Thanks Teddy for casting the net wide and not always focusing on the same watch brands . Hanhart , Sinn and Nomos , great choices and definitely underrated. All the best , Chris Gilling .
My pleasure, Chris! My personal taste intersects with a lot of the brands mentioned in this video. Some of them were greatly responsible for getting me into all of this in the first place. Thanks for the support.
This is the most comprehensive list of German watch brands I have ever seen. Including all the basic infos, history, background and a perfect choice of timepieces for every brand. Sehr gut, Dankeschön!
Recently managed to get myself a Hanhart Pioneer, the gray dial. Astounded by the quality of craftmaship, the details, the design. I fell in love with the fluted or coin bezel, just can't have enough of it. The strap is top tier, calf leather. I have other watches from Swiss brands but even the "luxury" ones have a hard time keeping up to German standards. And the price is just unbeatable.
Recognized some of your shots were taken at the 'Deutsche Uhrenmuseum Glashütte', the watch museum in Glashütte near Dresden. Have been there this summer. Very impressive and informative. Greetings from Germany!!
Great compilation! Shoutout also to the Ickler family (Archimede, Limes, Defakto) and Dekla / Buser Freres, who make amazingly engineered watches in this price range!
Great presentation. I love Nomos, Sinn, Stowa, and moreover the very affordable Junghans Max Bill. There's something different in term of design and spirit in German watches.
Yes Teddy, since I followed you, I´ve learned quite a lot about the fascinating world of watches, your approach is not just very professional but also humble and truthful and that means real passion, not empty boasting of luxury items. My personal dream watches are those like Sinn U50, Mühle Glasshütte S.A.R, Hanhart 417 ES 1954, Marathon GSAR or CWC RN81 also seduce me the Hamilton Khaki Murph. Maybe I can not afford most of them but love getting some expertise with you content. Keep it up Teddy.
I have a Laco Aachen 42mm automatic watch, from Germany. Absolutely love it. I especially like the dial. Minutes with bigger number than hours. In my country (Hungary) in the past (and maybe now as well)lots of people thinking that the germany things(cars, electric tools, kitchen equipment etc) is same with high quality. (This was one small reason why i started watching Germany watch brands and choose Laco....) Thank you for video.
I love my Nomos Club Campus and Jughans Max Bill. Thanks for this video for showcasing so many German brands, several of which I wasn't aware of, that are appealing to me.
Awesome video! There is definitely something specific and amazing to the German watches. Top notch quality is the minimum. I love my Stowa Marine Bronze and am amazed by its built every time I wear it
This has to be one of the most diverse list of German watch brands and video. Thanks for not focusing on high end brands from Germany and truly giving the spotlight and respect to these brands! 🫡
Great video! German watch brands deserve this. I met a lot of them at the WatchTime this year, awesome talks! And I want to add Heinrich, Archimede and Vandaag as well.
Thanks Teddy for having us. As a german myself, of course i need a german made watch. But its hard to choose. You gave us a really good oversight. Aaaaand thank you for torturing your tongue with all the ü's. Its pretty accurate 😊
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the AMZWATCH, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
I have a Max Bill mega solar on the way and couldn't be more excited. And I didn't even know they were pioneers of radio controlled watches, that's wild!
Teddy please could you do a history of British watchmaking. I would be very interested to see you tackle that topic in some depth. The rise, fall and where we are now.
When talking about Sinn, you have to mention the Sinn Finanzplatz-Watches (made for Wallstreet). They are pretty amazing Sport-Dresswatches with multiple time-zones.
One of my first watch purchases was the Sinn 104. I was so unimpressed by it I returned it. Many years and many watches later I’ve just bought a EZM3F and it’s awesome. Definitely a keeper. Funny how tastes change
The fact that he leads the video with brands which he is not the AD for just shows his dedication to education and producing great infotainment for the watch community. Great stuff, and when the time comes for me to buy my grail SAR it will be from Teddy.
Any plans to become an AD of Hanhart? I got my first ever mechanical watch from your site (Tissot 1938 Salmon Dial) and Hanhart is a contender for my next watch in a couple years or so. Would love to continue supporting your business!
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
My very first 'proper' watch was a Damasko DA47 black, I've then went on to add a Stowa Flieger no date hand winding and also one brand you maybe forgot to mention is Dornbluth which I added the 99.1 model (which was custom made to order but was still relatively attainable in terms of monetary value) . There's no doubt , with German watches you can get a lot more value as well as keeping the quality of a good Swiss brand.
Wow wha ta great video, i really like this video it comes across more original than many others and it wasa great overview of some really great German affordable watches!
Teddy, this is a fantastic video. Thank you. Most cheap German brands use Swiss movements or pseudo in house ones largely based on the omnipresent Swiss calibers. I respect Nomos, Glashutte Original and Lange for their in house movements. Hanhart, Sinn, Damasko, Circula, Junghans, Laco, Stowa etc. use ETA and Sellita.
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Great content teddy, German watches are fantastic, I’d love to hear a lot more about the origins of the hanhart red pusher, especially how steve McQueen came to own one. don’t you think it’s ironic how he was in the greatest escape yet he had a German wristwatch. ( there is a story here)
I had never considered German-made watches; however I saw a Damasko chronograph online that I had to have. Subsequently, it proved to me that German watchmaking is underrated! I recently purchased a Junghans Pilot Automatic through the boutique and it gives further evidence that my previous statement holds up!
I bought a watch from AMZWATCH lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Thanks for producing such a comprehensive video on German watches. I have been interested in adding German watches to my collection. Speaking of Sinn, when will you offer this brand on your site?
Lately I've been interested in Glashütte made watches. Union Glashütte watches have become a recent favourite, I've added their 1893 Johannes Dürrstein Edition to my list!
About a year into my watch journey and 4 of my long-term prospects are a Sinn 556, a Junghans Max Bill, a Mühle SAR, and Nla Nomos Club Sport. Guess I'm finding myself leaning German!
Fun one and of course there are others . I enjoy Guinand quite a lot myself . Hoping one day for a 361 and a G44 Deepwave Azure . I've their Flight Engineer and I'm glad I made the purchase .
So many of these brands are underrated. Maybe the German styling isn’t as widely popular. I think they are incredibly sophisticated. I’ve been turned on to Nomos and just love Junghans and saw their pieces in person at the Wind Up Watch Fair in NYC. Damasks looks VERY interesting. The value of all these brand is simply stunning. Especially Nomos making their own movements AND hand-making them. For under $4000. Amazing. Would love to get one. Or more. In the future 😉
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that the "made in germany" procedure is not regulated like the swiss one. Therefore there could be deceptions... BTW , speaking of pilot watches (Stowa, Laco)... what about Dekla?
Thank you for giving German watches the exposure they richly deserve.
Nobody else is covering them, so this is wonderful.
Nobody cares

