They are not the easiest to get here in the US given their direct model. They do make a solid watch for the price though so we can certainly try to cover them more going forward.
I paid $91.00 in import fees for my Trident. Love the watch; but I'll think twice when comparing new purchases. Considered the Hydrococonquest, but settled on the Trident. But the import fees may drive a different decision as I go up the price/value scale.
Agree with this comment, please do more CW watches. I bought the C60 Trident Chronograph on sale (about $500 off!) last week, it is fantastic. My order had free shipping although that might have been a result of the sale.
The SPB223J1 version in white is a killer. I do think the presage series of Seiko are just a killer of watches all together. I was never attracted by the GS but the presage are growing in to me :)
I also have a SPB223J1… it is absolutely a contender especially if Teddy has introduced a British GMT in the line up. Seiko Presage GMT will be the strongest here for value for money given it has the true GMT function. It is a little disappointing that it was overlooked when looking at non-Swiss competitive GMTs.
@@gyunayify why not? It is all in house! Real gmt and they are amazing! Have you held one? Have you held a Seiko LX model? Those cost over 2k … have you held a porcelain or hand enameled seiko presage? Its funny that people discard Seiko for “Swiss” when Seiko is the largest manufacturer in the world… fully vertically integrated unlike lets say… most Swiss companies… I own seikos that cost 200$ and some that cost 4k! I own Omegas and other Swiss! I am not married to any brand… but i do like seiko hahaha
Yes- the Seiko 6R64 movement. It will jump by hour click-stops to local time without disturbing the master time zone. And they are beauties- the green-dial model SPB219 in particular looks fabulous.
I wanted to get a Seiko Sharp Edge GMT, which is absolutely great from a price point perspective. Unfortunately, I didn't proceed because after seeing it in person, I thought that the dial is really too busy for my taste.
CW are brilliant imho. I have the C63 Sealander 39 mm GMT. I set the 2nd time zone hour to our Middle East office time as a reminder. Looks great and with the easy change straps is versatile. A bargain at £700!
I’ve owned the Tudor GMT for about three months and I’m really pleased with it . I had obvious concerns regarding the date issue as mentioned on forums, but I’ve had no problems at all with mine, having worn it continuously since getting it . Also the faux rivets on the bracelet are a stumbling block for some people, but once on the wrist I never notice them. The viewing angle makes them pretty much impossible for the wearer to see.
The Mido Ocean Star GMT uses a true GMT function and costs almost the same than the CW with the Powermatic 80 movement and 200M WR. What a bargain! Amazing video.
Very well finished, too. A bit of a chunky monkey but that’s true of many of today’s GMT watches, not just the Mido. A slimmer good-value Swiss GMT is the Glycine Combat Sub.
For the money, Christopher Ward makes some really nice watches. I love Bell & Ross dials, they are laid out in a way that I think gets it right. The Tudor GMT is my favorite GMT out there.
Had the issue twice with the Tudor, ended up selling and Buying the Breitling Avenger 2. It actually tells 3 time zones. Perfect for me as I travel quite a lot.
I had the same issue twice as well. After being told the repair, the 2nd time, would take 26 weeks to fix, the AD gladly refunded the cost to go towards another watch. Got the Pelagos instead.
I also have the Tudor BB GMT and Breitling Avenger 2 GMT. I have not had an issue with the Tudor since I bought it after they resolved the date change issue. The Breitling is an amazing watch and although not a true GMT, still performs the function and tells three time zones.
For me the best value in GMT’s is the Mido Ocean Star GMT, the quality, the finishing, accuracy and having a true GMT for less than $1,500 is unbeatable! I got one for almost a year now and I couldn’t be happier with it! Nice video and keep the good work my friend!
I have the Tudor GMT - purchased Dec 2019. Mine did have the date problem but weirdly it would only suffer the problem if you left it to change date automatically. It would never skip a date while manually advancing the watch. Tudor fixed it under warranty and the watch is fine now. All that being said I'm pretty unimpressed that a watch of this heritage (and cost) has a date change issue at all. I have a few £100 Chinese "Pagani" watches and all have been faultless. I'm surprised Tudor didn't get more backlash after this and that they didn't lose their "quality" brand status.
