It never gets old to hear "the runner performs three ultra precise tricks in a row using corners of invisible walls after glitch leaping off a back-alley operating table...this saves 1.5 seconds"
That's what I love about speedruns though. If someone lands that trick successfully, gets world record having done the trick, guess what trick every single person who wants to beat that record will have to do? Yeah, once speedrunning gets that optimized, that 1.5 seconds becomes *entirely neccesary* in the run to have a competitive time. Good thing its in the beginning of the run though, so you can just reset and pray you land it again in 2 or 3 minutes.
If you think about 100m sprints. Runners are winning at decimal points between each other, but when you actually see how much distance 0.5s or 1 second covers amongst professional athletes, it's pretty amazing. Same thing here really. 1.5s is actually more than you think, especially when you add those up across a single run.

Yeah but sometimes it feels as though he pauses the video for minute just for one or two glitches, that sometimes makes the video feel a little sluggish, it’s better when he’s explaining while the runner is doing something else like going form A to B and he has time to explain it.
I could never kill Sokolov, I did it once just to test it out but then reloaded a previous save. I didn’t care too much about Megan though so I didn’t feel too bad about killing her.
@@VexedContainer5 oh no I killed all of them at least once. In the first game I played a little mini game to see how many people I could kill at the bar before the game forced me to load a save. Hello Mr. Anus, I just wanted to tell you that like, idk, maybe a year ago? I began entering a very dark place in my life. I was very depressed as COVID loneliness really began to hit; I had graduated college in May and the dreadful realization that the economy was sinking and I wouldn't get a job any time soon was really hitting hard. To compound all that, I had to move back in with my Dad, who was a really really shitty parent for the next year (like, he threatened to kick me out on my birthday sort of bad). Since then, though, I really took your words about 'no feeling being final' to heart. I got a good job in my field, not great but enough to make me hopeful I can move up with experience. I moved in with a friend and I'm actually in one of the nicest places I've ever lived now. It's my favorite game series of all time, even trumping LoZ series and many more. It really is a shame it doesn't have the popularity it deserves I've never played a game where reading every note you find is even remotely worth it, but every note in this series is so masterfully crafted that it's mind boggling
I only finished this game yesterday and my jaw quite literally dropped when I saw that you can change the present mansion during "A Crack in the Slab", insanely cool for Arkane to have included that in this game when im sure barely anybody would have noticed if they hadn't.
I really appreciate the message of positivity about halfway through this video. My aunt committed suicide two days ago, leaving... a lot behind. It's very confusing and painful, and while I would never act on taking my own life out of depression, your words of kindness pulled me up a bit, and I'm very grateful. I think so many UA-camrs are content to just be shmucks making money 4 chuckles, but enforcing positivity and good habits takes mere moments, and can really help someone who's in a bad way.
I wonder what Jindosh would say after Emily phased through several walls and ceilings to appear in his lab. His "Welcome" message barely had time to start lol.

Your message really helps man. The woman I've deeply loved for six years left me and had her feelings change for another man in 3 days. I sacrificed a huge opportunity to have a lot better of a life because I'd rather have been with her, and she dumped me a week later. I also had my foot shuddered at work, and am not getting comp. No one will read it probably, but there's a story reason why the cart is there, in 18:44 So basically in the building there are two guests, both for the purpose of buying the killer machine. If we first take Sokolov to the cart, before killing Jindosh, outside of the building we can meet a person that's waiting for one of those guests - he came there by the cart; so it's not like the game thinks that we used the cart, but the cart canonically is there

