Very enjoyable video and great to hear from a real owner on why he purchased one truck over another. I would love to see an owner with a new 3.0L Powerstroke in the future too if possible! :)
I am an owner of the F150 on my 3rd one the last one I had for 20 years and miss it. The F150 even though it can now tow heavier weights it should not be used to do so. I have an F250 6.2 and it out tows my F150 3.5 Ecoboost all day long and is more stable at higher towing speeds. The F150 is just to light to tow in heavy winds and on winding roads and in the mountains. same boat on the F150 and the F250 and I regret getting the F150 even though it can tow 9600 LBS and the F250 can tow 11500 LBS would have gotten the Diesel instead of the gas engine. Just my 2 cents

He got it for just above cost which is about 10 to 15k less than stocker price. Best time to buy from dealerships is right at the end of a fiscal year. They want those sales to be higher for given period as well
Whether you choose a Ford, a Chevy, a RAM or GMC pickup -- they're ALL great vehicles and are a bargain for what you get -- towing capacity, utility, comfort, safety, efficiency, and rock solid durability that cannot be matched by any other vehicles of any sort on the market.
Bright man. I'm glad to see someone who actually put some thought into his purchase and didn't just flip from a 3 year old model and go under in value on debt. Sounds like he drove that older 99 f250 into the dirt, got every penny out of it, probably maintained it himself and then even when buying new again only paid what he had to for the specific needs he had. Great work! I bought my 2015 f150 brand new as an XLT model and now have it full paid off, but i'm not going to flip it. I'm now going to focus on maintenance and keeping it alive as long as possible while doing some personalizing mods along the way.
Honestly this guy's opinion doesn't mean much to me after saying he didn't like the 7.3 cause it was too loud. I'm not even a Ford guy and even I know the 7.3 is one of the best diesels to be put in a pickup truck.
You think that isn't a valid point he is making about it being too loud? For long trips a quieter ride is nice especially if you don't need the 7.3 that just ends up costing more.
Some of us are Ford guys, some Chevy, some RAM, Toyota, Nissan, we’ll argue all day what’s best, but in the end we’re truck folks and this guy is an example of pretty good man! Great interview enjoyed it, nice TRUCK!!’ Being a lowly XL owner, not frugal just poor, upidy XLT owners with your heated seats and chrome!!! My STX means Shit Trucks Xpensive,,,,,,sorry about the cuss word.
ive only owned XLs...just like he said in the video, you can option them up pretty cheaply since its a base model. as far as I know, the only thing I dont have that an XLT does is heated seats and the 110 outlet, and I got it for easily 10k less than a typical XLT
@@SketchyXC the only way most working folks can do it is to have bought one 20 years ago when the cost was reasonable, and kept trading up. theres no way in the world I could buy even a 2wd super duty if I didnt have trade ins...the market go hijacked by rich people
@@johndoe-bk3de Yup. the big three make their largest profit margins from pick ups. $90k for a new truck with electronics that are bound to fail and emissions controls that choke the hell out of the engine and also fail...uhhh, no thanks, I'll stick with my bought new 01 7.3. No DEF, EGR, not even a cat to worry about.
By no means does having an STX trim level make you poor. It's still a 45k truck and where I'm from that puts you in middle class territory. I drive a ram Express which is the equivalent to the STX f150. Sells for around the same price. It has everything I need and nothing I don't.
