Yes all cars reviewers should do with the base on any cars because now a day all cars and trucks are very expensive , I wanted this one base still can’t afford it 😂
The problem with base model pricing is that dealers carry very few or none of these now a days. They have dealer add-ons. And they tend to have higher trim levels which generates more profit for the company and the dealer. The below 20K entry level segment has almost completely disappeared.
The add one aren’t too bad if you ask for the next one coming to the lot and specify which add one you want. Like I’d want the seat covers for the third and second row and the tow hitch, and the $1800 bronze wheels.
I just checked in Honda dealer at north of Houston and a Pilot 2023 LX is $39,395.00 plus taxes and extended warranty. This is the problem with dealers prices.
We just purchased the LX trim level at big star on 45 south $39k with TTL we drove off with 43 you can negotiate pricing overall happy with the deal we got
Just bought one (black with all weather mats) Wanted the sport but only 2 in 100 mile radius. I'm giving up on some amenities, but all in all it's fantastic.
The lack of blind spot monitoring even as an option is disappointing to me as that feature my other car has saved me from a poor lane change many times. Awesome review once again, particularly appreciate how you tell us about the comparisons with the other Pilot models.
@@eddieh3580 Right. No option for blind spot monitoring on the LX. Adjust your mirrors properly to remove any blind spots and take a glance to the side before actually changing lanes. You should not be 100% relying on blind spot monitoring anyway. They are not fully reliable in every circumstance. There is a component shortage causing Honda to not get BSM on all models and just save what they can get for high trims. If you wait for 2024 models, BSM availability may be expanded. If not, 2025.
Like the overall exterior shape very much. Nice wheels for a base car. The car is nicely equipped for the price. Would make a nice car for a young family with several young children. Thanks for another great review.
I'm a big fan of cloth seats because they will look good for the life of just about any vehicle. What bothers me more is no power adjustment on the drivers seat. Yikes
@@plmn93 . I agree as I was cross shopping the Pilot with the Ascent along with other mid-size SUVs. I went with the Ascent Onyx trim because you can't beat what you get for the money. I think the best value is actually the premium trim level. I also agree the drive is smoother and more comfortable in the Ascent.
excellent review - a VERY nice vehicle even in base trim. V6 , real gears , smooth , fast and well made - roomy modern interior 9:01 and very capable and advanced AWD system. A lot of value .
Thanks for reviewing a base, it does seem to lack a lot of style and tech of the base Telluride, but it is still a high quality, affordable, safe, comfortable 7 passenger with attractive design and great resale value and one of the last with a smooth quiet V6, probably a bit better than the Telluride's V6.
If you need a three row SUV do things like hauling people and cargo, yes, the Pilot is better. Much better. If you don't need that, why are you looking at a three row SUV? I feel the CX-90 is targeted towards grandparents who may need to haul the grandkids to the local Dairy Queen a couple times a year.
@@plmn93 The CX-90 is not significantly smaller than the Pilot. I like them both but prefer the Mazda's refinement and more advanced powertrain and way better mpg.
@@lav1daloca The interior of the CX-90 is quite a bit smaller, especially the third row. The exterior is the same size due to the long snout. Its space efficiency is probably the worst in class, definitely a case of form over function IMO.
Thanks for reviewing base model which can be affordable yet practical. Most reviewers start with the most highest trim. I don’t miss those bell and whistle on upper level.
Disappointed with Honda even CR-V for $ 35000 don’t have AWD and blind spots monitor. In 2023 blind spot monitor should be in all base models for safety like Mazda have.😊
like it. I would buy it or recommend it no turbo ,I alway look the under floor for room to store goodies Mac book etc . will it fit a drone good review.
This is why i don’t do base model vehicles. I am curious though to why they would eliminate fog lamps on the base trim. Its not gonna effect the price to much to add them.
Very nice that Honda went a more traditional route with most things for this new Pilot.. Like a traditional V6 and nice upright boxy design.. Very good Honda.. But then, for some stupid reason, they did NOT go with a good old traditional shifter.. Honda went with that stupid push button shifter.. I just like shifting with a traditional shifter.. They should at least put a traditional shifter in the Base version.. But no, they blew it..
If size is not a factor and I’m budget buying I would probably settle for a discounted 2023 cx-9 since Mazda trying to sell the new cx-90 so top of line fully equipped cx-9 would be better equipped than the lx pilot!Lx telluride also better
Id like to point out, the elite is not the only model that comes with a full digital gauge cluster. The black edition also comes with it. I know, because i work at the plant that builds the pilot
Not if you’re a medium to large size family and you’re looking for the conveniences, comfort and graces of a lot of room on the interior then the grand Highlander will look a lot more attractive
The grand highlander will cost significantly more. Plus the size difference isn’t enormous. The jump for the normal Highlander to the pilot is much larger
So if I was picking out what probably picked the elite term level do to the fact that the LX do not have leather at seas it has cloth. And I cannot sit on cloth basically so if I was choosing. I would probably eat a pickup mid grade trim level or either detroit or the top end elite so doesn't my choices But yeah I would probably pick the top end elite or the touring or the turtle sport
