Is this a good game for kids? My 5yr old nephew loves BOTW, so I'm thinking about buying it for him, just worried it will be too complex for him though. Although, I'm sure BOTW is complex too lol, I think he just likes that these games are open world though.
Been 2 weeks so I don't ilknow if you probably bought it or didn't but I'd say it's slightly too complicated for a 5 year old. But that depends on how smart she/he is lol. I'd say a lot of the things like potions and crafting etc. might go over their head but as I said depends if they are naturally perceptive and smart. I'm making this sound way too complicated...sorry.
I don’t understand people’s logic in “it looks like [game], so I won’t buy it.” Like, if you enjoyed that game, why not play a game that is very similar. If you enjoyed one, you should enjoy the other.
Well, if you don't have a lot of time for gaming why would i play a game that was just like a game I just completed or recently played. They're so many games out there mine as well mix it up and try something that is completely different or tries something new, no?
@👁 well, the key difference is that Fenyx can pick up anything, not just metallic, and she has a weight limit, and can move with lighter object, even jump with some. There's lot's of distinctive elements to both.
Man I swear I keep prolonging this exact issue by capitalizing on all of Playstations deals. So now my backlog is overwhelming haha one step at a time I guess.
I played both breath of the wild and this game, and the thing that really makes me prefer this game over botw is its equipment and ability system. Every piece of equipment you find in the world is unique, and the ability to change the appearance of your equipment without changing their abilities is amazing.
See, for me, I think BoTW is a little better because of the atmosphere. I love that it feels like a lived-in world, and there’s plenty of likable characters spread though out the towns and stables. That being said, I’m a absolutely loving Fenyx. The character herself is really endearing to me, and I think some of the game’s aspects like the combat and traversal are better than BoTW.
I played this game for several hours. It truly makes me sad that the comparison with Breath of the Wild exists. Because BOTW is the BEST game in terms of sound and atmosphere. It pains me that other companies haven't caught on. I can't give a single care about the graphics. Even a mediocre game like Morrowind is Hall of Fame material because of the art direction and sound.
@@user-xg6zz8qs3q I played BOTW and got bored after less than a month, it's a great game don't get me wrong, but there will be better games similar coming out like this and even Genshin imho.
I've been enjoying the game a lot. It borrows from what made Breath of the Wilds great, and puts their own twist on the formula. And it's amazing listening to Zeus and Prometheus banter while you're playing
@@tyson9670 definitely a good way bro, I’m not even saying that to jump on any bandwagon either. The game is fun af to me. I been grinding out finding armors and weapons etc.. it’s like Zelda imo, and if you love Zelda, you will absolutely love this game bro.
Personally I love this game, I did not realize the similarity to BotW immediately, but I during the first 4 hours of the game. I would say it incorporates the vaults into the game better than Zelda's shrines because they contribute to the story of the game. The narrations make the vaults less boring too, and some of the vaults require certain abilities. Overall it is a well-rounded game for certain.
After working with the public all day and dealing and dealing with covid. It's nice to come home and just have fun with a relaxing game. This is one of the funnest games I've played in quite some time.
I looked up "funnest" because it seemed weird and I found that while "fun" is often just "more/most fun" as an adjective describing how much fun something is compared to other things, it can have what are called 'superlative' forms. For example the superlative form of "pretty" is "prettier" or "prettiest" (depending on how many others are pretty, with "prettiest" meaning you are describing it/them as "the most pretty of all") so with "fun" even though "more/most fun" is more common, technically "funner/funnest" is still correct (despite spellcheck yelling at me). I always heard that you generally look at syllable amount to determine which is more accurate, like "beautiful" being "more/most beautiful" rather than "beautifuller/beautifullest" compared to "dry" with "more/most dry" vs "dryer/dryest," but it's clear (like with most of English) that there's always room to experiment and no one way of speaking is ever objectively 'correct.'
@@iamshow6477 I love all those games.. just pointing out the silliness of those who criticize Immortals for being derivative to one other game when there's so many shooters and souls likes out there.

