Another great vid. My current 3 watch rotation consists of: my serious everyday Omega Planet Ocean 37.5, a fun weekend watch, the Bulova Accutron Devil Diver from the 70s and an elegant dress watch, being the 126300 datejust in white.
as a new watch enthusiast, i once bought the seiko turtle (srp777) in the military 10 years ago. I am a one brand pony, but I have grown very fond of seiko and maybe someday I will broaden my horizon!
Great video Teddy, I have the U50 in Titanium. Using that currently as my everyday watch. Next will be the Omega Aqua Terra. I think I should be satisfied with those 2 for the time being.
Nice approach to the video! My 3 watches in each category from all you covered (regardless of price) would be... Everyday - Omega Aqua Terra Dressy - Reverso in ox blood Sport - Sinn U1 Approximate total = $2, 000
I'm glad to see the Orient Maestro here again as, after discovering your website and channel yesterday, i found this Orient very attractive and pure in his design, exactly what i love. I should receive mine tomorrow after a compulsive online purchase... i do love that blue/green. :)
Teddy, your videos are awesome. Thanks for creating and sharing your enthusiasm. Almost everyone I know who wears a watch, has a Casio or a Timex. I know these fall well below the average watch you cover in your videos, but I think it may be helpful for more people to know what 3-watch collection they can achieve within their brand preference. Please consider it, because no one, that I am aware of, has created a video for that target market. Thanks!
I think most people who watch these videos are guys and gals whose watch "collection" includes primary watches that range from $25 to $300...including me. Enjoy what we have and work hard to get that dream watch!✌🏽
If I have to choose 3 from my collection I’d go for: - Breitling Chronomat GMT 40 Green as the sporty option - Grand Seiko SBGA413 40 as everyday watch - Zenith El Primero Rainbow ‘95 as chrono with leather strap for a more dressy environment
As a relatively casual guy I like watches that walk the line between dressy and sporty. My current lineup is Speedmaster pro and sea dweller 43. If I were to add a third I’d be lusting after a blue dial Yachtmaster 40. If no more Rolex then I’d probably look at JLC or pick up an Aqua Terra.
My current 3 watch collection. Everyday: Omega Seamaster Railmaster blue dial Dressy: Fears Brunswick Salmon dial Fun: Oris Big Crown Fratello edition - bronze with red dial
Awesome video. My dream 3 watch collection would be a 1. grand seiko quartz with that gold star (+-5 sec per year accuracy), 2. Rolex oyster perpetual (just to scratch that itch and have a great fitting watch), 3 Omega SeaMaster aqua terra or 300c
My current 4 watch collection: Tudor black bay 58 black Omega speedmaster professional hesalite Rolex black sub 126610ln Rolex datejust 41mm chocolate dial Really enjoying my journey as a watch collector and looking forward to adding a IWC portugieser to my collection next year if finances allow me too.
Christopher Ward C60, C63 and the C65 are simply the best value out there! You just can’t beat them. Another amazing deal is the older Selita movement Oris Aquis .
3 watch collection is ideal--you have choices but it's not a neurosis. agreed on the general categories. my sweet spot is one sporty watch (a diver for the water resistance), one dressier one with gold tones and another dressier one with silver tones (for each belt/buckle combination)
Good topic idea: watches to wear to different formal occasions i.e. dinner party, wedding, night out at the symphony/Opera etc. And at different price points.
I'm going for a three watch collection where I wanted one Rolex, one Omega, and one Grand Seiko since to me these 3 are like the not-as-holy-trinity compared with the actual holy trinity of AP, PP, and VC. So far I have the Rolex Datejust 36mm (126234) and I'll be getting an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 39.5mm soon. For the Grand Seiko, I want it to be a Spring Drive and probably something on the dressier side.
oh I like this concept. i totally agree with your selection of the next tier holy trinity… Teddy should do a holy trinity by tier vid… Casio Timex Swatch, Tissot Hamilton Seiko, etc. only put together by a pro!
