It would be nice if there was a temperature sensor on the back of the block to see what the temperature difference before and after. What year is your Hummwv ? Anything for these military rides is expensive since it’s a niche market. Watching another UA-camr with a Hummwv he has sourced parts from both GM and Chrysler for some hard to find parts. I would like to find the block diagram and schematic to that module that controls the glow plugs. That is one expensive cookie to replace. I priced outa unit that replaces the auto glow plug system and with the key lockout and extended preheat button it comes in around $900, ouch! I need to know what other items the original box controls other than the glow plugs. Enjoy the ride and let us know the results.
I agree, it would be interesting to hit the rear of the block with a laser temp gun before and after install, but I just do this UA-cam stuff for fun and taking that doghouse cover off/unplugging all my stuff is a chore lol. You are right, those boxes aint cheap! I had to replace one on my first Humvee and it hurt my wallet bad. Once you get the more reliable version in (I forgot which it is) then you probably won't have any problems.
Hey kev maybe you can help me when i turn the heater to high I'll hear a click then it shuts off i put it back to off position so it doesn't burn up it almost sounds like the smart box makes the click then shuts off. Any idea. Thanks
I put the kit on my 1123 over a year ago. I didn't notice anything different with the cooling. But I didnt take before and after temperatures. One observation, your engine has the same rebuilders sticker as my turbo 6.5 M1151a1. 🍻🇺🇸

@johnbaptist550 hey man, thanks for the constructive criticism. I do this as a hobby and often my production quality is admittedly not great. I see by your username you are probably a fellow Christian so God bless and hope you have a great week/weekend.
Great video. Need to do this to my cobra. Funny how they have the same issue
This is Kyle J right lol?
@@Kevin24Seven lol nope
@KyleSVT oh weird I knew a Kyle in high-school who had a Cobra.
@@Kevin24Seven oh nice lol

Just bypass the smart box, install a 24 volt momentary switch leading to the glowplug harness. Mine works great that way.

@michaelpandolfi9765 sorry not sure what that's all about. I would check your grounds, maybe add a supplementary harness.
Sounds good thanks . I definitely will be adding the ground been wanting to get that

Same, the thing that made the biggest difference for me was the fan clutch upgrade I did
@@hummerguy nice, what did you do with the fan clutch?

your filming was weak. didn't even show the finished connections behind the dog house