Idk if you will ever see this but I just moved on my own to la to start my career away from my family and was taken a bath to cool down from my panic attack. The reassurance you have meant a lot and was a break in the matrix moment for me. Thanks. Take my sub
Finally a cultured man who uses the prendle to drive.
It’s incredible how accurate the description at 18:40 is
The most overlooked and underrated game of all time, everything in this game (even speedrun) is so cool
It's my favorite game series of all time, even trumping LoZ series and many more. It really is a shame it doesn't have the popularity it deserves
I've never played a game where reading every note you find is even remotely worth it, but every note in this series is so masterfully crafted that it's mind boggling
Arkane games in general are always underrated, they make some amazing and unique games that unfortunately never manage to sell well.
@@malek0093 unfortunately, i'm glad Deathloop is being praised, maybe we'll get a third one in the future
10:30 I love that you called it a PRNDL, suite life never gets old man.
I wonder what Jindosh would say after Emily phased through several walls and ceilings to appear in his lab.
His "Welcome" message barely had time to start lol.
great first 11 seconds of the video, keep it up!
thx, think i peaked there, rest of vid is downhill
@@therealnoodledog6660 explain?
@@therealnoodledog6660 what happened?
Actually thinking about it I don't care. I think you shouldn't involve yourself in others lives like a weirdo. Just sit and watch, he's here to entertain.
I used to speedrun this for fun on console as corvo back when it came out, I was by no means good but it's really satisfying seeing how all those techniques I learned then have evolved and improved to perfection all these years later!
I am new to the console world, playing on pc my entire life. I can't even imagine how someone can play this game with a controller (even not trying to speedrun)
This may be because I suck with a controller but still
@@Sp33dGames years of playing xbox since I was 7 probably helped lol
@@zRxLLegacy probably haha
wtf! that "you are not alone" thing jumpscared me like fr i didnt expect that to happen
Love the Sweet life of Zac and Cody PRNDL reference
Hearing tomatoanus say “bussy” has increased my life expectancy
i thought calling the outsider "the penguin from gotham" was a joke, he actually voiced him?? that's so sick
Duke Luca Abele is also Kingpin ye
I love the sudden motivational talk, it was so random witch added to the effect of it, you have a really mellow voice. Also i love you humour and edditing
Not gonna lie, the "No feeling is final" part really took me by surprise, but also really brightned my day :)
This is one of my favorite games ever, I'm so excited to see a Speedrun Explained on it. Fantastic job, Cearadeth!
Edit: Btw, would you consider covering a Death of the Outsider run if this video performs well?
I literally had no idea that you could even kill """Rosario""" and even then that you could show the body to Sokolov. I have 100% all games in the dishonored series wth
Tomato, I absolutely ADORE how you've turned your sponsor plugs into tiny dumb skits! It's like a small Tim and Eric commercial before the run starts
Grats on the 250k and I also extremely appreciate the content!
10:28 "player interacts with the PRNDL"
That hit me right in the 2007, homie.
Would you like AM? Or FMMMM?!
babe wake up... BABE WAKE UP, NEW TOMATOANUS SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED DROPPED!
So I'm bed ridden, more than heart broken, have one hell of a cabin fever, and all around hate every ounce of my situation, and am at complete rock bottom. Hearing that no feeling is final is the first bit of hope I've had in my life for a while now, and it really meant a lot. Thank you. Thank you so much.
other speedruns: I will frame perfectly time 50 keys in less than 0.5 seconds to do a skip that has 0.005% of working
this run: lets play basketball with bottles to skip cutscenes
I have been waiting for this video to come out for years
oh a blessed day
been having a rough time recently so i came to rewatch ur vids because you always include that lovely message and now this drops
and dishonoured is one of my favourite series ;;;
honestly this is a mood;
14:27 I didnt even realize how much i needed that tonight, thank you
Thank you so much, I wanted to see you cover Dishonored 2 so badly since your Dishonored 1 video is my favorite of yours. You can actually see me at the start lol.
You know what this means though. . . Death of the Outsider when?
I don't care if it's not canon anymore lmao.
No one will read it probably, but there's a story reason why the cart is there, in 18:44
So basically in the building there are two guests, both for the purpose of buying the killer machine. If we first take Sokolov to the cart, before killing Jindosh, outside of the building we can meet a person that's waiting for one of those guests - he came there by the cart; so it's not like the game thinks that we used the cart, but the cart canonically is there
Never thought I'd hear "bussy" on this channel.
But I expected to hear bussy at some point today so it doesn't count.
I needed that reminder. Thank you.
"This actually removes the Death of the Outsider expansion from canon." Thank God.
The man deserves a medal for making that non-canon tbh
Man, I always forget about the motivational tidbits midvid and it's always appreciated
I spent 45 minutes running around Karnaca before even going to the Adermirre Institute and speedrunners just sprint through that whole level in five seconds.
Didn't expect that talk about how we feel thank u man
Thanks tomato legit needed that it made me cry but really thanks I appreciate you and ur videos I constantly watch old videos as ur voice helps me fall asleep thanks man seriously I appreciate you
Life hasn’t been fun the last couple days so hearing u say that made me cry and text my sister how much I appreciate her being here for me
14:25 damn, thank you for that, just stumbled onto this video and this channel on a pretty depressing day off. I've been watching with a pretty sour look on my face kinda just trying to feel happy and while I was pretty intrigued with everything I was seeing it wasn't really perking me up, but that lovely message definitely got to me. Thank you for that, you're wonderful :)
Thanks tomatoanus. I've been hearing that a lot, but this unexpected one really caught up to me for some reason... thank you.
Yeah, I felt really down recently, came back to this video just to hear this part once more.
@@supremehonky5573 Nothing wrong with that. I hope you feel better soon.
Love that "PRNDL on the vehicle" joke you slid in there, classic.
hell yeah more tomato boy
I love how you have genuinely the best ad reads, very entertainingly acted on a channel that mostly doesnt even show the creator
Amazing vid as usual! Good job Tomatoanus and Cearadeth :D

20 minute speed run, 40 minute video, I wouldn't have it any other way. ❤️
