I know it seems a bad thing to have the fuel line get hard, "Oh it's old and needs replacing." Not necessarily. Check out motorcycles and other machines where gas lines are exposed and you'll see they too are hard. Even new machines. That's so if they bump something sharp or hard and blunt the fuel lines won't cut or break loose easily. A lot of times the part they are connected to will break before the gas line does. Your right though, the fuel lines that come with it do shrink, but over sizing by making the cuts to it on install about 1/2" or 10mm longer will take care of that. Just my 2 cents worth. GREAT video....and reasonable price for your work and parts....I can't stand people that think because you paid less for the parts and your charging a little for your time and expertise,,they think that they should pay you what you paid for the part...SMH...any shop out here will upcharge the cost of the parts and of course a labor fee...I feel that $80 is a reasonable price for your time and knowledge that you gained over the years.... Great video! However, I would recommend a spring loaded chain tensioner (no welding) and also picture hanging wire wrapped around the gas line connections to prevent leakage-John in Texas

Thanks surprized me because I'm having the same problem with my bike and you addressed the problem and showed how to fix it very in formative on my bike for a while I hadn't noticed the spark plug wire in between the boot and the CDI was on the Cylinder and had melted I'm guessing copper wire broke

If theirs rust around the bolt of the sparkplug should I change this out it also seems to be the fuel line is hard as well And theirs oil that's stained on the tail pipe I'm not sure of the history of this bike it's an 80 cc engine 2 stroke the guy I got it from said the carburetor needed changed out which seems that's the case any suggestions?
Will I solve the problem I bought a new motor it's running great thing about the second time around when you put one together you do it right don't take no shortcuts do the break-in properly and hopefully everything works out great thanks for all the good advice out yet I'll be talking to you Happy New Year

hey i really like your videos you have some really great tips. With the clutch engaged i moved the bike forward about 2 feet and it locks same thing when i roll it back at the same point it locks again. What do you think I should do about this problem?
Take off clutch cover press clutch unscrew the flower nut a couple of turns release clutch and make sure the the clutch arm is even with the sprocket case
Hey I recently bought a not running 80cc 2 stroke bike, I replaced the carb becuase it was dirty, than i had no spark so i replaced the spark plug cdi box and coil. But when i was in the coil there was rust inside and there was a tiny crack in the bottom of the case right below. Im not sure if thats a problem but i cleaned it all up and now i have good spark and good compresion but my bike still dosent want to run im not sure what i should do next but ive been watching alot of videos and yours was one of them so i just wanted to ask.

Hey there I have what looks like the same engine on my bike and I can't seem to get it started. I just changed the CDI, the spark plug needed changing.. I had it running and I lost the ball bearing in the clutch ever since I replaced that I've had this issue. The bike seems to start but not accelerate or stay idling

What would cause the 2 Stroke 66CC motor to snap a 415 chain? I built one here recently, and on the second outing with it I snapped the chain. I though at first I had popped the master link, only to realize it wasnt the master link that broke but one of the normal links. I was running a Gurbee Motor with a Hybriped hybird pedal sprocket.

So I get 598 from the cdi now when I swap the leads I dont get a reading. Plus I'm gettin 310 from the magneto coil. Do think I should change these? I'm not getting any spark.
That's how the CDI works, you'll get a reading one way and nothing when you swap leads. I try to keep fresh plugs on hand. The "spark" is quite weak and sometimes you cannot see it but you can certainly feel it. I usually #1 check coil (make sure coul backing has a good ground to crankcase), then #2 inspect spark plug wire & cap, #3 swap out plug then #4 swap CDI. Good idea to have spares of all and then if you swap out be sure and label them as good or bad. Sometimes electric components can test "good" and still fail when full voltage is applied. A bad head gasket can also make a no start situation. Good luck

I bought an 80cc yocrazy bike kit. And the the two wires on the cdi one is black and the other one is blue. And also the wires coming out the engine are the same as the one on the cdi except the white wire that is not being used. But the wires on the kill switch are black with a white line. And the other one is green. How do I install it .
One kill switch wire to black/black, (either color) and other to blue/blue and you good

I'm having an issue with my bike where as soon as i let the clutch out it seizes up. I was running the wrong fuel/oil mixture and seized it up but have since replaced the piston, rings, cylinder and added a high performance head and carb. Checked for compression, fuel and tests with my multimeter say it should get spark. I've checked the magneto and it seems fine. I'm not sure what I'm missing. Have any ideas?
Mine locked up when I skipped the oil one day. I took head off and buffed out the damage. Runs again. Need compression, spark, fuel. no compression, check his the rings installed. Btw, 4ounce oil for half gallon tank ratio. I learned that.

