@@FeelingLikeThatNow yeah it is Ive been in a lot of muscle cars the past few years but that setup with the 396, 4 speed rock crusher and the rear gear he had mad with the most aggressive ride ever
My cousin Cliff ordered a 1970 Base Nova with a 427 Floor 4 speed bench seat Midnight Blue with blue interior with only radio. Devoid of chrome trim. Pov hub caps. Hed went off to Nam. He came back 10 months later. The whole family was there. It was 4th of July. His car had been sitting in Uncle BOB's garage, Since Feb.1970. Cliff got the keys started it up>>> I was a monster car! My Dad loved it, well we all did. Uncle Bob, Cliffs Dad and my dad went for the first ride. My dad told my sister and I we could not get in that car! My dad was a fireman. Mom finally told us IT scared the heck out of my Dad! Plus Uncle BOB! My Sister and I did get to ride in it, It scared us both! It was a MONSTER CAR! It was a cool car too! A sleeper, what they say now. I love sleepers. I hope that this car still alive today in someone's barn or garage.
@@SubdivisionAuto hahaha.... Must have felt even wilder! Compact Muscle vs big mid-size Muscle, 500 + lbs makes a difference I am sure! ;) hahaha. Keep up the great work Max. Love your show.
Oh yeah I know you do. And this one is an original L78 396 with the big transmission pretty cool car. Super aggressive car the definition of muscle car
Had a '72 ss with a 350 ci motor. Redid it to a 383 stroker. It had the sunroof option, which basically opened the whole roof. I put 4:11 gears with positive in it, the car would scream. Drove it like the dukes of hazzard, had it on 2 wheels a few times. We boxed the unibody so it was a solid frame which helped in its handling also. What a blast that car was. I wonder if it's still on the road. I sold it in 1989 and still miss it to this day.
@@SubdivisionAuto . Yeah, I April fools people, most times my dad, when I buy a new diecast model. I came close a couple times to having one of those I could have restored and drove but it wasn't to be, now they are way out of my price range. My plan was to use a S-10 truck as a donor for the 4.3v6 and 5speed manual. Had one on a car trailer sometime in the early 2000s, and someone came along and talked me out of it with some green paper before I could get it into the garage.
I own an original 69 SS 350 M20 3:31 posi. 88k orig miles. Garnet Red. Red buckets no console. No tach. No AC.Has PS, PDB. Been off the road since 1977. 2 Friends locally have 69 L78's. Nice to see an original owner 69 L78. IMO, It was the best year Nova.
Nate what's happening with that car that's an aweosme build. I actually am restoring a 72 nova on this channel and the one I found has been off the road since 1977 as well. I spent 14 months looking for mine I filmed it all on this chann. Are you planning to restore yours?
Glad you liked it man yeah if I was going for an old school color this would be it for sure. Super cool car I'd love to see this thing on the track especially with that gear ratio. Maybe I can convince him to come to Wayne young lol?
Before the '69s came out , the SS cars all came standard with manual drum brakes , power was an option , with power disc brakes being yet another step up the option list .
Well Max, this cool car is a long way from my mother's '62 Nova, in beige, 4-door, 6 cyl, 3 on-the-tree, with a non-working radio. In my high school days, my mom let me use it on date nights. I took a transistor radio along for romantic AM radio music. Once, this hot stud had to get out and push it up a small hill since it couldn't make it own its own power. I can't seem to recall if I ever talked to that girl again. LOL
Now that's a nice car man. I saw one last year in Sudbury ontairo wish i had done a video on it. THey are very rare! Good stuff thanks for dropping in. If you like Novas you should check out the Nova series on this channel where we are a restoring a '72.
I ordered a 396 nova from a chevy dealer in jennings Louisiana the drunk ass salesman ordered me a 350 instead,i waited thrree months for the car, what a disappointment!
Kudos on the battery, boo on the HEI, I use Pertronix on the stock distributor. Originality is precious. That being said, I totally destroyed my 69 SS Chevelle, bought w/14k miles in 71 started racing it in 74, still going down the track to this day, addicted to going fast. In reality, muscle cars belong on the track, where they can shine.
You said it, it's the definition of a muscle car. Love that blue!