Teddy at his best: talking fast, ranging wide, showing me brands I have NEVER heard of before. Danke!
Nice to see Stowa getting mentioned 😎
Recognized some of your shots were taken at the 'Deutsche Uhrenmuseum Glashütte', the watch museum in Glashütte near Dresden. Have been there this summer. Very impressive and informative. Greetings from Germany!!
I love the German watch look. They have such a simple elegant high quality look.
Great compilation! Shoutout also to the Ickler family (Archimede, Limes, Defakto) and Dekla / Buser Freres, who make amazingly engineered watches in this price range!
My dekla turbolenz is among the best watches i ever seen. Of course considering price - under 1000$
Teddy has been dropping videos left and right and I’m here for it! Keep up the good work buddy.
Love flying through Frankfurt on business trips just to try on German watches. Great brands Teddy - thanks for highlighting
Great presentation. I love Nomos, Sinn, Stowa, and moreover the very affordable Junghans Max Bill.
There's something different in term of design and spirit in German watches.
This video comes so perfectly, I am looking for a watch and was looking up German brands.

Great to see Laco's >$1k watches getting some love, I think they're criminally underrated.
Thanks for featuring our brand. Greetings from #sinncity Frankfurt!
I have a Laco Aachen 42mm automatic watch, from Germany.
Absolutely love it.

not anymore most of them have sold out to capitalism
Nice watch!
Greetings from Aachen
Being in the aerospace manufacturing industry, I am very interested in Damasko and am glad you mentioned them.
I love my Nomos Club Campus and Jughans Max Bill. Thanks for this video for showcasing so many German brands, several of which I wasn't aware of, that are appealing to me.
I love German watches, Guinand is one of my personal favorites.
I agree, Guinand is overlooked, and has an awesome catalogue with Helmut Sinn heritage too.
I own a couple Laco watches and I absolutely love this brand. Glad to see this brand get some more love.
Thanks for shining the light on German watches. I have long been a fan of these watches.
This list is missing Archimede. Extremely underrated and incredible cases.
Awesome video! There is definitely something specific and amazing to the German watches. Top notch quality is the minimum. I love my Stowa Marine Bronze and am amazed by its built every time I wear it
Great video ! J’aime le style et la lunette de la Hanart Pioneer One Blau, belles découvertes chez Sinn et dans les autres marques également. Merci !
I have my SAR Rescue Timer on right now. I love German watches... Hanhart is next.
This has to be one of the most diverse list of German watch brands and video. Thanks for not focusing on high end brands from Germany and truly giving the spotlight and respect to these brands! 🫡
Tutima Saxon One M Auto, Nomos Glashutte Tetra Neomatik 39, Meistersinger Lunascope, all good options.
Thank you for this video! Own two Sinn's and a Stowa. In particular the Sinn's have exceptional quality cases.
Great video! German watch brands deserve this. I met a lot of them at the WatchTime this year, awesome talks! And I want to add Heinrich, Archimede and Vandaag as well.