"watch collectors usually dont know how many watches they actually need"..... my dad has 450ish of them for some reason. Most are old slavic watches but there are some very nice ones in there too
So I'll be honest I started watch collecting in the past year. And am just having fun right now. Now replicas of course but I've done some micro brands and homages and like what I have but eventually I will be pairing all that down to a 5 watch collection. Hopefully a 4k budget.
my 3 watch dream collection: - Rolex OP Black Dial - $5,800 - Jaeger Master Ultra Thin Date Black Leather Strap - $8,100 - Junghan Meister Classic Milanese Strap - $1,550 for me the prefect collection:-)
Great video Teddy! My current 3 watch collection is a Panerai PAM 0049 that was a wedding gift from my wife so it will always be there. My last two are as follows, an Omega Seamaster 300 and Zenith A386 Manufacture Edition. All of them with white dials which I do love. I may add a fourth, but very happy with the three that I do have!. For me white dials is the way to go.
Another great set of watches. I really like a few Omegas as all around, everyday watches, but none are exactly perfect… Aqua Terra has the applied indicies, twisted lugs and exhibition caseback, but wish there was an all brushed version like the Railmaster, which is so close but the face is all flat and I really want to see the co-axial movement. The ‘21 Seasmaster 300 is another cool watch with a similar vibe, and at least a reversal of the polished to the outer links so it’s not quite as shiny, but it has the straight lugs… decisions…
You can't go wrong with Omega. I wide selection of high quality watches. Most importantly, they are in stock and ready for purchase if you have the $$$. ✌🏽
My 3 watch collection is Hamilton Pilot Day Date for my everyday. Orient Ray II for my diver/sporty watch. And an Orient Bambino V2 for my dress watch. Next watch I want is either Hamilton Intramatic Chrono or an Oris Upcycle
I am a 3 watch collection convert (we don’t count a GShock do we?!!). Currently Oris Divers 65 bronze bezel; Seiko CT blue Moon; and CWard c60 Trident 600. Very happy with all 3. But could equally see myself evolving this in coming years to an all Oris 3 watcher. Adding the BC pointer date and Aquis to my 65. Perfection! For me at least.
The Tudor 1926 and the Zenith El Primero are probably the most underrated timepieces. The 1st for having its movement been despised and the 2nd despite his movement. 😏 They definitively need more light on them. Great pieces. 👍
Everyday: Cartier Santos Dress: JLC Reverso Sporty: Tudor Black Bay Panda/Rolex GMT. If I had those 3....Hopefully will buy my first of the list in the next 2 years.
Literally just before you posted this I was talking to my sister who is not into watches in the slightest, to whom I said "Y'know, you'd look really good with a watch on. We ought to make you a cheap 3 watch set."
Great video! You should consider a two watch (everyday & diver/avantgarde) collection video focusing on $1000-$15000 budgets. A significant percentage of people in these budgets (myself included) have zero need for a dedicated dress watch.
@@UA-camuser1aa very true, which I used the word "dedicated". Something like an explorer, or a speemaster can be dressed up to just shy of very formal. There are many people with real money who put on a suit just a few times a year maybe. Why would that person spend a third of their budget on something they wear a dozen times over the next five years?
Perfect 3 watch collection is a Datejust. It's a sports watch, a dress watch & a beater that'll just keep on going whatever you throw at it and always look brand new.
I think it's beyond what most viewers can afford. If I bought a watch that cost $25,000 it better come with AC, power windows/doors, and 24/7 road side assistance. Not to mention, a divorce attorney...if you get my meaning. 😉✌🏽
Hi Teddy, I like this kind of videos. And the three piece collection is quite a challenge. It would be nice to see a series of videos trying to build a three piece collection from one brand only. An everyday, a dress and a sports watch. You could stretch the series from Casio to Patek Philippe. Best regards, Claus P.S.: If I have to pick three watches of my current collection it would be my Rolex OP 39 with the rhodium dial as an everyday watch, my Reverso Small Second medium as a dress watch and my Omega Seamster Diver 300m as the sport watch.
Hi Teddy, how about a 3 piece colletion in 3 price bracket, an affordable beater $150, , a midrange everyday sport-field-diver $850, and an entry level maybe $2,000., which would be your picks?
Interesting choices at the 25k range. The Zenith chrono is nice but an IWC Portugieser comes to mind or even a discounted IWC Yacht Club. If I went chrono at that price I might just pay the $2000/$3000 over retail to get the Breitling Top Time Deus LE (ex machina). But I've decided the green dial Glashutte Original Panomatic Lunar is sorta of a one 1-watch collection so a separate 3-watch 25k collection would have watches closer to the 6k price point. Something like an Aqua Terra, a Skyflake and a Cartier medium Santos. That would leave room for a vintage watch as a filler. I guess I regret not noticing the Deus LE this spring/summer before the 1500 or so sold out. They went fast. Retail price too.
