I just ordered this, it seems like this should be a very easy install, I'm doing an aluminum radiator as well

Thanks for the video you did a good job. Did it help keep the system cooler.

Thanks, I didn't take actual before and after temps but the engine does take noticeably longer to warm up from a cold start. That is my biggest indication the kit works. Also on the highway the fan clutch takes a bit longer to engage than before (1-2 mins longer between cycles). For the price and ease of installation I'd say its worth it for the peace of mind.

Hi friend. I would like to explain better what I did today. the 2 radiators placed in the upper part have been completely disassembled and worked to have them restored. one if I'm not mistaken is that of air conditioning and the other that of engine and transmission oil. As for the latter, first of all, I have a question for you. 1) Should the gear oil level be checked with the dipstick when the engine is running and when it is hot? 2) after draining the coolant from the drain valve, I added 17 liters. How many liters do you need? 3) today I dedicate myself to the level of the engine coolant. I filled the tank to maximum and turned on the h1 from a standstill by turning the main and auxiliary fan to maximum by moving the heater knob completely hot and waiting for the engine to reach normal operating temperature. the car remained stationary during this operation with the engine running without driving. When the engine reached normal operating temperature, I unscrewed the screw of the 2 air bleeds but not a lot of air came out and no coolant came out. because? I'm asking you this because I don't want to cause engine damage and burn the cylinder head gasket. thanks friend .
    Kings regards Gianfranco

      Hey GF,
Unfortunately, this isn't an H1. This is a military Humvee which has a different system and I don't know enough about civilian Hummers to accurately answer that question.

I've debated getting that kit for my suburban. Question the small hoses.

I've never had any complaints about my hose size. However, the kit did help reduce the temperature.

Looks like a great mod, expensive though. The only real specialty parts are the two pieces that mount on the head, the rest look like common inexpensive fittings that could be bought at any fitting store for very little.

Would love to chat about your regustration in NY, I just got an M998 and need to go to DMV.

Took a fair amount of jumping through hoops to obtain the proper papers over 6 months. Plenty of phone calls too. govplanet was a big help 4 years ago. At this time I am unsure if you can register these in NY (anyone comment?). For the life of me I can't remember all of the docs that were needed. My best advice is contact your DMV with plenty of time/patience and hopefully you'll get it there. Nice to hear from another HMMWV fan, cheers mate!

Those lines don’t get too hot and melt above the engine there?

They are designed for up to 1000deg continuous and 1500deg for short periods. They are also stainless steel braided then rubber coated on the outside.

How long did it take to install from start to finish? I plan on starting my install this weekend. Is it a one day job? Thanks!

    • @outlulz4758

It took more than two hours but less than one year. Unlike the time it took for me to respond to this comment.

Who do you have for insurance? I got progressive but for some reasons there going to dump me ? I don’t have a bad driving record ? I live in New York also. Great video !

Thanks! I have State Farm for insurance and I use "classic car" coverage since the HMMWV is more than 25 years old. Beware there are mileage limitations (I believe less than 2k/yr). However my HMMWV spends more time off road than on it, so I never come close to that.

Did you see a big difference in temperature and performance?? I'd love to know before I spend 300$ on the unit! Thanks!

      Hi Mark,
The biggest improvement I noticed was the time between the fan engaging has increased (fan runs less frequently).

How did you install a kill switch for your fan my fan clutch only works when i unplug the module under the driver side of the hood my temp slowly crawls up to 230 then I have to stop open the hood and unplug the module so the fan will engage. Its getting to be a real pain in the ass. I am more then likely going to install that kit you demoed thanks for the video lots of help I really appreciate you filming while you did this job so I can see how it works!!!!