I am sure Tudor were surprised too lol. It’s not about what problems companies have, it’s about how they deal with them. It has zero ‘heritage’. It was a completely new movement! They clearly have a high quality to cost ratio, which is I’m guessing why you purchased it. The Pagani’s probably have a Seiko movement. If mine plays up I will just get it fixed. I will not act like a little girl and want to shame the company publicly if (like seems to be the case with yours) they man up and fix it. Don’t buy a new Ferrari if you want Toyota Corolla reliability.
I feel doesn't get mentioned enough- there are many scenarios where the office GMT is actually preferable! Especially these days when traveling less but still doing international business. I'd also add Monta to the list for watches to look at
I agree. Most people have no real need for a “travellers” GMT. Not even modern pilots who tend to fly the same route. For a watch collector with more than a couple of days rotation the traveller GMT can be a pig to set unless you keep it on a wonder. I don’t travel much so personally prefer an office gmt for the ease of changing reference time if needed.
I've had a Ball GMT for six months now, the best watch I've owned. Bought a Tudor GMT new but returned it because it kept stopping. My Ball has day-date, pushers to quickly change the time, ceramic bezel. and is COSC certified. can track 3 time zones. I have a timegrapher and it's about 2 seconds per day +/_ .
Finally, the GMT users get some love! Thank you, Teddy. Fingers crossed for more soon. You make what are arguably the best watch vids on YT. Keep up the great work!
I bought the Bell&Ross BRV2-93, it’s just got a more classic look, it’s thinner and can be worn with almost any outfit. I was told that the Tudor is great, but if you need maintenance on it, you have to send it back to Tudor vs taking it back to local jewler for ETA movements.
I enjoyed the comparisons. I own the CW C63 Sealander Which is 39mm dia & has the Sellita SW330.2 movement with the uprated power reserve of 56 hours. I absolutely love this watch & IMO it punches well above its weight in quality & finish versus price.
how good are Christopher Ward watches?? I am planning to add the CW moonglow to my collection... Any suggestions or more about the watch brand would be very helpful... I am debating as the price is around $2.5K so.. thnx
In the Christopher Ward collection, I would pick the C63 Sealander GMT with the SW330-2 and its 56h PW in 39mm. With many beautiful dial colors to choose from. 😎
Love my Tudor BB GMT, been super happy with it! I haven’t had any issues with the movement and the date function so far. Also funnily enough, I’ve noticed you a couple of times at the AD where I picked it up although I didn’t want to bother you
Hi Teddy, I have the Tudor with the date issue. I bought it second hand (its a 2019). Took it to the this year AD who sent it to Tudor for a warranty work. Got it back, works as a charm. Love it.
Congratulations, another homerun Teddy! Very informative and entertaining without being preachy or condescending. I have owned a Tudor GMT for about three years and have nothing but good things to say about it.
As I understand, the Tudor GMT date issue has been resolved ever since serial numbers began starting with Q. Anecdotally I can attest, I've had my Tudor GMT for about six months and have had zero issues
I picked mine up in November 2020. No issues at all. I was assured that mine had been produced after the issue was already history. Seems the AD was correct! It’s a great watch, very easily worn every day, and invaluable when travelling across time zones every week.
I’ve owned my Tudor BB GMT 3 months, and I’ve also yet to experience the date wheel issue. From what I see on reddit or forums pieces manufactured/sold sometime after 2020 seem not to have the date wheel issue, while a lot of the watches sold in 2018 or 2019 that I’ll see hit the market these days seem to call out that the date wheel issue already happened, and the owner sent the piece in to Rolex for service.
I've owned the BB GMT for almost 2 years and haven't had an issue with it (specifically the date window). I've also owned an "office GMT" from Christopher Ward (an older model with the orange indices) and for the life of me I don't think either type is superior. The jumping hour is a neat feature, but it's not absolutely necessary to me. And regarding the faux rivets on the bracelet, if you don't have a problem with the Royal Oak's hex screws in hex holes (un-turnable) then you shouldn't have an issue with the rivets.
The differences between a caller and a flier GMT are easier to see on watches without rotating bezels, for example the blackbay pro and the sealander GMT. With the blackbay pro, switching the remote/home time to a different time zone or adjusting it for daylight savings is tedious, since you have to hack the movement, fully reset the time and 24h hand and then change the local time again. A caller makes changing your remote/home time very easy since you can move the 24h hand freely, but changing your local time zone, perhaps when flying to a different city, requires hacking, and moving a 4 hands. A flier GMT with a rotating bezel is the best. Set your 24h hand to show actual UTC, and then remote time can be changed by rotating the bezel and local by jumping the local hours.