Hey I drove them all too and I bought a Ram 2500 Diesel. I guess I kinda understand what he means by turbo lag but the Cummins is a totally different animal. It doesn't act like the other two. And I didnt buy a diesel to race it. I bought it to tow. And it tows like a freight train baby! And I got 3.73 gears standard. Very happy about that. Im sure he would have liked the 3.73's since he went 3.55's and his only other option was 3.31's. And Im a Ford guy! I was orginally only considering a new F250 until I drove the Ram. Then I was like ok maybe Ill consider another manufacturer. And hey all the little things he complained about not having like the leather stearing wheel and dampened tailgate... all come standard on the Ram Big Horn addition. And no issues with hooking up safety chains. Ram did it right. Rams big horn is their level 2 package just like Fords XLT. O and no matter how much you outfit a truck level 2 package it doesn't come close to a Laramie or Fords Lariat. You jump a fence between a level 2/3 package. I would make the argument that you could outfit a level 3 package (Laramie/Lariat) close to a level 4/5 and you could outfit a level 1 (XL/Tradesman) to be closer too a level 2.
@OGL iaDL No you don't. The 2500 gets only the 68RFE and the lower rated 6.7, while the 3500 gets either the same 68RFE + 6.7 or the full output 6.7 hooked up to the Aisin for some extra cash. It's been that way since forever. You don't get the Aisin with the 2500 suspension. And the 68RFE is just fine if you don't drive like a maniac. It's not there for you to tow, not hoon; that kind of behaviour will wreck a AS69RC before long, no difference. It just won't last forever like the Aisin, but when the time comes eventually to replace the 68RFE, it's got one major advantage over the AS69RC in that you can opt for a built 68RFE instead, which will walk all over any Aisin you can get your hands on.
I got a 2011 ford f250 6.2 and only problems I've had are common car problems that could happen to any car. Had a few flat tires and one of my wheel weights fell off. Over 110k miles and just fluid changes so far. Been good so far! That's a nice truck though! Lots more power.
The ram had lag?? I’ve always felt like the Cummins straight 6 always had a quicker big hit of torque than the V8 diesels. I’ve spent a lot of time in a Duramax hauling cattle. The V8 really shines when climbing a grade at 80mph and maintaining speed. The 6 felt like it had more getting up and going power but won’t run a load of cows 80mph up a hill. I like them both! But V8 feels more laggy to me when getting started but has better high speed power
I'm seeing a lot of "how much did he pay for it." "Must have paid sticker" speculation. I'm not sure many people understand how a dealer buys a vehicle. The vehicles on the dealer lot are not owned by the dealer. In the case of the dealer I bought from - they had about $30M in vehicles in stock. Dealers can't afford that kind of money, so the vehicles are owned by a floor plan (finance) company. The longer the unit sits on the lot, the more the dealer has to sell the vehicle for to offset the floor plan charges. If you order a truck, the floor plan charge is essentially $0 as it is a pre-sold vehicle. I own a 2019 F350, dually, crew cab. The sticker on the vehicle was right at $86K. I paid $75.3K including tax (about $1200), title, and license fees. My buying price was $200 over the dealer invoice price. However, that is NOT what they paid for the vehicle as the dealer gets "holdback" - about 3% of the MSRP from the manufacturer, and then what ever additional incentives and dealer discounts, volume pricing, etc. are available from the manufacturer. At a minimum the dealer made: $2580 (hold back) + $200 + ???? (other incentives) for spending about 2 hours with me when I ordered the truck and covering their overhead costs. When you deduct overhead and other sales costs, the dealer probably netted about $1500 profit on a $74.1K sale or 2% (plus additional monies from manufacturer to dealer incentives). Dealers make more from the service department and on used vehicles than on a new vehicle.
I love this video, finally a real truck that gets naught and built exactly for what it’s used for, nothing against the higher trim models but they are getting outrageously expensive!!!
This was a great video. Love to see a guy that takes this much pride in his vehicle and is actually very knowledgeable on the vehicle. Compared to most of these young bucks that have no idea what any of the specs are.
Really good video. I work for a Ford dealership, and really like the Super Duty truck line. But i will not buy one until they figure out their horrible death wobble issues. A very huge safety concern!
Mine happened on the freeway doing 70 mph at 3 am in another state 400 miles from home, pulling a car hauler with my daughter in the truck. Thought we were going to die.we limped into a ford dealership and slept in the truck until they open. only to be told its not a problem and they won't fix it.
