I just do not get why some complain about magnetic timeline. I tried Premiere Pro as well and moving clips around in it feels way more challenging and I never was sure that there is no empty space between clips.
The thing I can’t figure out is when I delete a clip from the middle of my timeline it leaves a grey space. How can I get it to automatically snap closed those gaps????
make sure you are pressing the backspace delete (the one above the return/enter key) and not the forward delete. They do separate types of deletes. If that's not if then the keyboard shortcut may have been adjusted. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and the comment!

I agree with you in some of the things you said, I started using FCP when it was 1.0, I went from that to FCP 7, we all knew apple was headed in the right direction and had the chance to be what is Resolve today and then they kill 7. FCP right now its missing two strong pieces to make this editing software stronger again, SoundTrack, Color and a lot of thing that is missing from FCP 7, still to this day I don't understand why they made this move with out bringing back what they left of from 7, Its been over 11 years and they're still not up to par of what FCP 7 use to be. I understand what you said about Resolve and the learning curve, but if someone wants to take this job serious, its the way to go, wants you learn Resolve there is no turning back, the cut page its basically like FCP and it works perfect with the rest of the pages and if you buy the speed editor, it takes this cut page to another level, night and day different that puts FCP in shame, grading in the color page you'll have in your hands the power of color grading whit power, its what hollywood uses to grade their mov, its simply the best and using nodes its a game changer for me, simple but yet powerful, Fairlight its what Soundtrack use to be, its a great page on Resolve and lets not even talk about Fusion, wants you understand how to deal with nodes structure, you'll see the power of fusion really fast. Apple build FCP from 1.0 to 7 in time record and it was one of the best ones out there and than they took FCP back in time and never again have they been serious about keeping up with competation for the benefit of the people who do this line of work. I use to use FCP X untill I started using Resolve after that only for my quick and easy jobs, but when Balckmagic came out with the cut page, FCP X, its been in the back burner. Resolve has everything you need from the simple job to Hollywood level work, its up to you how far you want to go and there is plenty to grow on this suits, it is at the level that fcp should be today but much better, Davinci Eesolve has no competition, hands down the best. All that for $299 for life and free upgrades and the free version you can use over 95% of the studio version, did I said its free with free updates.

Great video, as always! Question regarding your audio setup. With Accusonus being EOL'ed by Meta, I'm looking into Izotope for de-essing and cleanup. How are you using Izotope with FCP? I understand the plugins don't plugin to FCP. Do you round trip? What's your workflow and advice? And, if it's too much to type here... perhaps a video tutorial on audio enhancing FCP?
Yeah Accusonus was nice, but not really that great IMO. iZotope is by far much better quality. But it's hit or miss with FCP on M1 chips. It is a one time purchase but to use 3D Tracking and such, you end up spending quite bit of money for those plugins from VFX. Don't get me wrong, they are nice but they do get expensive and what happens once an update to FCPX or FCPIX comes out. Will you be able to upgrade those plugins or buy new ones? And the new feature to Remix audio right now i within Premiere is a game changer to my editing. Truly love that! With after effects, I have all the tools I need. Sure I pay a monthly fee, but once you add all of the effects that I can get in After Effects to my projects, I would have to spend a lot of money adding these plugins to FCPX. I'm playing with the demo now of FCPX and I'm getting the hang of it. But I can' quite make that jump yet. It would cost me quite a bit to purchase it, plus all of the addons I would require. Some of the VFX plugins that I would need right off the bat are $200+ dollars. That is for one plugin. So it is not an easy thing to do if you are currently subscribed to Adobe and its ecosystem. It is in fact costly to change.
I spend nearly $700 a year for the adobe suite, and Redgiant plugins (an extra $800) plus all the other plugins I have purchased over the years, I say I would have spent nearly $15,000 just to use adobe. Preimere alone is be $300 a year. So $300 one time plus even another $3000 for plugins would still be cheaper. But I do understand, once you are in a system, the workflow, the plugins, the muscle memory do add up to time saved. I use all the major NLE's and I keep coming back to FCP for it's speed and ease of use. Thanks for watching and the comment Mike!

In fact, some of the greatest and most intricate songs ever written have been pop songs. They may sound basic, but there's a lot going on. Awesome video, Rafael! FCPX has been my editor of choice since awhile ago, and I have to say that I love it. Lately I’ve been shooting in BRaw so I have to upload in Resolve and export in ProRes to FCPX and I said “I wish I could know Resolve as much as I know fcp, but as you mentioned, it’s not that user friendly!!! Thanks so much for sharing this video. Cheers
Sorry, but I worked with Adobe, Sony Vegas, Magix and I am finding Finalcut Pro the most unintuitive of them all. All these key commands remind me of the MS Dos era. Back in the day Apple stood for intuitive operation. And great GUIs. FCPs menus are spread all over the place. In every corner you find a few. And for every new thing I had to read the manual. Nothing is self explanatory. Maybe it is a matter of personal taste, but the most intuitive video editor by far is Adobes Premiere Pro. It is the only one where I never ever had to refer to the manual. But I hate the renting philosophy that they started to impose on us. Finalcut is relatively inexpensive and its functionality is massive. For me the biggest pro factor is the combination with Motion 5, which is a wonderful extension. You can create your own title generators that will cost you a lot in other editors. Apple is still able to make intuitive stuff. GarageBand for iOS is an example. Logic is too. Finalcut is definitely not.
The problem with Final Cut is the MACKYINTOSHY platform & its PRICE DaVnci is Free or in my Case is $299 for life and they thru in a $300 Speed editor. That made DaVinci Studio FREE for life Bro.
💯 DaVinci is fantastic and overall the best in class NLE, and it will only become better over time. FCP is a great entry into editing and post if you getting started and already have a Mac. Thanks for watching and the comment!

Lately I’ve been shooting in BRaw so I have to upload in Resolve and export in ProRes to FCPX and I said “I wish I could know Resolve as much as I know fcp, but as you mentioned, it’s not that user friendly!!! Thanks so much for sharing this video. Cheers
I'm hoping that Apple finds a way to natively work with BRAW - it should be easy! Thanks for watching and the comment Ruben!
Final Cut all the way and don't fear the ease of use ;)
DaVinci bro!!! Its like FCPX plus more! Its sooo good. Especially the new version
Learned to edit years ago in FCP, back then I loved editing.
Over the last years I've come to hate editing, thanks to having to edit in Premiere Pro..
I work in FCP for a while now because DR is for some reason not working anymore since the latest macos update. Like it but love DR.
KEYFRAMING !!!!
100% pathetic at best! Thanks for watching and the comment Bernard!
Good work bro
Davinci Resolve isn’t that hard to learn. Just take some time with it. After you’ll see that Davinci is more capable and comfortable to work with.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, Best app in the world for sure!
It sure is! Thanks for watching and the comment Claudio!
@@RafaelLudwig You're welcome.
Me tooo MASN greatest editor out there. Adobe greed... Premiere is a Terrible app
You cant even ease in and out a keyframe in FCPX lol
@@RafaelLudwig Hey Bro. The best Editor is the one you can GET THE JOB DONE for you.
