Its actually nice to hear musings over these army lists at a high level, more food for though. I've enjoyed a heap of oldhammer content over the last few weeks, the only thing I havent been so keen on are people trying to frame the 'meta' so early in the editions life span.

Initial impressions from playing these guys for a while: big boar block, great banners, chariots and squid hoppers. So agreeing with Colin. Disappointed with most goblin stuff, artillery and goblin characters.

Much appreciated! Although I found the Empire one much better. The good, alright, fluff system helps and also more detail on builds and such. This one felt more like a read through? Would love to see a version 2 of this once you get a few games in with the greenies.

Absolutely, some of our reviews are almost read through as we’re learning and we do intend to do new versions and more list based ones as time goes on so keep an eye out :)
Really enjoyed this, very happy all the squig units are looking scary. One minor thing - you can't use choppas if you have a magic weapon

@@oldworldfanatics was later on when you were discussing a specific weapon and mentioned it getting extra ap on the charge or something, easily done!
Guys - in so many ways this was really good, but a suggestion to improve these would be to prep a little more: some aspects of this felt very rushed; a little more time pre-reading would answer a lot of the assumptions and guesses that were incorrectly made here. For example, the Giant's 'pick up' rule - it's very clear you can pick a character model out of the unit, you just didn't read on far enough in the moment. It can come across as quite haphazard.

Spider raiders need ambush to be worth it imho
Otherwhise they are no competiton for wolf raiders that are boh more mobile and cheaper. Yes they have poison but it is not enough to justyfy 12 points per model.

I got boss on gigantic spider, arachnarok spider, tons of night goblins and wolf riders, spider riders, some fanatics, 6 fellwater trolls, 3 rock trolls? 5 mercenary ogres, giant, the huge momma troll... and trying to get some regular trolls too. ❤ oh and shaman on wyvern and the old goblin chariot hero and rock lobber.
Black Orc question! Motley crew. I want the nenwfit of shields to defend form shooting does every model need one? I heard something about proportion of unitsm is it just majority or everything? Cheers all
how does the chariot mount work concerning the armor save? For the boar chariot it just says armor save 4+. It does not mention any armor. Now you put a black orc warboss on top. Is the fullplate armor added to the combined profile to add up to the 2+ max armor save or is it wasted? If you give said Boss the eadbuttin 'at does he add his one impact attack to the impact of the chariot? Thanks for the input! :) best regards!
So AFAIK there really is only 3 armour save values and you can only pick 1 for a model. These are either 6+ (usually LA), 5+ (usually Heavy, armoured hide etc..) and 4+ (usually plate, some chariots etc..).
Then, you can add modifiers to this, e.g. shield +1, barding +1 etc..
So if you're on a chariot with a 4+ save and your general has a 5+ save you can use the 4+ save, add a shield for +1 for example to make it a 3+

I think the Combo will be, orc Bigguns with the banner of butchery taking them to S5. then skirmish with warbows. s5 360 bows sound awesome. only issue is no AP. but in a unit of say 40 youre going to cause issues.
I got excited until I realised Bigguns only get Strength bonus in combat and the banner is only on the charge :(
@@oldworldfanatics serves me right for not reading rules to the end! That would have been so awesome! I am genuinely crushed haha itchy nuisance and curse of arrow attraction could maybe make a decent shooting phase yet?
Not to mention skirmishers block their own line of sight so you're effectively only shooting with the duded in the front few anyways.

So Big Uns is no longer limited to 1 unit now? All though they have been reduced in WS, just 3.
Only 1 unit of boys can be big uns and 1 unit of boar boys can be big uns.
Night goblins are annoyingly better than anything else. It's kinda annoying. Illusion is the best lore of magic in the game for controlling the battle. They don't have impetuous. They have the best monsters and fanatics. The tax of taking 1 hero per unit isn't a big deal when the heroes are 30 points. It's annoying when they make one sub faction that good
