@@theblackcountrybandit1430 I had phasing issues in this video (and the next part about recording a full band (link in description)) but I've been told to check some stuff to try and fix that so I should do that before I comment further. A comparison will be coming out soon.
Hi, I'm sorry, I ran into a problem, can you help me, I have a Zen go card, I don't know how I can use its plugins in the FL Studio or Studio One software mixer, that is, I don't know how or what way I can bring the plugins into the software mixer؟؟
Thanks for the demonstration, but... as soon as the De-esser was applied, there was a noticeable difference in the quality of the voice, making it sound not very good... Then the LA2A just made me laugh 🤣... Anyone who's using Antelope Synergy Core plugins for recordings can relate this? Are the emulations not that good? Thank you again.
I'm using essentially the same signal chain although all BAE (1073 > De-Esser > 10DCF > 1084) and I haven't experienced that weird phase issue but I have had some random freakouts of one plugin (weirdly never the full chain). Just last week my signal was suddenly extremely thin and brittle sounding. I've had the same plugin chain for months so this was weird. I tried all sorts of hardware changes (microphone, cabling, even resetting the interface). What finally fixed it was removing the De-esser from the chain and then simply adding back in. So strange. I'm using the D4SC, FYI.
I'm wondering if he had the dry and the processed signal coming through at the same time. That could explain it. Also for him there could be phasing from his voice in his head.
Just purchased ZEN GO would have been nice if you had just used the effects that came with the zen go august/september Deal, 2021 bundle no plans to purchase any others at present. Great Video keep up the good work

@@EdThorne Fair enough.Based on your response, I'm going with the UAD Apollo Solo over the Zen Go since there isn't a single comparison video out there. Thanks!
The ZenGo yes, in terms of super clean preamps and great monitoring. The plugins I could leave… again good for monitoring but I wouldn’t mix with them.
@@EdThorne Hey, thank you for your answer. It seems to be the perfect interface for me, I am a producer and I only do vocal recording onto my beats, mixing is not my task ! Again thanks 👌🏻
Thanks. Yes it is. You can duplicate input channels, monitor the wet channel and record the dry channel. You can record both too for comparison. It’s a really great feature I wish UA had
Unless you have some special hardware, never understood the reason for recording plugins in the way in, just add the plugin later and have the chance to tweak and change it.
Well, the main feature of the Antelope Audio Interface is the FPGA. So, it is special hardware. Unlike strait DSP emulation, an FPGA can actually simulate the actual hardware you are replicating down to the component level. This has the ability to create cycle accurate simulations of the hardware. When you pull up a 1073 it should theoretically be just like a real 1073. Of course FPGA programming will make a difference and every actual hardware unit will have a slightly different sound due to component degradation over time. The Emulation in the Native plugins can’t replicate it like an FPGA can. Also, why not just record two tracks at same time. You can record a dry signal and one with the effects directly into your DAW. Then you can choose to use the processed or unprocessed afterwards.
awesome video brother. thank you for this. Ive always had my eye on the Antelope stuff. although, quite happy with what i got in this range, the Apollo Twin X. plugins any good? antelope i mean, ofc
by the way....whn you engaged the LA2A, there was this phasing'ish issue happening....or just boxiness or whatever...listening to it through a SONY home theater, so not sure hahah
Hey man, thanks. Yeh, there was a strange phasing thing happening with a few plugins. I discussed it later in the video. I suspect it’s to do with the DSP performing parallel processing to keep the processing sub 1ms latency… the problem with that is clearly evident. I will enquire with Antelope about it because it renders half the processing useless. I will cover this in my Antelope/UAD comparison video coming soon my friend🙂🤘
Everyone needs to put a solid PAUSE on buying anything Antelope right now. Marcel James (former 14 year engineer from Antelope Audio) is laying down the ugly hammer on all of the hidden software and hardware problems Antelope has been having over the years AND all of the negative social media comments they have been deleting. Marcel has one video out on UA-cam already. I have the Discrete 8 Synergy Core and for the last two years had multiple software issues and the LED panel text is now pixelated with dark orange and white text.
@@coedmusic And I used my Discreet 8 Synergy Core for over two years and had driver issues even after different clean Windows installs. Antelope drivers suck compared to MOTU and Focusrite. What good is the hardware if the drivers fail or only work half of the time? I'm certainly not the only person that has turned my back on Antelope's janky hardware and crappy drivers! Oh, and my Antelope LED display started going out to where the text is hardly readable anymore, so yeah happy to sell you my failing piece of crap Antelope!
