Awesome game! I can't really tell which Active Essence Stones I like the most, but it's all coming together very well. The exploration of the world is fun, and has a lot to do. So good to just dive in on a new game, and one with good quality on top of it. That one cliff peak above Castrum 7, that's an awesome world y'all have designed. Very intriguing. Thanks for this, well worth the Limited Edition.
I whole year later and cleated my backlog to get to this game and i despite all that i heard , I went in with an open mind and it rekindles that early 2010s fun that you had in a game and it is fun so far.
I like the game despite the negativity out there. I hope you keep working on it. I am sure you will find your fanbase and these persons deserve a proper support. Accept the crtics and enjoy the positive community feedback you also got :-)
@@Tonedriver I played 10 hours until now and I am really enjoying it too. But still I would love to see some patches which improve animations, graphics, performance, sound and gameplay.
It would be really good if you can like make a high five animation when you're in coop with a friend while you're sliding in the sand! I'm really enjoying the game and I think it would be really a wonderful detail.
Beat the game, so just going around wrapping things up and trying different builds etc. One thing (or two things) driving me insane is that I'm missing the essence stones supposedly dropped by Menders & Conjurers. Menders aren't particularly common but there's 1-2 reliable spawns in Bastengar's underground with the Spiker & Shellbasher sites/fights (the actual Mender site in Monsalar Wildlands only activated twice and now nothing spawns there). But I'm at 79 Mender kills and no "Inner Peace" essence stone so far (and I'm running a full Fortune/drop chance build at the moment!). As for the Conjurer, I’ve only encountered two and neither dropped the “Protective Instinct” essence stone. I’ve not found any others to fight, even during Watcher’s Fury events in the various maps.
Just bought the game last weekend and enjoying it. I do have a question. I have all my stones assigned in all tiers. But how come when I’m in combat and I switch to the different tiers on the fly, they’re empty. The essence stones don’t show up ? Really fun game and have been telling people.
Help! I’m trying to do the watcher fury but the event won’t activate. I keep going around the circle and killed all enemies. am I supposed to do something specific so it starts?
It's a random event, that triggers depending on the time you spent in an area and the amount of monsters you killed. There is a quest to trigger it instantly, given out by the travelling vendor in the second region. Is there an issue with this specific quest for you? If so, please submit a ticket with our support and we'll look into it! www.deck13.com/contact/support -Phil
Cinematically it’s weak partly due to bad lip syncing. Combat is fun and I’m excited to see new enemies/variants. A solid 7 outta 10 from an action rpg enjoyer. Narrative wise, games have got to stop the no background main character, there are no stakes and it makes it difficult to relate. Just pull a cyberpunk I.e. character creator but has a background. Storylines need emotion to them, and it impossible to create a unique emotion for everyone, so settle for one well put together emotion via a history/story.
Cont. looking at every well reviewed video game storyline you’ll notice a pattern. Usually characters are thrusted into scenarios in which they must fight they’re way out of. Only to eventually be put into heartbreaking decision, atomic heart portrayed this well but it’s also the basic design you’ll see in other games. The stakes are predetermined but your action make a change, while atlas fallen is seemingly leading to this, something is missing, and it’s main character connections! Who do I CARE FOR. 4 hours in and who? Nyal? Traveler? Too much mystery for a narrative to be engaging. Look into Nier Automata a 10/10 story with tons of mystery but characters I could cry for, all because they had connections with other characters that had conflict
@@wulfhrafnragnarsson why isn't there a story? Dumb take. Imagining it means making up the story, which I don't want to do, I want to see someone overcome their hardships. Impossible if they don't have any and I gotta imagine it, smh

The overall verdict seems to be meh. Haven't heard any reviews where the good isn't quickly followed up with some sort of bad. Was looking forward to this, but decided to wait. Doesn't seem like a 60 dollar product.
Just uninstalled it due to the platforming challenges, its a shame because I was enjoying it until then. I wish we had an option to silence Nyaal, its very irritating to have him point out the obvious alot of the time. I wish there were more armour sets aswell. Oh and map markers need fixing, alot of the times the item is further away than where the actual marker is
This game is just missing something. It often feels empty and dialogue is mediocre at best. Like Forspoken at its worse. Exploration is very good and combat feels nice. Unfortunately i cant recommend it at the moment. The game just feels so barebones.
I think this game would be awesome if it wents down the monster hunter like arpg route. Like destroying a wraiths armor and building an awesome armor set from the drops.
@@j0w3s you might wanna check out The Surge 2, their previous game, because it has exactly that! You see a cool piece of armor or weapon? Target the limb, cut it and craft it to use it yourself!
@@j0w3s Just no, the core mechanics are fine but need fine tuning. If you want to play Monster Hunter, play Monster Hunter or similar games. There are enough of this type of games. The core problem is that wraiths are the only enemies. The world surely could offer hostile humans, animals and elemental monsters like stone golems.
I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with the game. From mechanics and button mappings, to environments and activities, to settings and playstyle, this game has it for me.
@@germanCouchWarrior what do you mean "similar games" and "there are enough of this type of games" ? What is this game then...not an arpg? You didnt even answer to what he wrote: "Like destroying a wraiths armor and building an awesome armor set from the drops" And just FYI there are no other games on the market that are "like" Monster Hunter except the recent released WILD HEARTS (47% on steam) and maybe Horizon Zero Dawn
It's fun but there are some pop in issues, ground, rock, and sand textures need work, sometimes the player character as well as NPCs audio goes out, enemies aren't spawning like they should be, and honesty I think it just needs an overall graphical improvement. This should've been done on a better engine like UE5. They're doing Lords of The Fallen with it so I don't know why they didn't use it for this. Otherwise I think it's a good game.

Why do you need to relate to the character for? It's just a game. Use your imagination and come up with your own background.
