/model of your phone?
Lol I have an iphone12 and that phone was an old nexus 5
How much does the drone weigh?
Less than a pound. I'm sure the specs are on Amazon. I don't have a scale.
What phone u using ???
Oh man that was a while ago. It was either an iPhone 12/13 or a pixle 5a

Sounds like an issue with location rather than the drone. If two units exhibited the same issue I would suggest looking for other causes.
DJI needs to take notes, drones should come with at least 2 batteries
Absolutely. Also the batteries that have the charge port right on em is nice like the D15. USB-C right in the battery. Very convenient.

Around 200 on Amazon
300 dollars