My BB GMT started having date issue 7 months in (purchased in may 2019). Sent in for repair and got it back in Jan 2020; never had problem ever since then.
Have owned the Tudor GMT for 6 months. Zero problems with the date wheel, and the accuracy is to the second: I can set it, and weeks later it hasn’t gained or lost any time at all. Took it to Florida in August and wore it in the ocean every day. Very happy with the watch.
I've been wearing the Tudor GMT daily at work as an airline pilot for a while now. Mine had the date glitch but was serviced a little over a year ago and has worked flawlessly ever since. It is a bit chunky but I still love using it at work with the timezone changes.
Hello, I switched the bracelet to the leather strap witch wears lighter and not as chunky. The Nato strap is also nice for the summer and to switch up the look.
I do love it too, Takes a little getting use to but over all great watch. Very underrated and I have the Rolex GMT as well but I wear the Tudor. Happy New Year.
This exemplifies quite well why people have gravitated to CW (for example). It's difficult to justify the Bell & Ross at that price, when you consider that the movement is pretty much the same as the CW (a bit more refined) and that the case and finishing are pretty much on a par. You do get a bit more history etc of course; but for many/most that's probably not going to represent 3.5 times the value.
Thank you, Teddy, for this GMT presentation. I am still light regarding my understanding of GMT utilization, but, your video went a long way toward helping me understand them more fully. All my best.
Hi Teddy, great video as usual! I bought the Tudor Black Bay GMT about 6 months ago. Initially, I had some issues getting used to the watch, especially the bracelet’s fit on my 7 inch wrist. But, the more time I’ve spent with it, the more I love it. I’ve swam in the ocean and hiked in the mountains with it and it’s always performed admirably. I’ve had no issues with the date function. This was my first “luxury” purchase and the versatility, robust build and style have made it a daily wear for me.
My BBGMT never had the date issue. I did ship it off to have a dented bezel fixed. They clearly worked on the movement as it came back FAR more accurately adjusted. Unclear if they just did a better job with the timing after service or if other work was done. In any case, it is an awesome timepiece. Super happy with it over two years of ownership.
Bought the Tudor GMT in Feb 2021 and have kept it running since, no date issues with it. Love the watch. The faux rivets aren't noticeable on the wrist but a change the bracelet for leather much lighter for it.
I own the Tudor BB GMT. Was just wearing it today by coincidence in fact. It's an excellent GMT watch and there are no issues with the date window. I heard that current batches of the Tudor BB GMT do not have this issue from my AD but I'm not sure how true that is. The easy identifiable marker I guess would be year of production. Mine is a 2021 model. As some have pointed out, serial numbers beginning with Q are the key identifier that would be more accurate. This is arguably the best true GMT on the market atm.
Should I pull the trigger??? I wish I could try one on in person. I’m leaning towards the Tissot PRX quartz ($400) but I’m thinking of buying a CW…. I just went through their catalog and wowwww. Their watches $800-$1000 look AMAZING. I dunno
@@briannovak5028 Hey man I just purchased my 2nd CW just right off the bat they really are an amazing value - I've just started to sell off some of my collection to try and make better sense of the purpose of my watch collection and WILL NOT consider selling my CW pieces. I'm speaking strictly of their pieces in the $625-$890 price point watches. So I say find the coupon they always have out there for $125 and get a CW!
@@briannovak5028 depending on where you are in the world try to find one used. I have the Dartmouth and they are beautiful watches for the price with amazing bracelets.
I bought my Tudor GMT in Sep 2021 and haven't had any date issues. I've been wearing it almost daily and have only had to wind it about 3 times due to me not wearing it during that time. It is "Q" serial numbered watch and I've read on different forums that these "Q" serial watches don't have the date issue. If you want a true GMT watch, the Tudor GMT is the best value out there. I've owned Tudor Pelagos, BB58 Navy Blue, BB36 blue, Tudor Submariner 75190 and two different Tudor Prince Date Day two tone, and the GMT is by far my favourite.
