Yo thanks a lot since I modded my Wii U for pretendo not realizing the amount I can actually do with a modded Wii U so thanks for these guides so I can get more home brew apps that are useful🤘👍
So apparently the creator said this about it with the current mk8 update so this explains why it won’t work maybe someone can think of a workaround:
These mods need to be loaded through the Wii U plugin system (WUPS), not SDcafiine. WUPS is an .elf homebrew. Aroma can't read .elf homebrew. In theory it can be converted to be Aroma compatible, and a few people have claimed they'd take a stab at such, but thus far, nothing has materialized from this as I'm aware. Which is why it has to at this time be loaded through Tiramisu or earlier cfws.
Trying to straight up inject data in the game will work fine for surface level SDcafiine kinds of mods. But this mod expands upon the code of MK8, so injecting like that is never gonna work unless maybe we get the MK8 source code via a decomp or something like that.
This was designed for MK8 before the latest update that fixes online, so don't make that update, or if you did, find a way to downgrade to the previous version. I'm sure the original creator of the adapted plugin here could update the code to make it work with the latest version (I personally wouldn't know exactly what to do in this regard), but he kinda disappeared and I don't really wanna go track him down and bother him over this, especially since this isn't even really meant for online and Wii U online will officially be ending in a few months anyway.

Okay, so I did the process, everything went well, until one thing unexpectedly happened.
For some reason, after importing a 100% save for MK8, the game wouldn’t even make it past the black screen where the engine sounds play. What could I have done wrong?
I don’t know what you might of done wrong, but I just wiped the data in SaveMii, including the common save, and then opened Mario kart 8 and it finally allowed me in to mario kart. Also, the 100% data was installed, idk how that worked but it did, lmao.

@@shortstubbysmartkid1953 How tf did that work lol, deleting the data in the savemii backup folder literally does not affect the game's save location at all. Guessing all you needed to do was restart the game and you got lucky
It might be because the save u have is Europe, if USA just choose the first save
late asf, but what helped me was I made sure my game was saved on nand instead of usb, once I transfered it to nand I redid the tutorial and it worked

And you could use CEMU Wii U emulator on pc if you have a good enough pc. mine has a geforce 1050ti graphics card.

With my 100% save files to Zelda Tracks and Toonoki Mario is locked. Do i need to buy them to unlock them?
After I did this I couldn’t play mk8 again it just shows the "mario kart 8" loading screen with kart sounds in the background. What should i do? do you have a discord where i can msg you? Btw. you really helped me a lot with my hamebrewing thx for that.
its because of different versions of mario kart 8 saves he forgets to include that info

I am looking to get 100% for Super Mario Maker to have all of the costumes unlocked. Would this have any effect on downloaded courses in it?

Just curious, would it be helpful to rename the folder of a backed-up game to the game's name? E.g. naming the Mario Kart 8 backup "Mario Kart 8". Would that mess up the backup process in any way?
actually, i believe the savemii software reads the folders as the title id's so i think they need to stay like that. However if youre just storing them you could add the game name after the number if you want to organize until you need it again

Hey I had problems I loaded in mk8 with a different 100% save file from the same website and when I loaded in mk8 I was stuck on the loading screen and I had to turn off the console so what happened and I had to delete the save data to play it again
So you need an empty SD card first? Then what? Can't you use a USB flash?
I kept trying wouldn’t work it’s a USA copy tried it with and without DLC made no difference. And tried reinstalling MK8 to see if I could avoid updating the game but it forces you to update and won’t let you launch The game until doing so. Does it possibly have something to do with it being a older save file on a different version? I’m scratching my head on this one

Hi @FunkyScott47, I got a certain Saves to work which is Star Fox Zero but the others I just can't seem to get yet which are Yoshi's Woolly World and I'm about to do Super Mario 3D World but I have a question what if the Saves rar file doesn't have the code folder and a common folder but it worked for my Mario & Sonic Game even without a common folder?

When I loaded mk8, it just shows the mario kart 8 logo and not the game
if it freezes, try deleting the save data and then restoring it with the 100% save again

I've tried on Reddit but have received no responses, so I hope you can kindly help me. Can't you just simply back up saves by transferring the save to an external drive? Why is it necessary to do this through Savemii? Thank you so much for your help!
Saves are stored on the console NAND itself I believe and can’t be transferred to an external storage without SaveMiiMod.
Though I could be wrong so if anyone has more accurate information feel free to correct me.
@@WillowStarshower Thank you so much for the response! I had posted the same question to Reddit and based on many other answers I received, it seems you are correct! Basically it's tied to the NAND and the profile. So I can't give you my save data for example. But if I have my system Brick and restore the NAND, then I can restore saves as well. I ended up using SaveMii, so thanks again :)

Hello, I need some help. A few years ago I had an NNID that I played with a lot. And not long ago I formatted my entire Wii U console.This deleted my save data for all games on the NNID, but the NNID itself was not deleted. This means if I log in with my old NNID and then e.g. Splatoon start then all my data is gone. And unfortunately I didn't make a save like I did here with SaveMii. Is there a way to get my save data back? Through the existing Network ID? So can I still find it somehow and get it back or is this save data gone forever?

@@funkyscott47 Yeah. The save file with everything unlocked still worked though. I just didn’t see a “backups” folder when I connected my sd card to my computer.
Hello, i just played trough Twillight Princess and wanted to back up my Save with SaveMii. But when i try to back it up, it says that there is no save for my user. Next to my username it says "empty". Wind Waker for example is working fine. It says "has save" next to my name. Any ideas why this is?

hi scotts can you make tutorial on how to restore Wii U firmware. because my Wii U often hangs when open some games, or press home button, so I planned to reinstall Tiramisu on fresh Firmware. also is there way to launch HBL on Aroma? because some of my module won't work if I can't open Tiramisu.
im not sure what you mean restore it, you can update it by downloaded the latest files and tranfserring them on your sd (replace existing files) or do you mean completely re do the process like get rid of the cfw and reinstall it from scratch?
@@funkyscott47 yes reinstall it from scratch. I guess I made some mistakes when I install CFW. Although my Wii-U is still running normal now but I need HBL to run USB controller.

I need help perhaps someone could tell me what I am doing wrong. I got to the point where I backup my Wii U game but I haven't played the game yet and still tried it anyway (probably should not have). So I went and played the game for a bit to have a save file ready to do the backup properly. Now my app opens with no issue I can open my vWii menu without a hitch but when I open the Wii U menu backup it freezes my console and I cant do anything except turn it off manually. I tried removing the file and putting a new one and the same issue occurs. I also reformatted my sd card and then putting the files back into it with no success. If someone knows what I can do to fix this or have an alternative app I could use let me know thank you much love great video regardless

Red somewhere on gbatemp, that common folder not required when importing new save. I saved my own common folder and only replaced user folder. Everything seems to work fine.
interesting, when i added 100% save without the common folder, it didn't work, but when i added it it worked so maybe it only matters for some games
It doesn't seem to work for Game & Wario. It goes to creating save data then says "Not enough space to create save data" and I can't seem to restore my old data either. Is it because in SaveMii it says from USB instead of from NAND?

I had the same problem. If its still bothering you, you'll have to download the EU files on that website. (I'm guessing youre from EU) If you do everything exactly the same with the only difference being the EU version instead of the US one then it should work fine