Teddy, you and your team continue to rock!
Sinn 104 white dial, I love it to bits!🥰
Great video. I've been watch collecting many years. Was not aware of some of the German brands discussed. Well done.

Hanhart fanboi here...thanks for doing this video.
Great video Teddy. Love the history you include in your content. Fan and owner of Sinn and Hanhart!

Great video, a welcome change from the obvious content. So many interesting designs and great value for money in this sector.
Love seeing Tutima - was gifted an FX Chrono by a client about 20 years ago - still gets plenty of wrist time
Great video! I’m stoked to discover brands that need the love they deserve with such a rich history
WoW so many companies I was not aware of. Thanks!
Good gosh!
Great video!
I like them all.
We are taught “Swiss” or “Rolex” is best.
Thanks for bringing German technology to light!
I just purchased my first Laco scorpion 39mm and I’m quite impressed with the quality for under $1,300.

I've heard of Tutima and seem aome of their pieces, I'm glad you covered them because I was always wondering what others opinion of them were
I thought I knew them all. Thanks for the intro to some new German brands.
Teddy, this is a fantastic video. Thank you. Most cheap German brands use Swiss movements or pseudo in house ones largely based on the omnipresent Swiss calibers. I have a Damasko DC96 Chronograph with an in-house movement that is awesome.
@ It is based on a Valjoux 7750. Has been extensively modified and adjusted.
It's in-house enough for me as it maintains ÷/- 4 sec accuracuy for weeks when continuously worn.
Great review!!
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Nice upload. Learned a lot. I'm looking for a German watch now. I read looking at Guinand.
Great topic, Teddy.
Another German microbrand that comes to mind is Dekla.
I have a soft spot for German watches. Great report!
I hadn’t heard of Hanhart until finding your channel a couple of years ago, but now I have the 417 on my dream list.
Cool showcase! You could have mentioned ARISTO as well, they have some great entry level prices.
Lacos amoung aristo great watch German brands 😮
Very nice ! Well rounded.

Very well! So much information.
As a watch collector and reseller in Germany, i did not expect to learn about a brand i didnt know. But this was first time i heard of Tutima
I really love Hanhart, but it's pretty difficult to buy one at the "MSRP" price in the US and Canada because they don't ship here...
I had never considered German-made watches; however I saw a Damasko chronograph online that I had to have. Subsequently, it proved to me that German watchmaking is underrated! You got me on a nomos, my tangente 38 is my dressy / biz casual staple, and I also got a sinn in europe recently and love it.
I bought a watch from AMZWATCH lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Not mentioned and not best known for their watches, but I'm wearing a minimalistic, bauhaus inspired Braun AW50 as I'm watching this.
Thank you Teddy! Spot-on!
Thanks for producing such a comprehensive video on German watches. I have been interested in adding German watches to my collection. Speaking of Sinn, when will you offer this brand on your site?
Ugh! Choices! Tearing up my list!
I genuinely want at least 10 of these brands, starting with a Hanhart 417, a Sinn U50, and a Junghans Form C.
Great video! Regards from 🇩🇪 and a happy Sinn 142 owner.
I think Zeppelin is good brand with affordable yet great quartz pieces especially with the vintage styling. Worthy to be included here IMO
Lately I've been interested in Glashütte made watches. Union Glashütte watches have become a recent favourite, I've added their 1893 Johannes Dürrstein Edition to my list!

A lot of value in these choices.
Been getting into German watches lately-Junghans especially! Just got my first Worldtimer and already hunting for a Chronoscope next.
Really fancy a Laco or Stowa flieger 👍
that was incredible. what a beautiful watch and what great work you did on it!AMZWATCH
Did you mention Steinhart?
I’ve never heard of Tutima but wow it’s on my wishlist now! Interesting!
It's a great brand. Owned several back in the day.
Although the video has paid promotion I don't mind it coming from Teddy. His videos are very well made, to the point and informative. 👍
I have a Tutima flieger 637, frankly I love it
Love muhle glashutte.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that the "made in germany" procedure is not regulated like the swiss one. Therefore there could be deceptions... BTW , speaking of pilot watches (Stowa, Laco)... what about Dekla?
That Union Averin Moonphase is incredible. Anywhere to buy them in the US?
