I've had this happen to two different bikes on brand new engines that hadn't even ran for 15 min. & both were just sitting there idling when it happened. One bent the end of the crankshaft & the other broke the end of the crankshaft completely off, either way the engines were junk after that.. 🤷♂🤷♂
I have a question, my neighbor bought a bike with a 100cc engine on it, I thought it was a blown head gasket, when I pulled it off I installed new head bolts, when putting it back together I noticed on the piston where the rings are supposed to meet up to the little pins the pins were missing could that be causing problems with the engine? I'm trying to save him money so I don't know if I should replace the piston or just the whole motor, any advice?
That's a tuff call to make on this end when I'm not there to see it..🤔A person does want the pins to be there to keep the rings from rotating & the ring gaps to be staggered & not to let the rings rotate to where the ring gaps are at a port so they don't break the ring.. BUT.. If the cylinder looks OK I think I'd just make sure the ring gaps were staggered & away from any port openings put it back together & see if it runs, if it runs fine I'd go ahead & run it..It's not like the rings really spin on a piston anyway it's more of a precaution anyway.
Sorry it took so long for me to reply.. 😥😥You can get the magnet just about anywhere on line, E-Bay or even Amazon.. What you have to watch out for is usually when this happens it bends the end of the crankshaft that the Magnet slides on & then the engine is now junk.. 🤬🤬Check it before you order a new Magnet by taking out the spark plug & turning the engine over & look at the end of the shaft, if it wobbles it's bent..
@@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes okay so it’s not bent but the nut was put to tight and snapped the end of the shaft we’re the magnet is any idea how to get new part or fix
@@troynew4608 There is no fix per say, the only two choices you have are to get a new rotating assembly ( Crank shaft with piston & rod ) OR if it's a new engine return it. I've had this happen twice, the first one broke off the end just like yours & the second one bent the crank shaft end, both times they replaced the engine. When this happened to me they were both new bike engine kits & it was the first time they were ever started & both were just sitting there idling @ a low RPM. The Magnet falling apart is a parts failure & not something you or I did, so they should Re-Place the engine for you.. 👍👍
I agree..If the companies that manufacture these little engines would just put 10% better quality in their materials, they would all be a pretty good product.🚴♂🚴♂

Wow that's a new one to watch out for.

What can go wrong, sooner or later will go wrong.
That’s exactaly what happened to mine

@@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes ok cool thanks for the advice, always appreciated
well if the company lets you keep this one you should try to hammer it straight and it could be used as a spare
They did so I'll just keep it on the shelf for parts. 🤷♂
Anybody know where I can get a new one?

Was that rust I saw on the magnet?
No rust just pulverized magnet dust.
What a total disaster. These engines are brilliant... but only in concept, not in execution.