I'm a college student rn. $1000 is probably as high as I can go for now lol. Maybe when I graduate they'll gift me my dream watch (omega moonwatch or grand seiko snowflake/birch). But for now, I'll stick to more affordable watches and aspiring for something like a tudor or oris lol
My current 3 watch collection is an Oris Diver 65, an Alpina Seastrong Heritage, and a Seiko Arnie. They give me variety but I don't have to worry about any of them. If I was limited to $1000, I would go with a used Diver 65 and a GShock. Both the 65 and the Alpina are great everyday watches that you don't have to baby and they are a big step up from the Seiko and Orient divers. I'm not sure that I'll make that jump up to Omega or Tudor but we'll see.
You’ve outdone yourself. Someone help me: as a diver fanatic I love the Sinn U50. But just can’t see the price justification - why is it worth that much?
A watch that tells the date and has water resistance of at least 100 meters is a good starting off point for me when looking into watches, but this isn't a hard rule. 😉✌🏽
I think this is an interesting exercise more for seasoned watch collectors than for beginners. Namely, if you were to pare down your collection, which 3 watches, at what price point would you keep? Because nobody sets out to buy a 3 watch collection with $10,000 or more in pocket, it is more a useful exercise at the lower price points. A couple of more thoughts. If you are looking to spend less than $1,000 on a chronograph, does quartz or meca quartz make more sense than a Chinese made mechanical movement, since practically speaking, you can't service a $300 mechanical chronograph. I like the look of the Seagull 1963, but I don't have a lot of confidence that 4 or 5 years out, I will be able to service the watch and keep it running. And if it is disposable, I am more inclined to just buy quartz, which will very likely still be running and keeping perfect time 5, even 10 years out. It won't be the piece that I will pass onto my grandchildren, but then again, that is also true of any $300 handwind chrono. Finally, does the dress watch/dive watch/sport watch thing make sense? So much of this comes down to livestyle. So that being the case, for some folks, the division should be every day, beater, special occasion? And in that regard, what is one man's every day is another's special occasion watch, or even beater.
The case for a quartz chronograph is compelling for the reasons that you state, but also because there are smaller offerings readily available at reasonable price in quartz vs the 7750 based mechanical designs. There certainly are collectible quartz chrono offerings if you look to vintage MOD watches, or to the product line of CWC. There is no reason that these rugged watches could not be passed down to the next generation.
@@anthony_ugent007 it is a harder exercise than you think. Can you pick out your perfect 3 watch collection from your current collection, or would you have to start over and buy 3 different watches? (hopefully more the former than the latter because otherwise you made a bunch of mistakes.)
I love (for now) my three watch collection: Seamaster 300M (blue), PAM 1312, and Reverso Duoface. One nitpick from the video: Showing the GMT Master II with the retail price seems kinda silly.
I would love some videos focusing on bite sized history of watch companies along with their flagship watches (coming from a newcomer and history lover 🤩🤩🤩)
Diversity is less important for me. I just want watches that I like best. My 3 watch collection consists of 2 divers and a chronograph: 1) Rolex Submariner (black dial) 2) Omega Seamaster Diver 300M (blue dial) 3) Omega Speedmaster Professional Sapphire Sandwich on a leather strap. The Submariner and Seamaster might seem redundant, but honestly, I love both and I'm never getting rid of either. I might add a Rolex DJ41 on a Jubilee bracelet with a fluted bezel. That's as close to a dress watch as I'll ever get. I might get myself a G-Shock too.
I consider myself a collector on a limited budget. I would want to pick the Rolex, the Omega Seamaster aqua terra, and the first chrongraph you mentioned. Since I could only have one, I would pick the Rolex. But that means I need a loan! So maybe its the Aqua Terra, still a loan, but better. And you can keep it forever, unlike the $300 watches.