I'd really recommend this game, I was lukewarm about it but decided to buy it instead of valhalla and it's been really awesome. It reminds me of what I want a new fable to feel like, I think it's been underrated by a lot of the big publications.
Valhalla is awesome to man trust me buy it, its amazing... you can harpoon someone off a twer like scorpion and jump in the air and slash them its dope..
No,dont buy Valhalla,it's riddled with game-breaking bugs, save bugs, features missing and it's a worse version of Oddyssey overall. Wait a couple of months and then buy it.
I subscribed to ubisoft + so I could try some games. I tried valhalla and I don't really like the way the character moves-- it feels clunky. It feels like the same movement as Ghost recon Breakpoint, which I didn't like because of the character control/movement. Gonna try Immortals. Hopefully the movement is better.

The game seems to take more inspiration from AC and other "chores" games than BotW, to me at least. I'm not sure if I'm willing to jump into it yet, but that DLC seems real promising.
Q personally disagree, I loved the shrines and music scores, and I’ve played most of the Zelda series and this is my favorite one. Loved the open world, colors, and just the feel of the game; there was just so much to do and see, it was amazing. But to each their own, if you felt differently that’s cool too
@Q I despised breath of the wild, it felt empty and boring. Breaking weapons really interrupted The Flow. The dungeons all felt The same. In my opinion one of The worst games in The series and a huge let down. Ocarina of time is still The King in my book closely followed by wind waker. Having a really Hard time understanding all The perfect review scores The game got. Jim Sterling was on point on this one.
If you take Breathe of the Wild, a bit of the Jak and Daxter spirit thrown in, and then add Greek mythology you have yourself this game. Fun is exactly what this game is. The map is not bloated whatsoever, all areas (so far) have their own feel and sort of thematic elements. I've heard it isn't a very long game, clocking in at about 20 to 30 hours but that is almost a breathe of fresh air nowadays. It knows how to make its stay effective without getting boring and when you start to wonder what more to do in a given area, you are then already heading off to another new area. That is smart. This is most definitely this years hidden gem and it is well worth it.
Love your channel and had to come to the comments about this game. You’re spot on with your review to buy. I was raised on Zelda. Ocarina defined my middle school years. This has major breath vibes but what makes me forever love this game is that it’s the first one my 4 y.o. daughter picked up and she’s blown away. She grabs me every so often to help her with the “tough” guys and her jaw drops when I blow them away. The colors and the flying along with climbing gets her so excited and I have to praise this game. It gets me excited. This is a parenting nirvana seeing my kid vibe hard on a game where I’ve been a gamer since 1989. I always wondered if she’d like gaming and now she’s all in because of this one. We even started a Twitch to record and talk with others (managed 100% by me obviously). This is not my fav game but it’s our fav game and that makes it so much better.
I've been playing this game for just a few days now and I love it. My biggest gripe with BOTW is that there was very little story and no structure as far as where to go and what to do. This game remedies both of those and makes for (in my opinion) a more engaging experience.
I loved the "show and don't tell" approach to BOTW's story. The lack of structure is a huge win for BOTW, since most adventure games kinda feel linear because of the obvious story path. In BOTW, you just take your time and witness stuff as they happen. HOWEVER, the shrines in BOTW kinda made the game super repetitive and could make people lose interest. Ditto with resource-collecting in BOTW.

Absolutely loved it! At the beginning it was the graphics and overall feel that got me hooked. Then the story, the jokes, the characters, hell, more or less everything that made me more or less play the whole thing through in one session.
All in one sitting? You said all in one session so I’m just thinking you know how did you go to the bathroom, did you spend all your time playing the game, did you eat if so are your controller/keyboard and mouse all sticky and greasy?
@@NickNishikiyama there is a pause button on controller, getting up to use the bathroom or eat doesn't "end a session". What a weird comment you've made.
I've been playing it a little and I really love it. I only have one gripe and that's the fact that when fast traveling or exiting from a pit and you get the black loading screen where it is autosaving. I keep getting an issue where it keeps on that screen forever and never changes. I have to close out the game and reload it to get it to work. Other than that it's a very enjoyable game and I'm having a LOT of fun finding new ways to defeat enemies. Like when a cyclops throws a rock at you you can catch it midair and throw it back causing a lot of damage. It's really a great game. Just wish the autosave loading screen wasn't so buggy and crashing my game.

