I went through the animation frame by frame & went into spectator mode in-game to see where this mission takes place. After no-clipping through ever pixel, I realized that the map location art on Sojourn's computer screen & the in-game mission trailer that the Toronto story mission map is a completely new map from the Push map, which is pretty cool. Even the train station in the story mission trailer is a completely different one from the one that you spawn in, on New Queen's Street.
Every map iteration in game is different. Rialto during the Retribution mission is not simply just "the" Rialto map with different light. It's an entire different map """""file""""" inside the game. Even more, all the menu screens back then (before we had bunch of splash-arts) were reduced/cropped "maps" on their own. This will probably be the same, it will most likely use Toronto and add extra areas, like Retribution Rialto did. The map you can explore on custom games is simply a different. So yeah, it will be a new map, but I'm sure at least part of it will go through parts we've seen already as well. At least the subway and slums part will be all new given the screenshots we've had for years now.
@@NintendoMusicChannel I was in the process of refuting your hypothesis of the map on the Toronto Story mission, but while looking through the Invasion story trailer video, I found a single piece of evidence that the push map is most likely used as a part of the PvE map. In one of the scenes at the start of the video, where the omnic misses his chance to get on the underground train, the wall behind him says "Queen Street".
My favorite is still the Junker Queen short, but it's already the 3rd time I'm watching this one. It's so well done, so much details to catch. Amazing short.

The picture of how Murphy was in a wheelchair, but she did get some of her own cybernetics to allow her to walk. Actually kind of missed that at first until I saw the picture and then saw Murphy’s legs. That and Murphy deserves all the treats and to be spoiled (which Sojourn probably does when no one else is looking).
Mercy actually asks how Murphy is doing in an in-game interaction: And Sojourn responds with “Doing much better, now that you aren't feeding her scraps all the time.” So I imagine Mercy was primarily the one spoiling her in the past (or was at least among the others who did). 😂 I’m sure Sojourn still does to a healthy degree, though. I mean, how could you not, Murphy’s adorable. 😄

The “tell me about it…” when Tremblay replies to Sojourn when he visits after rewatching the short makes so much sense haha, cause he knew where she was last night…