When i try to check the ohm reading of the coil i dont get a reading like you are,i have know idea what im doing wrong but i have the same meter you have and a Fluke meter, the only way i get a reading is if i put the red lead to the plug wire,my bike is cutting out from time to time so i bought a new coil and the same thing is happening as far as the reading,i havent installed it yet,but i will anyway,why do you think thats the only way im getting a reading?,i already put a new plug and upgraded carb,it runs,starts fine,just after 20 minutes of ridetime she starts cutting out,missing ?
It's a capacitor. It discharges. Put the leads on and then reverse the leads

I think flying horse sent me the wrong cylinder because my piston keeps hitting my head an not going down I had to put 7 gaskets to get it to go down is there size difference between in the cylinders?

Good afternoon cuz that's what it is where I am, how can you tell if your engine is shot?why I'm asking first time riding first time building my own. I finally got it to the last up to ten minutes but when I get to stoplight I pull the clutch figure it will still idle it shutdown and now I can't get it to start back up. The engine won't even make that Ruff start sound anymore nor any sound for that matter

What would cause lack of power when i tighten the muffler bolt on the bottom of the muffler it looses power when i take the bottom bolt of the muffler of its loud an has power is this a sign of bad compression needs to be re ringed ??
Tuning is probably the issue. Expansion chamber and proper jetting would help
so mine not stayig on it start for a couple of seconds and die at full thotal and also when i pull in the clutch it has compression can some one help

Quick question why are you running a vertical engine quite horizontally?
The frame is on a stand and the front is lower than the rear. You can run that engine upside down. Just need to keep carb right side up and float bowl near level

Hey i opened up where the coil is and there is a bunch of water that came out, didn't smell like gas, very clear. My bike just lost power while cruising, it starts not strong but didn't respond to gas, dies when i put in clutch. Any help is greatly appreciated

@@Konstantinosmo I'm not a fan of shift kits. Extra friction, extra maintenance & more shit to go wrong. I also prefer a manual clutch on the 2 strokers. More control

@@jonny6758 try a fresh spark plug and see if you are getting spark. These engines run fine on 40:1, mixed at 3 1/2 ounces oil to a gallon of gas

Hello Mr. Hughes. I just installed my zeda 80 motor and did my first startup this morning. The bike will not idol at a stop (yes the clutch lever is pressed in). I understand it takes several hundred miles to break in. But the damn thing runs so bad. It only goes about 15 miles per hour before 4 stroking. Its like its suffocating. The choke is pressed all the way down so its getting plenty of air. I did notice when putting the engine together the needle circle thingy is on number 3 from the bottom. Is that my issue??? Should the circle thingy be on 2 or 1 from the bottom??? Please help, im so so so so frustrated.

@@HughesMotorized ty i will be sending pics and a vid shortly. So after watching a few youtube videos what i did was the needle was in the center (forgive my lingo…..the needle on the cable that goes into the carb) was in the dead center. So i moved it up a slot so now the circular ring is 2nd from the top. This helped dramatically. But it wont idle at stop with the clutch lever held in. I have not messed with the SCREW on the carb and im assuming that needs adjustment??? How many turns? Which way do i turn it??? A video said to completely unscrew it and screw it back in 10 to 11 turns and go from there. Ya……i dont get it. Im learning and having fun learning how to work on a small engine with a carb for the first time but this is a head scratcher. I just want the damn thing to idle when i come to a damn stop sign.
@@HughesMotorized and yes the head is torqued down to 9 foot pounds……the carb is in all the way and tightened down good……fuel line is from autozone 3/16 proper black fuel line (not the cheap shit either cuz the one that comes with the kit is a joke of a noodle). The fuel filter is on correctly with the arrow pointed towards the carb. Any more ideas why i have loss of power and not idling at a stop??? Im guessing it has to do with that damn SCREW that adjusts air/gas ratio??? And i also saw your video where it says the stock 70 jet is too much for it to go down to 66-68. Im in El Paso Texas and elevation is over 3000 above sea level and I have super steep hills where i live so i need to get this stupid CARB working correctly. Pls help
@@andrewmena3118 Turn idle screw in (clockwise) a 1/2 a turn and see. I don't mess with getting it to idle while sitting. I simply get the idle close and maintain idle by hand. That is turning back on the throttle to keep engine running. These are cheap, rough running engines. They don't run super smooth

hmm i checked my CDI, the boot, the wire and the magneto and i am getting a reading on all three but still no spark. new plug too. i just cant figure it out