This game is an absolutely perfect game. I've been gaming for 25 years and its a perfect game. Its so fun. Great story. Doesn't take itself too seriously. INCREDIBLE combat mechanics. The vaults are fun because they are brain games. So you get just the right amount of killing and farming, with just the right amount of intellectual stimulation from the puzzles you have to solve. Everything works exactly how its supposed to, and it is just a a super fun game to play. Just an absolutely solid and perfect game.
Right??? I'm roughly 17 hours in and have only completed the Aphrodite questline. Exploration doesn't feel like needless busy work, everything has a purpose.
Immortals is definately up there as one of my favorite games of 2020. I think its bad to ditch a game just because it resembles another game off the bat. The majority of games in the world is pretty much a blatant copy of another, but with new ideas, a new world and mechanics. Thats how genres improves, and you can say a lot about Ubisoft but they are amazing at creating stunning worlds. Sure, I dont have any BOTW experience, but I dont think the puzzles in Immortals are so bad and generic as this video mentions. I actually came across some pretty cool brain twisters on my playthrough. But yeah, amazing game that I highly recommend.
From everything i have seen between this and 6 other videos...... Its BOTW through and through.... Different story alone makes it interesting though.... If not there could never be a sequal to a game... After all.... Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 are almost twins in every way except the story itself...

I just bought it for my switch lite! Just now! waiting for the download to complete! it was only like 25 bucks it was on sale... I said eff it gonna give it a try...how was the game?
I would say the exact opposite. This one actually looks good, and I am very interested in it, but their other games are constantly getting worse. Far Cry games have gotten less interesting, Watch Dogs Legions is not as fun as 2. The AC games were progressively getting worse, then they rebooted them into RPGs, which was fun, but not very AC. Even that is already feeling stale in the third entry of the RPG phase. This does look great though, and I am excited for the Snowboarding/biking game that is coming out soon. Will definitely wait for reviews though
@@voidpope fair enough. I actually really enjoyed the Far Cry games, but I felt like they hit a high point at 3. 4 and 5 were drawing too much from the same formula. Honestly the only complaint I have about this game is that. The character faces are HORRIBLE, like they remind of the cross Gen og xbox/xbox 360 titles. But that's really it. This game feels like a return to form for action adventure games.

This game goes insanely hard. I got the complete edition on a sale. If you've enjoyed BotW and/or Genshin you're gonna love this. The puzzles are interesting and fun to solve, the skills and attack combos are satisfying as fuck, combat is fast paced and you can flee fights, there's horses to ride, you'll get a cool bird and the narrators are funny as shit. Exact same situation lol, i loved this game so much, my only complain is the third dlc where they changed the camera angle to top view which i’m not really a fan of. Besides that everything is perfect.
I genuinely like this game, it’s really pretty and the mechanics are honestly really fun. It’s just nice and relaxing compared to a hyper realistic crazy tough game. The Boss fights are fantastic, enemies are varied enough, and the gameplay loop is good. Solid 8-8.5 out of 10 👍🏻👍🏻

