I love the tale of Tamurkhan. but the knowledge that there was supposed to be 3 sequels after that were scrapped urks me! Hopefully one day we'll see them come to life
Seriously what is it with nuln? I know it's the most progressive in the empire, but how many skaven invasions and vampire infiltrations can one city take? Not to mention you have this guy marching I'm here about tear up the place.
This was amazing, hats off to you good sir. You have inspired me to get my old Warriors of Chaos army out of the cabinet, re-based and stride into the old world.
Yep, that was a decent story to listent o while painting an IG sentinel and a lone blood angel SM. Sentinel walking through lava with strong underlighting looks great, the blood angel red though... honestly they're a bit boring. Did a dwarf flamerthrower guy from Forgefathers from that other mini game earlier with red and orange tints like he's being lit up and that looked excellent, but you can't get that same effect on a space marine with their armors shape... Oh well, will probably finish with my red painting spree soon and move onto green painting of minis next. I like testing out different painting styles and schemes, one unit at a time. That walking through lava imperial gaurd one though... might do a full army with that style since I'm really digging that one. Ah well, thanks for the story and I'll be listening to the tau one next I guess while i move onto my next painting projects. But for now, back to work! Can't paint all the time.
Bud, I've just seen your audiobook videos by Ian Watson, great job. Please do Space Marine by him as well, it's like a twisted parody of Starship Troopers by David Cronenberg, it does for the concept of Space marines codified by Robert Heinlein what Alan Moore did to the concept of superheroes with Watchmen: showed how messed up and neurotic they would be in reality. Also, maybe consider the other early works from GW's first fiction, like the Konrad saga by David Ferring and the Kim Newman stuff written as Jack Yeovil. It pains a vivid picture of what the WH40K and WH universe franchises were like back in the day, a very different place to now, a lot weirder and less accessible.
@@cpt191021 In more ways than one, lol It is bizarre, portraying IF marines psychology in masochistic and codedly homoerotic fashion, but it's grimdark in a strangely mature way rather than the edgy way that current lore seems to be. I would compare it to something like David Cronenberg movies or David Lynch's version of Dune. it's not easy to compare to any other Black Library fiction
I hope that if they ever add Sayl the Faithless they will ask you to voice him. I keep hearing you voice yelling "Zanbaijin!" and "Tamurkhan!" while playing as Tamurkhan
It's sort of funny, in 8th edition cannons were very realistic. 100 giants would've been scary but, I don't think they're making it through round 2 of shooting!
If ever there was a Chaos Champion warlord of our real world, Khan Timur would fit that bill nicely. The name is a bit on the nose, but that’s ok. Most names in Warhammer are.
@hoodedwizard4695 I got exactly what I wanted and then some. Down to the gunnery Nuln association. I feel so spoiled that I don't even question other people's wish lists, because I literally got handed mine.
I know you mostly cover 40k stuff so thank you for doing this for us Fantasy fans 🙏 I'm sure this took a ton of work but it came out absolutely incredible👍👍
I hate Nurgle so much. Disgusting crap infests everything and he always wins... I'd rather face Khorn any day. At least that's a straight up fight you can win. There is no winning against Nurgle. I wish the chaos gods would just f themselves into oblivion.
One of the greatest pieces of Warhammer Fantasy lore ever
Agreed.
this is absolutely metal. love how it gives nice chunky snippets of a number of the factions. really fleshes out the world and makes it feel real.
I wouldn't mind more fantasy stuff in the future as long as it's narrated by the Prince
Me too
Speaking for people who aren't into 40k I'd absolutely love it!
This was really well done!
Totally his characters voices are Epic first time I heard his actual voice I couldn't believe they were the same person.
I love the tale of Tamurkhan. but the knowledge that there was supposed to be 3 sequels after that were scrapped urks me! Hopefully one day we'll see them come to life
yeah its upsetting for sure
Do we know what they would have covered? Liked different chaos champions?
@@KS-PNWA book for each of the sons of the great kurgan that is one for a champion of each chaos god.
Tamurkhan and his birth brothers.
One of your best works yet Border Prince!!! Thanks so much for bestowing this upon us
Yes
More old world!
Alan Bligh, A legend that is sorely missed. This is excellent, thanks.
Old school scary 40K and old fantasy stories are the best
My friends and I just started playing Old World. My soldiers of Ostermark recently won a victory against a prancing Knights of Bretonnia.
Thinking about redoing some of the Total War footage to use Tamurkhan from the Thrones of Decay?
Hell yeah ABP, more MOAR. Thank you very much, fantastic narration.
Oh yes BP! you are awesome! Thank you for reviving this old piece!
Are you planning to do more "old world" novels?
One of your best retellings of a fantastic piece of Warhammer lore.
Your doing the Emperor's work.

Absolutely amazing work! I loved that gobbo cackle :)
I'm very excited to see Tamurkhan in Total War.
Seriously what is it with nuln? I know it's the most progressive in the empire, but how many skaven invasions and vampire infiltrations can one city take? Not to mention you have this guy marching I'm here about tear up the place.

Painting grimdark Nurgle 40k to this is perfect. Experimenting with enamels , oils, resin ! Makes me want to make a fantasy war band or a diorama.
This was great mate can’t wait to hear the next one 😊😊😊
This was amazing, hats off to you good sir. You have inspired me to get my old Warriors of Chaos army out of the cabinet, re-based and stride into the old world.
Wow, great choice for a story! Thank you!
I remember my friend actually had the Tamurkhan model

I read all these man back in the day. We see how things go I thinking wine of dreams at some point
hmm i need to try space marine out.ive hadit but assumned it would just be like the first bolter porn ever.

Is Tamurkhan the Maggot Lord in 40K ever? that would be wild, because most characters always cross over