Great, very helpful fair and informative review of affordable GMTs. Your solid value review of the Christopher Ward made me look more closely on the Christopher Ward. I very much Appreciate the "TD style" you bring to your your you tube watch talks.
The intro to this video was truly a work of art, great job Teddy and the team! However, not mentioning the Seiko Sharp Edge GMT was a missed opportunity. Would love to see a video on the Series 8 line of watches from Citizen too!
I purchased the Tudor BB GMT new in March, 2020 and ran into the date issue in 7 months later. The date would either advance a half, or one and a half dates. I sent it to the RSC in Dallas, and they rectified the problem. Love this watch. Thanks for the great review of the 3 GMT's...I especially like that CW.
I have the Tudor gmt and love it. Bought one on grey market in early 2020 and sadly returned bc of datewheel. Repurchased the GMT again in September of 2021 and no issues.
I bought my Tudor GMT nearly two years ago. While it has one of the letters in the serial number that designates a potential date issue, I've never experienced any issues. My sample runs at 0 to +2 seconds per day and the movement feels amazing when winding, even when compared to my 214270 MkII Explorer. My GMT is one watch in my collection that generates the most compliments, especially from those familiar with that infamous "R" brand! It is a beautiful, robust and versatile watch. The design is classic, but not outdated. Having an 8.2" wrist, it's a great fit for me. Thanks for these reviews, Teddy. I find them to be quite refreshing and thoughtful especially when compared to the other "professionals" out there!
I bought the Tudor GMT at a shop in New Orleans during a conference in the fall of 2019. They were a bit of a unicorn back then. I was aware of the date issue, thought I got an example that was past it. Fast forward to summer of 2021 - I notice that the date is jumping. Of course I thought I must have pulled the crown too far, or failed to set a 30/31 transition. Reset the date and it drifted again. Took it to the AD in Philadelphia for a repair under the 2 year warranty (just made that BTW).The senior rep in the shop (Greg@Govberg) got the issue to replicate in just a few minutes. The description on the slip at pick-up read "complete overhaul". Given the pandemic and that the AD had to ship the watch out to Rolex for service, I never did get any clarification on the repair description. Though so far, so good, no issues with the date or other functionality - love the Tudor GMT.
Mine did the same thing and "knock on wood" It's running as it should since getting it back. It spent about 4 Months at RSC in Dallas during the Covid-19 shutdown.
Bought my Tudor BB GMT in September 2019, flawless until July 2020, date wheel stuck then would skip. Sent back for warranty repair, took about 8 weeks and has been rock solid since. It is a stunning watch in the metal and I love the proportions.
Had the Tudor GMT for over a year now and have had no problems with the date mechanism. The look and feel of it on your wrist is next level. Love the weight on it too. Definitely a watch that brought be back into the watch craze. Thanks for this episode, Teddy. Always informative and helpful.
I bought the Tudor Pepsi GMT with the jump date problem. At the beginning I was wondering myself what was wrong, Doing tests on a 24 hr period, because the watch only jumped the date when I wasn’t wearing it. I thought it was a ghost or something messing with me. Started looking and found out on UA-cam the Jumpdate problem with others who had the same situation. So I took I it to the AD and they sent it to Tudor. Fixed (for free) the watch and now I’m happy! Love the Tudor, specially on leather straps. Thank you!!
I have owned my Tudor GMT since August 2020 and have had no problems with it. In fact it keeps time wonderfully. In my opinion it is a wonderful travel watch that is a dive watch too (bearing in mind that the primary purpose of a dive watch is to time a controlled ascent , in conjunction with a mechanical depth gauge, if one’s dive computer fails - thus an elapsed time recorder is not essential as divers should surface if their computer stops working!)
I own the Tudor BB GMT. Purchased fall of 2019. Had the date issue in May of 2020. Sent it back to Tudor in Switzerland. It was delayed because of the pandemic but I received the watch back in September 2020 and I have not had a single issue since.
I have a CW C65 GMT Worldtimer and use it to use FaceTime with relatives in two different countries. I love the watch and think it is brilliant for the esthetics and value.
Ive owned the Tudor GMT for nearly 3 years now, I can honestly say it hasn't missed a beat..... I believe the date fault was on the very early watches and have since be fixed....... Great video on the channel once again.... Ive been binge watching your channel catching up on all the videos I've missed.......