I have a switch and have beaten the hell out of Breath of the Wild... I personally don’t think that’s a proper statement... the mechanics in BOTW are not better by any means. It’s a great system and amazing game but this is not that same feeling in my opinion. Yea it’s totally going for the same gameplay loop but BOTW doesn’t have any skill trees, character customization, a true narrative. It has many other things going for it. But this is scratching a different itch for me, if you know what I mean
@@awkwardsilence4427 personally speaking, you don't have to experience one over the other. They each offer a unique spin on the formula they have, and they're both a blast to play. I find Zelda to be a bigger map, while Immortals feels a bit denser with activities. Both offer amazing experiences though
One tiny, insignificant detail I loved seeing in this video was your helmet vanishing when going into a cutscene. Unrelated, but I REALLY wish they did that for Final Fantasy 14. I love wearing helmets, but I wish there was an option to have cutscenes hide them so I can see my characters face. Because of this I never tend to wear full head and face covering helmets when I'm doing story stuff, or I'll just straight up hide them.
i wish every game would start doing this especially single player games just open narration about the location or what happened their or even a past event that you took part in, would save time reading or trolling through all the items, notes or books in games, also make it easier knowledge wise listening to it whilst your playing
I am JUST getting into this games after it sitting in my library and I have to say its so much fun! IT does a lot really well and the gameplay loop is not tedious like other open world games- Ubisoft and others. I feel that the world while not being too big is dense and there is a ton of discovery. Also the 'dungeons' are a blast and some of the puzzles are very clever. Would absolutely recommend and its probably on sale or no full price so get it and enjoy!
I just finished the game. It's really gorgeous and fun. I agree with almost everything said here. I disagree with the 25-30 hours estimation though, I am 867 hours in and there is still plenty to do. If you're playing the main quest only then maybe, yes. But that would be really cutting the game short. And by the way, this is just the core game I'm talking about, not with DLCs. I'd really recommend you pick this up if you're a fan of Greek mythology, Action RPGs/Adventure games, or both.
I'll never understand why this amazing game is so underrated and why the sequel has been cancelled😔.To me It's one of the best games Ubisoft has made in years, much better than the last Assassin's Creed games.Beautiful colourful graphics, nice mithology stories, hilarious characters, addictive gameplay, great variety of mechanics and enemies, good character progression and personalization, original puzzles,...To me it's a masterpiece and I wish Ubi changed its mind one day and could make a sequel.People just focus on how much the game resembles Zelda but is there a game which does not resemble any other one?Immortals has its own personality and it's really worth a try
(edit: added my original comment i deleted accidentely) thats what happens to soulles copycat games, that just borrow ideas form elsewhere, give it a new coat of paint, while just making sure to check all the marks in the modern game design book. it bekomes stale slop. dont get me wrong though, its on sale on steam right now and i might try it and return it. i just fear its going to be the same type of content creep that turned me off of assassins creed origins & odysee. A huge map full of everything, only to repeat the same two things over and over, with the only motivating part being slightly better gear, and maybe a meaningless level up. Its what ubisoft has become and is now known for: gameplay revolving on the tiniest carrot on the stick.

When I played BotW I immediately didn’t like it, but with Fenyx it’s completely different. Even though they’re very similar I love that the game is very lighthearted and being interested in Greek mythology the narration and characters involved are fun to listen to, especially Zeus and Prometheus constant narration. Everyone got a little sass and they implemented it pretty well into the game, telling stories of actual Greek mythology. This game might even get me into BotW again, but it ticks a bunch of different boxes and is a game right up my alley. I was actually surprised that I really like it, as I knew the mechanics would be extremely similar to BotW.
Just got this game 2 days ago thanks to watching your review. Like you, I totally dismissed this game when it came out. The game cover, art style and character design jus put me off and I assumed I wouldn't like it. I was so wrong. I'm having so much fun already. There's a lot I like about this game. Like Zelda, as you travel around you see something that peaks your interest and you decide to side track and find yourself discovering a little hidden treasure, riddle, side quest etc.. The combat is actually really good and punchy with a nice parry and counter system, light attack weapon and a heavy attack weapon. Quite a bit to customise from armour, head gear, bow, sword and axe. Really glad I gave this game a go. I just wish they did a bit more with the sound track like when you're roaming around, and better character design + voice acting (I play as the female character because the character design for the guy was too boring for me) but the voice acting for the girl is a little boring too. Apart from that this game is a great open world game and I can look past the faults. Thanks for the review!

