The efforts Capcom went through to still keep Ethan's face hidden in a third person DLC (where you LITERALLY see him from another's point of view) is downright hilarious.

For me, the tutorial pop ups didnt show up until my 5th attempt
I had a glitch where tutorial pop ups weren’t showing, and I checked they were on like ten times. So I didn’t know I had a grab escape or a dodge move. Played the entire thing on hardcore just juking and shooting enemies when I could’ve totally used grab invincibility to bypass hard parts. I felt so annoyed.
I literally just ran around and jog dodged all of Miranda’s attacks and shot her with the shotgun a bunch when I froze her. Also the prompt for the shockwave that finished the fight didn’t come up so I died at that part like four times without ever knowing what to do. Had to look it up.

@@Gshadin You only get the dash for the fight with Miranda, but when you get grabbed by regular enemies you can burn a power use to escape the grab, freeze the enemy for a couple seconds, and then you get the RE patented grab-invulnerability for a couple seconds. I did not know this was an option on my initial playthrough.

Fun fact: the aftermath of this game is a collective consciousness where all people infected with either Mold or Cadou (everyone from RE7 and RE8) just hang out and talk about stuff forever. Ethan just happened to work out a contingency act where everyone would masquerade as evil or malicious individuals to help Rose overcome or understand her trauma better.

Yeah, they were already treading the line with Eveline in RE7 (especially since she was a pretty blatant knockoff of Alma Wade), but now they've basically dropped all pretense.
This is happening in a weird memory/dream world inside the megamycete, we don't know how Rose's powers manifest in reality.

The entire time I was playing through this DLC all I could think was the most unrealistic part of the whole story was that a pretty girl with superpowers wasn't the most popular girl at school lol. Also the lengths they went to to keep Ethan's face hidden is getting insane at this point. Like bro, it's not that important. When his arm was blocking his face I couldn't even take the serious moment seriously

man i loved this dlc. the way ethan writes to rose reminds me of how my dad always used to reply to texts and it gets me sentimental for some reason. hell, the ending even got a couple of tears out of me lol. great vid as always homie
I also loved the DLC, it actually made me care about Ethan, in the main game he's sweet but kind of lame, but the DLC makes him lame but in an endearing way and also badass. I really liked Rose too, the bullying stuff brought on unexpected feels.
My favorite part was when Rose went "It's Rosin' time"
I did like when she starting Rosing up and then rosed all over the place
Capcom hiding Ethan's face has to be an inside joke and it just became what it is now

I just played through the DLC, and oh my god the effort they go to just to hide my boy Ethans' face. Like, we already know what he looks like from RE7, but this is absurd man.

Up until near the very end, Ethan truly believed that he was just a normal dude. And, yet, he fought on.

there was a bug with this dlc where the mom mannequin doll would move faster than it should based off your refresh rate. You want to play it at 60hz during then, which was why you were getting caught a lot before even able to get past that door

Just something I had thought about when I played the DLC (since he mentions the matching puzzle being childish):
I kind of found that every puzzle, dilemma and such were all things that Ethan had never gotten to do with Rose naturally. In a way, the years that she grew up without him, were all handled within that world.
Ethan got to watch her “grow up” from being scared of her gift to being in control of it. I liked the theme of parent/child (you even see it in Mother Miranda, the doll woman, lady demitrescu…).
I took the puzzle to be like the games you get as a little kid where your parent kind of helps you through the associating process
Don't accept guns from mysterious mushrooms pretending to be angels and telling you to jump