Got the Tudor GMT in early July 2018. Apparently the issue was really common among earlier owners, where the date wheel will jump two days. So instead of going from the 4/20 to 4/21, it'll jump straight to 4/22 and so on. AD said that it could be fixed by sending it back, but I decided to sell it instead as I wasn't a fan of having just bought a "faulty" watch. Kind of regret it though because it seems as though it definitely was an easier fix and many owners were able to have theirs fixed within a few weeks.
I’ve learned about Farer thru Teddy and must say they do a very pretty good GMT with or w/out rotating bezel that for me are a bit more “inspiring” than CW to be honest. Love these comparisons though, every time learning a bit more
Doesn't the new CW 63 GMT have a new sw330-2 that is able to set independently? I could be remembering wrong though. If so, that works make it even more desirable. Nice vid Teddy, thanks.
I've owned the Tudor GMT for about 6 months and have no concerns whatsoever. I love everything about it. The main points of contention, the thickness and bracelet rivets, are not a concern to me. I also agree with your assessment of the bezel, definite quality. Thanks for another great video.
Hey Teddy! Big fan, you have been a wealth of knowledge for me to begin my watch journey. I tried searching but have you reviewed the breitling Transocean chrono GMT? the limited edition version I fell in love with the panda dial and i can’t find much info out there for it Thank you!
I own a 2018 BB GMT and had an issue with the date wheel. I sent it back for warranty repair and after about 90 days the watch was returned to me with a new movement. The watch has operate flawlessly since the warranty repair. I collect true GMT watches and I actually prefer this watch over my Batman or Explorer II. It is an awesome watch.
Greetings I have been watching a long time. Enjoy your content. I have a strange question. I get a newsletter from a higher end Swiss watch maker. The other day while browsing had a shock one of the new models is a dead ringer for my 30+ year old datejust. Is this legal? the copy I will call it is not inexpensive 3200$ I mean dead ringer I got mine out and was shocked. What do you think and Happy New Year!
Have the Tudor GMT. It’s a great watch. A little tall for sliding under the cuff. It wears better on a leather strap. I’ve owned it for two years. The date issue just started to happen. Took it back to the AD. No questions asked. They sent it back to the Tudor for repair.
The Glycine GMT have the same 4-hand movement as the CW (with a better bi-directional bezel) and are available at much lower prices. I own both and like both. A lower price is very attractive.
Ugh… Any possible way you could put links to the specific model of watches you demo? I went to CW site…couldn’t find the C65 GMT you used in video. Is it an older model out of production?
I purchased a Tudor GMT April of 2019 and my 1st concern was the slightly misaligned bezel. I sent it to RSC in Dallas and they fixed that problem. Approximately 9 months later I woke up to the date wheel jumping two days so I reset it and it continued to do the double date jump 2 more times so I had my AD send it back to RSC in Dallas. This unfortunately occurred days before the USA basically shut down for Covid-19. My watch was gone for about 4 months and since has been in good working order. Tudor- Rolex did not divulge nor would they admit there was a problem with the "Date Wheel Issue" but I have been told by the FB crowd that they replace the Movement.
Does the Tudor warranty cover the date wheel issue? And will they after the “warranty” expires? And what’s the bill like after a complete over haul to repair the watch like ?
Good video; always enjoy your take on specific watch related subjects. Where do you think Hamilton Khaki GMT fit in? It has 2893-2 and is priced about the same as CW. I have always wondering how does it compared. For me, I am forever looking for a GMT with 60 minute bezel (instead of 24hr) but it's relatively hard to find. Of course, Mido ocean star would be another good choice. Just unfortunately that both Khaki and Ocran are 44mm which bit large for me.
I own the Tudor GMT for almost two years now, been wearing it almost daily. …. And I have to say: I absolutely love it! Also had absolutely no issues with the date. Mine switches its date wheel around 2 minutes after midnight. What I like the most is, that it does not get noticed like a Rolex GMT would. But to be honest I would love it a tiny bit more if the case would be 1 or 2 mm lower.