Well first of all when you turn the set screw for setting the idle it try’s to run bit gives up and if you turn the screw all the way In it starts and also throttles it self with out me twisting throttle it’s a chinese carb and not sure what I’m doing wrong I read online that adjusting the clip may help on the 5 notched needle I haven’t even managed to run the engine in properly with this problem

532 Ohms are on the "high side" but still ok? It's very confusing to see other videos say it should be 327 to 345 Ohms. Can you please share why this measurement is still fine?
It's a range, and if it works..... It works. Usually if they fail, the winding is open and you get no reading or they get wet and you have very little resistance
Im doing just about everything you did in this vid for one of my bikes now but cleaning carb just swapping cdi/coil and sparkplug. Also gas tank may need cleaned. But i tried to unscrew the cdi wire just to test it i cant get it to unscrew or pop off. Dont want to break it if its still good. Do they all unscrew like that? Looks 100% the same..
My issue; the bike goes to start and will kind of run if im going down hill but almost no power/speed than on flat road it dies out. At one point going down a big hill it sputtered even a little backfire type pops each pop i felt the power coming back.
1st thoughts was fule. Bike ran great driving in very light rain but no front fender roads was wet and it just died on me power/speed hit a wall and slide down fast.
Oh man i wish where in Georgia my 🚲 motorized bike been siting in garage for for nearly a year brand new put assemble and put together not running 2 stroke 66cc/80cc
Once you learn the basics, you can make these things go. And if you cannot get one to work, get a replacement motor and swap it out

I use generic 2 stroke oil I get at the auto parts place or the hardware store. Cheap and easy to get

Hello fellow biker, is there any maintenance that I need to be aware of with the 4stroke belt system. I can't find anything on the system. And being a danty 240lbs I always peddle to get the bike going, does it even care? I don't want to eat a clutch up. Ride on young man 👍🕶️
I'm in your ballpark weight-wise. you got it. Pedal to get momentum and motor to assist till it takes off. nothing extra to do on belt. just don't run it too tight as it will be hard on bearings. Keep drive chain adjusted, don't over rev and watch for cars is my 2 cents. Enjoy!

Actually the problem was that idk somehow melted a hole dead center of my piston(never seen that before)....i was told overheating. But I only rode bike 15 minutes...some said i was running to lean.. but i own a pk80 Runwell w reed window piston setup,16mm carb

I have the Black Box a few of them at home and I have a few lectric Vibes to turn on the engine but the engine is not turning on its having a little problem I fix the wiring for the bike but I want to find out what can cause the engine to not turn on so this is a good answer for you today in 2019 text me back and it will be a good thing that I will know and show me all the details how to fix the bike because the bike has been collecting dust for a very long time
Might be coil. Just have to sort thru and see. Many different things can cause it not to start

If I’m not using a piece I welded & stuck on a disc brake rim hub, I’m still rocking a shotty rag joint watching everyone complain about their adapters lol
I prefer a properly installed rag joint. I have a bike w/ hub adapter but it has extra thick spokes so no issues

Install and turn engine over slowly. It shouldn't hit the piston at Top Dead Center

Help I replaced everything on my bike spark plug CDI spark plug everything new except for the block and it still won't turn over plenty of spark when a gas is there a timing in the Magneto for that magnet I know it's got to go on straight up and one on the pin did everything just won't start even with starter fluid help
The key on the magnet needs to be at the 1 o clock position when the piston is at Top Dead Center. Sometimes the magnet is off
The magnet is on top and that little wedge is on one I changed my gas changed everything and it just won't start I got one of them good spark plugs everyone talks about I put it on a voltmeter everything checks out I got Excellence Spark I just don't know it just won't kick even with starter fluid

@@williamsheils1550 Sometimes it's easier to simply get another motor and use the junker for spares. I've done that a time or two. Later I was able to sort thru the motors. Good Luck