Would love some brown strap recommendations for the green dial Aqua Terra. The green on that dial is so unique in its colour and how the sun plays with it. Everyday/Casual: Oris Big Crown Pointer Date blue dial Everyday/Dressy: Omega Aqua Terra Green Dial Beater/Diver: Seiko SKX007
As a collector all you really need is a Rolex Submariner, a Hamilton Khaki King, and a G-Shock. And an Omega, and a Sinn, and a Luminox, and a Tissot. At last a Patek, but since you have the Patek you need an AP and a Vacheron. And a. . .

great choice. I think there should always be one/two/three or any watch collection, plus a gshock in any price range
Yup Gshocks dont count toward your total
yes, GOD TIER watch

Another great vid. My current 3 watch rotation consists of: my serious everyday Omega Planet Ocean 37.5, a fun weekend watch, the Bulova Accutron Devil Diver from the 70s and an elegant dress watch, being the 126300 datejust in white.
Great selections, I think you're absolutely right, you can easily cover all the bases with a $1000 or less and be very proud.
I love you put a lot of variation and not the typical choices. No submariner, no explorer, no speedmaster. Classy.
as a new watch enthusiast, i once bought the seiko turtle (srp777) in the military 10 years ago. Recently I aqcuired a seiko cocktail with a stunning green dial time for new years, and just right now i purchased a seiko alpinist with a blue dial as the versatile everyday watch. I am a one brand pony, but I have grown very fond of seiko and maybe someday I will broaden my horizon!
The Chinese Seagull 1963 is awesome. The quality is great provided the price of this watch. Great for the collection.
Everyday - Omega Aqua Terra
Dressy - Reverso in ox blood
Sport - Sinn U1
Approximate total = $2, 000
Longines Conquest and Omega Aqua Terra are the stars of this video. Two beautiful, versatile watches. Really nice.
I'm glad to see the Orient Maestro here again as, after discovering your website and channel yesterday, i found this Orient very attractive and pure in his design, exactly what i love. I should receive mine tomorrow after a compulsive online purchase... i do love that blue/green. :)
Orient seems like a great value.👍🏽
I currently have a three watch collection i rotate between. A Hamilton khaki auto 38mm , a Zelos Mako Ti Meteorite and a Grand Seiko SBGW231.
He just recently did a budget watch video and included a $25 Casio calculator watch if you haven’t seen it already.
If I have to choose 3 from my collection I’d go for:
- Breitling Chronomat GMT 40 Green as the sporty option
- Grand Seiko SBGA413 40 as everyday watch
- Zenith El Primero Rainbow ‘95 as chrono with leather strap for a more dressy environment
Everyday: Sinn 556i
Sports/Dive: Seiko SBP159J
Dress/everyday: Grand Seiko SBGX261
Excellent proposals.
One brand set :):
Casual - Doxa Noble Day - Date (or Doxa Challenge)
Sport - Doxa SUB 300T Caribbean
Dress / Evening - Doxa Blue Planet GMT (or Doxa Vintage Fusion Alarm Limited Edition)
Everyday: Omega Seamaster Railmaster blue dial
Dressy: Fears Brunswick Salmon dial
Fun: Oris Big Crown Fratello edition - bronze with red dial
1. Diver: Omega Seamaster 300m
2. Dress: Breitling Premier B01
3. Everyday: Rolex Explorer
$$$$$ But we can all dream!😉✌🏽
My current 4 watch collection:
Tudor black bay 58 black
Omega speedmaster professional hesalite
Rolex black sub 126610ln
Rolex datejust 41mm chocolate dial
Really enjoying my journey as a watch collector and looking forward to adding a IWC portugieser to my collection next year if finances allow me too.
Dream 3 for me is the 1.)omega sea master aqua terra 41mm. 2.) Rolex no date submariner 3.) grand seiko white birch
Good topic idea: watches to wear to different formal occasions i.e. dinner party, wedding, night out at the symphony/Opera etc. And at different price points.
Seagull stoped production 2020 and the original doesn’t have a see trough back case ! Costs around 530$ . The ones on the video are made in Hong Kong
The new GS's without the power reserve on the face look so much cleaner and totally my style.
@@lmv2.787 yeah they do look very clean. Makes the dial stand out even more
oh I like this concept. i totally agree with your selection of the next tier holy trinity… Teddy should do a holy trinity by tier vid… Casio Timex Swatch, Tissot Hamilton Seiko, etc. only put together by a pro!
@@overdraftracing yeah that would be a really cool video idea
Teddy, please make this happen.