Why no Seiko Presage Sharp Edge GMT? True GMT at the USD1.4k price point (as of 2021, you can probably get them cheaper), sexy look (*very* business meeting friendly ie perfect for all the jet-setting business people out there), tasteful yet very functional lume, exceptional finishing, and comes with a very balanced feature set (do you really need more than 100m water resist if you're a jet-setter?). That 140th anniversary colorway is very chefs-kiss.gif, but if that's not available I'd recommend the blue-and-salmon colorway. Although a bit... western centric, nice work here. Yes Seiko has it's QC problems below the Grand Seiko line, but all things equal they're still very much value for money these days. PS - those GMT Grand Seikos are... ugh. Crazy horology there, but us lesser mortals have to 'settle' with the Presage line. That Sharp Edge dial and hands are ooofff, so so sexy for the price.
We can do a Seiko vs Mido comparison for budget true GMTs in the future. Including either in a video like this would make it unfair for the competition haha.
I experienced the date issue. I sent to Tudor for warranty servicing. Took almost 6 months to get it returned. Appears to be fixed now and haven’t experienced date issue since servicing.
I am on my second Tudor GMT. The first one went back to AD because of date skip issue. The one I currently own is a Q serial number and is also experiencing the date skip issue.
GMT and Annual Calendar are my two personal favourite complications. I own two GMTs, a Rolex GMT II LN Y series from 2002, a Tudor GMT from early 2020 - bought used Jan 2021 and I haven't had an issue. The BB GMT is my main watch. I am also about to get an Explorer II 16570 Polar.
Great review as always Teddy. You pack 30lb of info in 15 min. Would like to know your thoughts on the new Vaer GMT, and the Baltic Auquascaphe GMT, at around $1200.
Great video! I love a GMT complication. I travel often, all of my radio hobby is done in UTC, and my in-laws live in Asia. Keeping track of all three on my wrist is great!. I have the older Omega Seamaster 300M GMT (50th Anniversary) and it's a great watch, but wanted something a little more modern... I don't really love Seiko or Tudor, so I went with the Norqain Neverest GMT. I couldn't be happier. This watch truly tickles my fancy!
I have the Tudor GMT. I have had no issues whatsoever with the date function. Truthfully, its a great watch and just as good as others I have that cost quite a bit more.
I have the Tudor gmt. Love the watch. Have had it for about 11 months, no mechanical issues. My one complaint is the bracelet, not enough micro adjustments for my wrist, it’s either too tight or too loose. If it had the pelagos bracelet it would be perfect
No date issues with my Tudor GMT that I bought new from my AD two years ago in December 2019. However it’s also not my daily wearer; sometimes I go several weeks before it makes it onto my wrist. Great watch for the money.
Own the Tudor gmt. Have had no issues with the movement or date. It's pretty solid overall, and I agree that it is the best in this grouping. Definitely a great deal for the price. the snowflake hands take some getting used to, but after that it's an amazing time piece.
Antoine Mozart The standards given (+ or - 3 secs) are the worst case scenarios. Usually the watches are a lot more precise. I have a GMT with the ETA 2893-2 movement and it runs at 1 or 2 secs a day since I bought it 4 years ago! This is a movement that has no chronograph or ANY OTHER standards yet it runs perfectly, in a 600€ watch.
Mine has been running at +0.2 seconds per day over 28 days. I bought it used in November - was originally sold in July 2018. No date wheel issue so far.
Great to see Christopher Ward being covered on the channel. I'd love to see more of their watches featured
Yes please do more CW reviews. I love the brand. Their bracelets are awesome.
They are not the easiest to get here in the US given their direct model. They do make a solid watch for the price though so we can certainly try to cover them more going forward.
@@TeddyBaldassarre they are delivered via DHL and along with customs fees. Usually under $50.00. They are worth it. This year I bought 5 CWs!
Just to mention - the Seiko Presage Sharp Edge GMT is a "true" GMT for around £1200. Counts as an in-house movement too.
I was gonna mention this… both the one with bezel and the bezeless that released recently are true gmt and priced great! And in house!
Who would spend that much money on a Seiko
@@gyunayify why not? It is all in house! Real gmt and they are amazing! Have you held one? Have you held a Seiko LX model? Those cost over 2k … have you held a porcelain or hand enameled seiko presage? Its funny that people discard Seiko for “Swiss” when Seiko is the largest manufacturer in the world… fully vertically integrated unlike lets say… most Swiss companies…
I own seikos that cost 200$ and some that cost 4k! I own Omegas and other Swiss!
