you are the only one I have seen who actually reviews the base model, this is exactly the review I was looking for. Thank you very much and please continue doing it. I would just like to add here, please also compare the base trim with just a one trim above the base as well, so that we can know how much we can get by paying a little bit more. Again, really appreciate your review.
I like your style man because I don't feel like you are trying to sell me fluff bs and will just say if something sucks or is uncomfortable or cramped. Keep it up!
Honda did a great job with the Pilot exterior.. It looks great.. Love the tall more upright stance, which results in better visibility, more room (and more headroom), and is more comfortable. I like this LX version with the traditional shifter (don't like the rotary knob or push button shifter). But not sure what Honda was thinking with bad and unattractive dashboard layout. If they just would have made it with a MUCH more traditional dashboard layout - with a traditional needle speedo and tacho.. and lots of large knobs and traditional controls - this could have been a fantastic SUV.
I feel the Ex-L is a better buy. That being said, this suv is as spacious as our old Yukon only with better gas mileage and acceleration. Very reliable.
I was able to purchase the 2019 EX-L AWD for $31,500 sticker... just get pre-approved and say "NO" to whatever they're selling, and don't be afraid to walk out.
In Canadá the Pilot LX 2020 gets apple car play and android auto with the same screen that is in the touring, it have keyless entry and remote start, body color door handles, front dual zone climate controls, and rear climate controls
I’d really like to know if people will ever prefer more basic trims, I bought a 2019 civic sport with a 6 speed manual. I most bought it for the transmission but have noticed that I really don’t miss a lot of the fancy features of my wife’s car or higher trim cars. The only thing I’d really change on my car is led headlights and a better radio. But I’m fine with it the way it is.
i don't understand why the info system installed is too old i had 2017 LX with the apple carplay and also my vent at the second row has controls. Canada version
Thanks a lot. Objective and straight forward review. If I look to buy a new SUV, this LX model will be more than sufficient for me. It is spacious especially in the 2nd and 3rd rows. 6-speed auto transmission may be more reliable than the 9-speed one. Thanks again.

The 6 speed automatic in my wife's 2016 pilot never gave her problems. I believe the 9 speeds are troublesome. 6 speed with a shifter, not push buttons are great.
Do you recall opening the back tail gate if you could do so with the car on? Looking at a 2020 LX without the powered tail gate and there is no trunk release buttons inside on dash or door and the only way to open the tail gate is if the car is off and then you have to use the key fob to unlock the tailgate so it can be opened. Im thinking this has to be a malfunction as it would be completely foolish to have no other way to open the tail gate unless the vehicle was off and you had to have the fob in hand. Thanks
Everything about the vehicle is great. Except for a couple of things that irk me about Honda. They continue to cheap out on putting Apple Carplay/Android Auto in their base models. Also not even 1 USB port for the rear passengers. It's 2020, that stuff should be standard considering this car comes in at an MSRP of $32k and their competitors have at least one of those things mentioned standard.
2019 and 2020 Honda Pilot’s and Honda Odyssey have audio issues. My 2019 elite model continues to lose sound during regular commutes. The dealership has failed to fix the issue. Waiting on Honda to reply/fix.
So today i went out to test drive and inspect a 2020 PILOT. I can not believe that it has rust on the control arms and the cheap rotors they used has rust starting to cake. No under body protection spray for a car worth $41K after msrp and taxes. Im really disappointed.

I dont know why the pilot is so understimated in the mid size SUV rankings. I think is one of the best in classs ...specially for de motor

Very informative review. Thanks for showing the base model
Really appreciate your honesty and fairness.
Lack of USB ports and Apple car play and XM and Android Auto on this base version makes this a no go.
A surprising amount of car for $33,000. I can see why it's popular with families.
Excellent review.

You can go on cocaine runs to Mexico & back with the hidden storage bin in the back 👍😂

Is the it the same transmission that 2015-2019 have problem with? No thanks.
Yes, 9-speed ZF with plenty of quirks.

Don’t forget the electrical issues that plagues them. It’s real hard to fix.Multiple trips to the dealer. Not good !!!
I think the Kia Telluride and the Palisade base models are a better value and the interior doesn't look like a base model like this pilot.

The Toyota Highlander is probably the only other SUV I'd consider in that class.
They're both nice Vans. Highlander 3rd row is not useable
All matters if... timing chain or belt / CVT transmission? anyone of those.. Hard pass.
Nice car
It look like Mini van, I wouldn't buy it over the competitors
That screen is definitely a huge turn off
But no have in my country
i used to live in darien
Nice!
Darien NY? That's near me
Honda is suck in the 90s with the black contrasting door handles and mirrors

It's the dealers fault
Highlander way better looking
You're supposed to be inside not spewing over the interior of a new car.
Better is Toyota Highlander L