I’m loving it. Started it up and hours fell away. Visually a treat, looks amazing on the Xbox Series X.
I just bought it yesterday. It's the only XSX game I have. I haven't played it yet tho.
I have it on PS5
Being like breath of the Wild shouldn’t put anyone off. It should be an incentive to play!
Right I was like what the heck
i wish every game would start doing this especially single player games just open narration about the location or what happened their or even a past event that you took part in, would save time reading or trolling through all the items, notes or books in games, also make it easier knowledge wise listening to it whilst your playing
I got it on release day and having fun playing it since; I've come across some glitches but nothing too big to be an issue yet but still enjoyable
So did you finish it?
@@Getreidekeks Yup it was a tough fight but a pretty good ending
@@joseroman5084 good on you mate I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I'll never understand why this amazing game is so underrated and why the sequel has been cancelled😔.To me It's one of the best games Ubisoft has made in years, much better than the last Assassin's Creed games.Beautiful colourful graphics, nice mithology stories, hilarious characters, addictive gameplay, great variety of mechanics and enemies, good character progression and personalization, original puzzles,...To me it's a masterpiece and I wish Ubi changed its mind one day and could make a sequel.People just focus on how much the game resembles Zelda but is there a game which does not resemble any other one?Immortals has its own personality and it's really worth a try
the sequel was cancelled!? oh man thats lame 😢 this game was incredible!
No sequel? So is the story worth paying attention to? Does the story have a cliff hanger or does it not need a sequel?
(edit: added my original comment i deleted accidentely)
thats what happens to soulles copycat games, that just borrow ideas form elsewhere, give it a new coat of paint, while just making sure to check all the marks in the modern game design book. it bekomes stale slop.
dont get me wrong though, its on sale on steam right now and i might try it and return it. i just fear its going to be the same type of content creep that turned me off of assassins creed origins & odysee. A huge map full of everything, only to repeat the same two things over and over, with the only motivating part being slightly better gear, and maybe a meaningless level up. Its what ubisoft has become and is now known for: gameplay revolving on the tiniest carrot on the stick.
@@mofomikoyou called it. despite the fact that people here are defending the game, not a single one of them can do so without comparing it to BOTW. Obviously this game had nowhere to go
@@mofomiko Hmm, while Immortals is obviously heavily inspired by Breath of the wild, I wouldn't call it entirely "soul less". The story and combat system are nice and different from BotW, though the puzzles and loot in it do get repetitive and annoying. Its got microtransactions but they're only cosmetic
I'll never play this game, but I'll watch every one of these guys videos.....thats how amazing this channel is....carry on ✌🏾
Yes 🙌
Same
Every time I think about getting this game, I just think: why would I ever play this when Cyberpunk is coming out in a few days
That's exactly what I'm thinking lol. Maybe I'll pick this up next year when I'm done with CP2077.
I was thinking the same but got it anyway don’t regret it at all story is not that long btw about 25 hours to complete solid game it’s one of those that is fun to watch and bland to watch
Keeping me busy till cyberpunk comes out.
@@yourcucumberissoftandyourg3114 maybe Cyberpunk will come Out next year
I just bought both yesterday.
Honestly BOTW is one of my favorite games on the switch and when I saw this game on the switch now. Im really considering buying it.
I was totally put off by this game when I saw it. My buddy told me I was missing out but I didnt listen. It went on sale, I was bored so I bought it and man, this game is great!
Ok, it's on sale now but I'm still undecided if I want it or not 🤔🤔
@@HUYI1 get it! Especially if you’re looking for a new game.
@@betweenthebars19 I did, it's not bad so far ❤️❤️ some parts reminds me of AC Valhalla!
I always had faith in it. I love Greek mythology so this was already going to draw my attention. I haven’t played Breath of the Wild yet, so I won’t mind any similarities. To me it just looks really beautiful and great. Can’t wait to get my hands on it 😁😁
Yeah me toi
1:56 Jak and Daxter, masterpiece
this channel should be called after you buy because i just ordered this and now im watching reviews after the fact haha
I searched this up around 30 minutes ago and was disappointed it wasn’t up. Checked just now and it’s up lol
...great story bro.

No? Bye!” Also noticed you joined 9 years ago so I’m wondering if you just sit in your mum’s basement all day writing hate comments in UA-cam. Is this true?
I'm actually watching this before I'm about to buy it

... Who tf isn't.
I don't get why people would dislike a game immediately just because it reminds them of another game that was actually very good. We live in quite the pessimistic world don't we! lol
Facts.
It was an easy buy for me . Haven’t seen such a beautiful game since ghost of Tsushima and RDR2 and of course breathe of the wild.
This seems like a game that i’d absolutely get when it goes on sale
I bought this game today for $13 and I'm having a really good time with it
Great deal
Thanks for the amazing review man. I had bought the game, finished cyber punk, was thinking about starting Valhalla, but was super curious on this for a while because I haven't heard anyone come in. So thanks to you before I start my Valhalla session, I think ima load up this one. :)
This gives me Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning vibes and I'm all about that!