I am not married to any brand… but i do like seiko hahaha
Gotta mention Seiko's Sharp Edge GMT and Ocean Traveler lines: "true" or traveler's GMT in-house movements packing huge value for under $1500 retail!
Yes- the Seiko 6R64 movement. It will jump by hour click-stops to local time without disturbing the master time zone. And they are beauties- the green-dial model SPB219 in particular looks fabulous.
Excellent point.
I wanted to get a Seiko Sharp Edge GMT, which is absolutely great from a price point perspective. Unfortunately, I didn't proceed because after seeing it in person, I thought that the dial is really too busy for my taste.
Working on a video about them as we speak!
@@TeddyBaldassarre cool, it will be very interesting to see what you (and the wider community) thinks about those GMTs!

Yes, the Sealander would have been a better option to review. I have the polar and green dials. Would recommend this as a good gmt.
I have agree rustisamust
I’ve owned the Tudor GMT for about three months and I’m really pleased with it . I had obvious concerns regarding the date issue as mentioned on forums, but I’ve had no problems at all with mine, having worn it continuously since getting it . Also the faux rivets on the bracelet are a stumbling block for some people, but once on the wrist I never notice them. The viewing angle makes them pretty much impossible for the wearer to see.
Teddy, your presentations continue to be of the highest quality and extremely interesting.
Appreciate that, Michael. I am glad the hard work required to make these is noticed haha.
Great video. I’ve heard Bell & Ross is looked down upon in watch circles. Is this true?
Apart from wearing black against a black background, his head looks like it's been disembodied!
The Mido Ocean Star GMT uses a true GMT function and costs almost the same than the CW with the Powermatic 80 movement and 200M WR. What a bargain! Amazing video.
Mido has some nice offerings. They, and Certina are under-marketed.
@@TommyRibs Indeed they are. Specially here in the 🇺🇲. The Swatch Group doesn't want any competition for Tissot.
I agree. The Mido Ocean Start GMT is a very nice watch.
@@TommyRibs I’m in between certina and mido. Both are great
Very well finished, too.
@teddy can you add a review for the Breitling Avenger GMT?
I had the same issue twice as well. After being told the repair, the 2nd time, would take 26 weeks to fix, the AD gladly refunded the cost to go towards another watch. Got the Pelagos instead.
I also have the Tudor BB GMT and Breitling Avenger 2 GMT. I have not had an issue with the Tudor since I bought it after they resolved the date change issue. The Breitling is an amazing watch and although not a true GMT, still performs the function and tells three time zones.
Sorry I don't believe it
For me the best value in GMT’s is the Mido Ocean Star GMT, the quality, the finishing, accuracy and having a true GMT for less than $1,500 is unbeatable! I got one for almost a year now and I couldn’t be happier with it! Nice video and keep the good work my friend!
The hands on the Mido are just hideous
Love the MIDO. Just wish it wasn't so big.
Agree. Nothing better for that price. I was able to get mine for $1K.
@@alfieakaronaldog 🤣Good one! You sorted that bitch out!
I feel doesn't get mentioned enough- there are many scenarios where the office GMT is actually preferable! Especially these days when traveling less but still doing international business. I'd also add Monta to the list for watches to look at
Good call on the Monta!
Love it.
Teddy! A legend as ALWAYS! Fantastic video! I love a GMT. Probably the most useful complication! 👏🏻❤️ loved your choice!
Same here, I’ve had mine roughly six months also without issues
I’m on mine in March runs perfect
Don't Jinx yourself....
Thanks for the comment, Mark. Great to have some additional support on this in the comments from owners.
@@fathertimechannel I agree, I wear the nato with mine daily and it's very comfy. I love this watch
Recently bought the Tudor GMT from an AD, love it, no issues with the date advancing more than expected.
Christopher Ward C63 is my pick, only does 2 time zones since it has an Explorer II style fixed bezel but it seems phenomenal for the price. 39mm too!
hi!! nice viedo!! what do you think from the davosa GMT ande the steinhart?? wich one is better??? thanks
How expensive was that?
@@antonv5488 just over $300 ( yes I was pissed but happy it ran so much better)
I’ve worn my Tudor GMT since March 2021 and have no issues with the date movement. I love the watch.
Would love to see more Christopher Ward reviews.