Back during highschool, I used to love waiting for each cinimatic to come out and now this one after a year was well worth the wait. Amamzing job as always. Can't wait to see a lot more!
god please........................PLEASE keep releasing lore-related cinematics/events/etc it's what everyone wants
In my wildest dreams theres a whole series and movies based solely on overwatch the potential is just so great
Ok but why does she need glasses? Her eyes are cybernetic.
Appearance
Ask superman
have u never seen people with glasses just for looks?
Cuz she likes the looks dumbo
she probably needs them when her cybernetics aren't active. we see her take them off @ 6:02 when she activates her eyes & get serious
What a shame. The animation and design team are continually knocking it out the park with these trailers , if only overwatch had a publisher that cared about the actual game to back these excellent cinematics up .
Whining gets you nothing btw
@@luckychicken1563No one is whining, just stating facts, ‘btw’.
You have a good point
@@luckychicken1563 he's not whining, he's lamenting. And there's very little we can actually do about it other than not paying for content.
Hopefully everything changes for the good when Microsoft finishes the deal. Still have some doubts on the direction of live service games but I hope it goes well soon.
This cinematic made Soujorn look so much cooler, I like her now a lot more :)
Crazy that theres a pair of robot hands specifically used for making coffee out there
I hope that is a new autumn skin for her. That sweater looks so comfy
The worst part of this cinematic is that the little foamdog got destroyed by the lid
Blizzard's animations are top tier, sadly cant say the same about their integrity with listening to community
You should try finish watching a video for once before commenting.
@@leatherhidegamingno
@@leatherhidegaming you know this cinematic was already watchable ingame from the hero gallery 2 days ago right? most ppl have already seen it, myself included
@@BobOrKlaus I've seen it as well in the game. That's not the point. I see this account pop up everywhere commenting just after a video is uploaded. This time it was within two minutes after the video was uploaded.
@@leatherhidegamingit’s true tho?
Her line about losing sight of their mission is eerily on point about overwatch
Ow2 you mean
@@vinhtrieu8060 ITS ALL THE SAME THING
This is exactly why they need to do more animated shorts.
Real ones like this not the 2D ones, one for each character. Then some more with multiple characters. Then do something like Arcane and maybe a movie eventually
Incredible animation. Overwatch team never missed
Hurts to see how much potential this game has
Had.
It had potential.
@@KumiChan2004As much as it looks like it's over and the dream is dead, let people hold on, it's not hurting really anyone. In the back of my mind I'm still waiting for Blizzard to make a slow but gradual comeback.
@@KumiChan2004 HAS.
@@readyplayerthree3 I hate blizzard with a passion now. They have done too many wrongs. Especially when it comes to greed
@@andrewryan2928 Completely understandable, just some people have different levels of tolerance before calling BS and giving up on things. I know Blizzard almost definitely isn't getting better but I can hope even if it means nothing.
All of this animation so far is so freakin great, and i realized one thing and im all up for it. Theyre hyping up null sector so much and ramattra's reveal in a future animation. Cant wait to see how spine chilling his debut will be.
The music team doing outstanding work, as usual.
Surprised they haven't given her a Murphy emote yet.
noticed on second watch at 6:35 she already noticed all of the guards posted outside were there and immediately started speaking to them
Respect to the all artists behind this awesome cinematic
man the quality of the animation is like a movie i love them
I went through the animation frame by frame & went into spectator mode in-game to see where this mission takes place.
In one of the scenes at the start of the video, where the omnic misses his chance to get on the underground train, the wall behind him says "Queen Street".
bro at this point overwatch need to release their own cinematic movie/film 😭😭
My favorite is still the Junker Queen short, but it's already the 3rd time I'm watching this one. It's so well done, so much details to catch. Amazing short.
The insane amount of detail and quality of these is amazing. I hope we get more shorts!
Sojourn: "The Overwatch I joined was about raising the world up, making it a better place. But by the end, we lost sight of our mission."
That sounds about right. Wonderful cinematic as always.

She said the thing guys
Animation team cracked it again....
Blizzard you thought about having the Animation run the character balancing team?
Riot Games 🤝 Activision Blizzard
**Being held up by their animation team**
4:56 this speech sounds like the overwatch team talking to us... so sad the way the game has gone because of corporate greed😢
I swear if we dont get an animated series from these guys.... it would topple charts
Yeah I mean this whole concept has proven to be better than as a video game
This is one of the best animated shorts ever. Sojourn is so cool.
*Sojourn-* A ton of cybernetic implants and prosthetics, a dopeass railgun assault rifle, and a command center in her living room.
*Trombley-* G L O C K .
Sojourn pick rate went up 500% after this epic short.
She rocks! More!
I hope we get to see more animation like this in the future
Okay PVE joke comments, Lets pause on this video, The animation here is beautiful and we should give the art team some major props for this ❤
The animations are getting better each team! Props to the VA’s, the animators, the music team and the writers
Now imagine if this trailer launched the complete PvE experience we were promised, that would have been phenomenal..
wish theyd add her cosy outfit as a skin
As if you needed any more reasons to love Murphy, I do like the visual storytelling of how Murphy is kind of like her owner.
Mercy actually asks how Murphy is doing in an in-game interaction:
And Sojourn responds with “Doing much better, now that you aren't feeding her scraps all the time.”
So I imagine Mercy was primarily the one spoiling her in the past (or was at least among the others who did). 😂
I’m sure Sojourn still does to a healthy degree, though. I mean, how could you not, Murphy’s adorable. 😄
oooooh right! I didn't even realize that! I've looked at the picture million times but dots didn't connect until this comment :D
Gotta love how most heroes are way more lovable in the lore than in the game.
The cinematics have always been absolute peak content! Outstanding work!
That transition was INCREDIBLE! One moment chilling the next boom! Entire HQ.
No it wasn't. It was pure cringe.
@tomspiegel5322 Glad you responded but nobody asked 😝
The animation never disappoints