Can we please have an updated vid? With all new releases, new combos and options are available. Pretty curious to know what Teddy would suggest now.
Great video...
My 3 watch collection is
1. Aquaterra 38mm
2. Rolex OP36
3. Oris 65
Great video Teddy! Since I started watch collecting your videos have been of immense help in my watch collecting journey. Regards from Malta 🇲🇹
"watch collectors usually dont know how many watches they actually need"..... my dad has 450ish of them for some reason. Most are old slavic watches but there are some very nice ones in there too
I think Jody has the correct number, "just one more"
So I'll be honest I started watch collecting in the past year. And am just having fun right now. Now replicas of course but I've done some micro brands and homages and like what I have but eventually I will be pairing all that down to a 5 watch collection. Hopefully a 4k budget.
my 3 watch dream collection:
- Rolex OP Black Dial - $5,800
- Jaeger Master Ultra Thin Date Black Leather Strap - $8,100
- Junghan Meister Classic Milanese Strap - $1,550
for me the prefect collection:-)
My $20 Casio is the best watch I ever had.
I think this guy just sells watches and never says anything negative for any watch
So happy that the GMT Master ii BLNR is the piece I saved and went for. It is my one watch collection now and always.
My Sinn U50 has become my go to watch…I got it with bracelet…not one scratch…not even on the clasp…its a tank!
You are a great content creator for watch enthusiasts. Keep up the good work.
IMO 3-4 should be enough. One for dress/formal-suit, in can be a vintage as well. One casual, one sport/dive, one for fun.
Agree...100%.✌🏽
My 3 watch collection is Hamilton Pilot Day Date for my everyday. Orient Ray II for my diver/sporty watch. And an Orient Bambino V2 for my dress watch.
Next watch I want is either Hamilton Intramatic Chrono or an Oris Upcycle
Nice!✌🏽
I am a 3 watch collection convert (we don’t count a GShock do we?!!). Currently Oris Divers 65 bronze bezel; Seiko CT blue Moon; and CWard c60 Trident 600. Very happy with all 3. But could equally see myself evolving this in coming years to an all Oris 3 watcher. Adding the BC pointer date and Aquis to my 65. Perfection! For me at least.
1. VC Fifty Six day date in stainless for weekdays at work. 2. Omega Speedmaster for weekends. 3. Patek 6119R in gold for special events
The Tudor 1926 and the Zenith El Primero are probably the most underrated timepieces.
The 1st for having its movement been despised and the 2nd despite his movement. 😏
They definitively need more light on them. Great pieces. 👍
Great content Teddy! For me, if I could afford it, a Black bay 58 - Omega Aqua Terra - Cartier Santos 100 and Im done
Everyday: Cartier Santos
Dress: JLC Reverso
Sporty: Tudor Black Bay Panda/Rolex GMT.
Uh people who spend $15k on watches probably get dressed up sometimes lol
@@UA-camuser1aa very true, which I used the word "dedicated". Something like an explorer, or a speemaster can be dressed up to just shy of very formal. There are many people with real money who put on a suit just a few times a year maybe. Why would that person spend a third of their budget on something they wear a dozen times over the next five years?
My perfect 3 watch collection……is one more watch.
Perfect 3 watch collection is a Datejust. It's a sports watch, a dress watch & a beater that'll just keep on going whatever you throw at it and always look brand new.
The $25,000 price bracket here incorporated my favorite watches of those described in this video. Still, way beyond what I could afford.
I think it's beyond what most viewers can afford. If I bought a watch that cost $25,000 it better come with AC, power windows/doors, and 24/7 road side assistance. Not to mention, a divorce attorney...if you get my meaning. 😉✌🏽
A Grand Seiko was sorely needed in this video.
Of all presented watches, the one I like the most is the TUDOR 1926… what a good looking piece of machinery!
The ultimate 3 watch collection:
Omega Speedmaster
Rolex Submariner
JLC Reverso
I wish I could afford a Lange. They are just gorgeous.
Don't we all! 😊
As a diver ... Sinn u50, Teddy ... You should know that red colour disappear first under water, you won't be able to see it in ten meter already 😉
Hi Teddy,
I like this kind of videos. And the three piece collection is quite a challenge.