Should I pull the trigger??? I wish I could try one on in person. I’m leaning towards the Tissot PRX quartz ($400) but I’m thinking of buying a CW…. I just went through their catalog and wowwww. Their watches $800-$1000 look AMAZING. I dunno
@@briannovak5028 go for a Christopher Ward. I discovered the brand this year and now have 5!
That Bell & Ross date window is one of the best implementations of a 4:30 date window ive seen
Far too small and difficult to read unfortunately, IMO.
YES, I have been waiting for a good GMT comparison!
Bought my Tudor BB GMT in September 2019, flawless until July 2020, date wheel stuck then would skip. Sent back for warranty repair, took about 8 weeks and has been rock solid since. It is a stunning watch in the metal and I love the proportions.
I own the Pepsi version of the CW GMT and love the watch. They are doing great things!
I have multiple CH WARD'S. Excellent value.
Got my Tudor GMT in 2020 and its been perfect performance exceeds cosc. Not to mention it looks amazing I love it
Had the Tudor GMT for over a year now and have had no problems with the date mechanism.
Thanks for the review. I plan to purchase a Tudor GMT in January, your video is very helpful.
I own the Tudor BB GMT. Purchased fall of 2019. Had the date issue in May of 2020. Sent it back to Tudor in Switzerland. It was delayed because of the pandemic but I received the watch back in September 2020 and I have not had a single issue since.
Have the Tudor and have had 0 issues with the date. I travel with it often and it take a beating without missing a beat.
I have a CW C65 GMT Worldtimer and use it to use FaceTime with relatives in two different countries. I love the watch and think it is brilliant for the esthetics and value.
That Bell and Ross looks so good. I keep coming back to it.
I own the Tudor GMT and have had zero issues with the date function or anything else. Clean look and wears well. Very happy with my watch!
Owned the BBGMT for just about a year now with no issues whatsoever. It also looks good on whatever strap I put it on, just can't go wrong.
I’ve learned about Farer thru Teddy and must say they do a very pretty good GMT with or w/out rotating bezel that for me are a bit more “inspiring” than CW to be honest. Love these comparisons though, every time learning a bit more
Almost every one of CW’s designs is derivative of something else on the market. Farer has dazzling designs and better higher grade movements to boot.
I have that Bell&Ross and I absolutely love it! For the price point it's way above in quality!
Wow the Christopher Ward is really nice!!! Cool intro too😎
Hey Teddy! Big fan, you have been a wealth of knowledge for me to begin my watch journey.
I tried searching but have you reviewed the breitling Transocean chrono GMT? the limited edition version
I fell in love with the panda dial and i can’t find much info out there for it
Thank you!
Thank you for the information given in this video, it helped me a lot to understand GMT complication.
I love the look and the size of the Christopher Ward C65 but is not on their website. Is this new? How did you get?? Thanks
I have a Tudor BB GMT and I haven't experienced the date issue. Mine runs flawlessly!
I really like my Glycine GMT. That was my first GMT watch and it still gets wrist time.
Ugh…
Any possible way you could put links to the specific model of watches you demo?
Gotta love that piece of lint on the tip of the second hand…
GMT and Annual Calendar are my two personal favourite complications. I own two GMTs, a Rolex GMT II LN Y series from 2002, a Tudor GMT from early 2020 - bought used Jan 2021 and I haven't had an issue. The BB GMT is my main watch. I am also about to get an Explorer II 16570 Polar.
I have had my Tudor GMT for about 7 months and have not had any issues. Hopefully, the issue has been resolved.
No issues with the date function on my BB GMT. Bought mine October 2020. Buy it.
Great review as always Teddy. You pack 30lb of info in 15 min. Would like to know your thoughts on the new Vaer GMT, and the Baltic Auquascaphe GMT, at around $1200.
I own the CW C65 GMT Worldtimer and I love it! Fantastic watch.
The GMT is my favorite complication 🤘🏻
Love my BB GMT. Fortunately haven’t had the date wheel issue yet. 5 year warranty eases the mind on that though
I have the Tudor GMT I swear it keeps the best time of any mechanical watch I’ve owned. Runs about a second fast per week
Impossible. They are Master chronometer certified. Their accuracy is in general the same as Omega.

The standards given (+ or - 3 secs) are the worst case scenarios.
