- Tommy and Peyton make a plan of attack to resurrect a 1966 Chevy Nova, a first for the Detroit Muscle shop. After their upscale treatment, this Nova codenamed Project Starstruck, will be a low, mean, aggressive street machine with killer looks.
With the plan laid out, Tommy and Peyton install light frame rails on the 1966 Chevy Nova. However, riding these rails proves to be tougher than expected when Project Starstruck shows her true colors.

Love watching Tommy the "Adult Bobby Hill" build cars! All the Nova needs is propane
Lmao
I own a 1978 Chevy Nova Sedan ,with a 250 inline 6 engine ,this video will definitely help me some how with my Restoration !!!!
R.I.P JOE
Really enjoy watching Tommy.
RIP Joe Elmore.
If a chevy two don't make a good hotrod canvas I don't know what does. And old school great like tommy to do the work can't beat that.
Keepemcoming
Love the 60 series cruiser in the opening ❤
Definitely love a Nova!! Perfect car for this type of build. Looking forward to this one. You guys are the best!!
Great episode.
Now I know these guys are real mechanics, they have the same energy as the guys at the shop down the road who’ve been listening to the same old “The brakes just started squealing this morning!” and “You should warranty my engine for the crap oil you put in my engine 4 years ago!” stories for 20 years.
You taking me back till I was 14 years old and that is the first hot rod that I worked on is '66 Nova SS 400 small block with a 350 camshaft. We took 17 in wide traction tires and no back and little skinny pro stock tires in the front. Mickey t's and I think we stuck a three-speed in there for racer
Your boss doesn't get it about building a special rotisserie...imagine working down-hand instead of over your head.
66, 67 Chevy II is one of the only Chevy body styles I like. Scott Sullivan anyone?
If only it was as easy as the animation.
Audio is weird on this one. It sounds like the voice audio was taken out, base added, and then jammed back into 'close enough'.
Great instructions if someone can't learn from yall they shouldn't work on cars at all
Wait a minute ! New guy put assembly lube in the wheel bearing ? Am I that old and I’m missing some new bearing manufacturing process.
Yes finally somebody that likes to use, narrow wire, using .023, and I use Italian manufactured wire because there's no alloys, and no Splatter, like the USA mandated wire splatters...
I am so sick of LS engines. With one exception. A 1970 LS6 454. That’s an LS I really love
money saver front end off bolt right in older s10
you cut out the part where you`r getting all the anti seize off your body 😂
18.37 A prefab kit a kind of a DUI do it yourself kind of deal. It's not a DUI it's DIY. DUI is when you get pulled over after too many cold ones.
booger weld city!
Hi
Detroit Muscle or Carcass needs to do a Mid-late Muscle car, not a camaro or Vette though.... Something like a 75-79 Nova, a 73-77 Malibu, a 73-76 Cougar/T-bird, a 73-76 Torino or a Dodge Aspen/Plymouth Volare. I'm seeing ALOT of these "Smog Era" Muscle Cars show up to Cruise-ins, Cars and Coffee's and cars shows. There's more than several on the HRPT the last 3-4 years too. They are the HOT build now because they are still cheap, the parts are plentiful, the Aftermarket is catching up to them fast and they have aged out of the smog regs so you can pretty much build them however you want. Just do a simple restoration or build a mild restomod that you can daily drive but still take to a cars and coffee or local car show, nothing CRAZY, just a stock engine mild hopped up or move up to an LS, simple interior, simple wheels and simple paint job. Show people these cars are cool cars for not a whole lot of money.
I had a 74 Chevelle, and they se would be a cool boby style, but a modern twist on a t-bird or a 5.7 hemi in a volare would be great
I wonder what Tommy is up to these days.
Chevrolet Nova
Why do the voices sound dubbed? The audio is off??
What a shocker.. red. Terrible choice
I have to disagree with the Sprint. It may not have had true "muscle car' status. But become the "scrappy mutt" of street racing.
Well you lost me with your future plans of a LS and 5 speed manual transmission. Color me old school I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
We won't call you old school. We'll call you boring.
@@ekscalybur 👍🏻
@@glockfreak1973yeah I was also bummed that they didn’t swap in a coal burning steam engine
@@FreddyFunderbunz yeah me too
Where's the finishing video for the Fat Stack build?
i think theres a full build of that car on this channel that was posted a few weeks ago
@@everettgrover9459 thank you.
@@jasonmorales1846 no problem
A little less scripted shop talk would do wonders for these videos. That and a few less paid comments.
Stopped watching just as soon as you said LS so sick of everyone LS swaping
No one cares what you think 😂
It ain't your build.
Yeah they shoulda used a coal burning steam engine because technology is stupid 🙄
Wanna cry my pocket full?
I'm with you on the ls swaps. I've owned two that were professionally built and what I spent building them I could have had one bad ass old school big block bilt to the hilt and had more torque and horsepower.
Red? The most over used color in the car industry. Resale red hillbilly red, why not not a original color😒