It would be nice to see a series of videos trying to build a three piece collection from one brand only. An everyday, a dress and a sports watch. You could stretch the series from Casio to Patek Philippe.
Best regards,
Claus
P.S.: If I have to pick three watches of my current collection it would be my Rolex OP 39 with the rhodium dial as an everyday watch, my Reverso Small Second medium as a dress watch and my Omega Seamster Diver 300m as the sport watch.
1. Zenith defy
2. Glashütte SEAQ
3. Jaquet Droz Grand seconde / JLC ultra thin moon face in Gold
When he talked about $10k price range I said maybe one day. At 25k and 50k I gave up.
Same here. For 25k-50k that watch better come with AC, power steering, heated seats, and a full size spare! 😉✌🏽
@@marsoelflaco5722 heated strap too, nice for those winter days on high watches that keep your cuff/glove up and wind coming in
@@Valks-22 Brilliant!🤘🏽
My current 3 watch collection is an Oris Diver 65, an Alpina Seastrong Heritage, and a Seiko Arnie. They give me variety but I don't have to worry about any of them. If I was limited to $1000, I would go with a used Diver 65 and a GShock. Both the 65 and the Alpina are great everyday watches that you don't have to baby and they are a big step up from the Seiko and Orient divers. I'm not sure that I'll make that jump up to Omega or Tudor but we'll see.
The Longines Conquest is so great. Much better than a Tissot Gentleman. Really well made.
My three watches are white face steel daytona, black gmt master 2 and white face jubilee rolex turnograph
I enjoyed this. There is something for everyone. 25k in nice but 50k is right on!
Yeah man there's no universal answer, it comes down to everyone's budget and taste to make that "perfect 3 watch collection"
The everyday/casual watches could've included more field/pilot watches with lume.
You can also throw in a date complication. It comes in handy.👍🏽
My watch
Everyday: Seiko SRPE57
Dressy: Seiko SRPD36
Sporty: Orient Mako 2
All Seiko Group automatics, hard to go wrong it seems.
Teddy, could you please do a segment that highlights perhaps four or five of the best Longines brand? Thank you.
My current favorite small wrist trinity : Helson Shark diver titanium 38 / Junghans Meister / Seiko Flight Master
I love (for now) my three watch collection: Seamaster 300M (blue), PAM 1312, and Reverso Duoface.
One nitpick from the video: Showing the GMT Master II with the retail price seems kinda silly.
Very nice collection and agree with your comment on the Rolex.
Agree on the GMT M II... probably more like $15k or so 🤔
That Tudor 1926 is looking nice, and the more I see Sinn on your channel the more I grow to like it!
I would love some videos focusing on bite sized history of watch companies along with their flagship watches (coming from a newcomer and history lover 🤩🤩🤩)
Ive got this: Seiko skx007, Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical in PVD black and a sugess st1901 chrono
Diversity is less important for me. I just want watches that I like best. My 3 watch collection consists of 2 divers and a chronograph:
1) Rolex Submariner (black dial)
2) Omega Seamaster Diver 300M (blue dial)
3) Omega Speedmaster Professional Sapphire Sandwich on a leather strap.
Wow, Oris upcycle is fantastic!
Dream 3:
1. Speedmaster Moonwatch 3861 Sapphire
2. Grand Sieko w/ Spring Drive
3. Rolex Submariner No Date
Surprised to not see any breitling here. Their quality to price ratio is phenomenal.
I’m going to mix & match… The ORIS Aquis, The Omega Aqua Terra & The Zenith El Primero …
Thanks Teddy. You've given me something to think about, especially if one is willing to go the used market.
Also, that Omega in the $25k collection is nice, but why not get a Baltic Aquascaphe in Blue Gilt and save $4,000?
My 3 Watch Collection:
Tudor BB36
Cartier Tank
G Shock DW 5600
My current 3 watch collection
Rolex 16233 from 2002

Planning to add Oris pointer date bronze
Sport- Timex Ironman. Casual: Lorus titanium. Dress: a 1990's Seiko presidential-style. Buy them all used for a total of $100 for all three.
Would love some brown strap recommendations for the green dial Aqua Terra. The green on that dial is so unique in its colour and how the sun plays with it.
Everyday/Casual: Oris Big Crown Pointer Date blue dial
Everyday/Dressy: Omega Aqua Terra Green Dial