The wobble he refrences at 7:19 was the only reason i traded my 2017 f250. It unfortunately happened too often & the trips to the dealer solved nothing. I traded it in for a chevy 2500 & although I love the ride on my new truck, I miss the body style of my ford. Its like settling down with a nice woman but still missing that sexy looking head turner that treated you like crap lol.
I don't know much about trucks but as a 20 year old electrician I kinda have an idea about all those little bells and trinkets. The automatic windows and heated seats, and the cameras are all great things to have but common sense tells me that some of that stuff will go bad in 5-7 years. The backup camera is nice only for hooking up a trailer(I turn my head when I back up.) I assume trucks don't resell very well when a camera is out and one window no longer extends/retracts.
@@billelt9308 I applaude you for doing that. Too many Americans are really globalists. They step over American products to buy foreign, yet want to live in America. Sad
We have f350 diesel crew cabs with cranes and reading boxes at work. I haven't seen 1 that has gone over 10k miles without going back to ford for repairs. Several complete engines blown and Tons of egr and regen issues. My 6.0 excursion looks bulletproof compared to these new diesel engines
The 6.0 is good just fix the nagging issues like the EGR and do the regular maintenance your good to go. I'm going to eventually sell off my 6.0 only gets 12.5 mpg its F350 crew cab srw 4x4 I've owned the truck for 7 years. Diesel fuel in Western Canada is 5.32 a US gallon Canadian. Do an oil change myself using motor craft filters and Rotella T6 is 400 dollars. The company truck I drive is a 2013 F-350 crew cab 4x4 dually 6.2 powered gets the fuel mileage, maintenance is cheap. I'm going with a 6.2 gas truck no questions asked.
Love these “Dude I love or hate my ride” but I don’t recall ever having a guest who hated their ride, so why the title? I would be great to hear from bad experiences too
Dan the Man Dan the Man then maybe the segment should be renamed? That’s my initial point, if all of these videos are called “dude I love or hate my ride” and all the thumbnails have “love or hate” but we only see the ones that love their vehicles, then why call it the way it is? I would like to see owners who don’t love their vehicles and explain why, they bring as much of a valued opinion and feedback to the community as the ones who state they love their ride
how about I like my ride? I've owned MOPAR since 90 and my current truck is a F350 DRW. Nice truck, but has it's issues. If Ram would have had a truck that could pull what I needed at the time, I would have bought another Ram in a heartbeat, even with all the recalls.
Classic old man truck review. Should make a disclaimer about allowing the purchase price to be a part of the review, people really like to know what real world prices are. It is one of the most important parts of buying a vehicle, cost.
I agree. Perhaps TFL would consider establishing price disclosure as a ground rule before even making the video. But then again, even though the owner balked at stating the price he paid, many other aspects of the interview were worthwhile, so perhaps that's how TFL weighs it all out when they produce a video.
in my experience, RAM isn't the best chassis, but with some mods, IT IS. There is NOTHING easy about working on a PowerStroke. Cummins however, is. And Cummins is ALWAYS making improvements to maintenance items to make them better. Ford def. does RIDE BETTER hands down. Ford should have let Cummins put their name on the valve covers back in the 80's and Ford would OWN the truck industry, and everyone else would be selling compact cars instead!! Wait.....did I just hear him say they have wobble? LIKE Dodge "death wobble"? wow...... what irony. Great review though, good to see a REAL WORLD guy give his 2 cents!
Over MSRP true but I almost don’t think that’s valid, I mean a normal functioning vehicle. Anyone would hate a lemon. But good response :) I’ll look it up
It's a shill site. They don't want to broadcast bad news as they might lose their seat at the table. It would be nice to have a car channel that was like Paul Harrell. No non-sense straight shooting. Most of motojournalism is pollyannish. It hasn't always been that way. That said, if you want honesty with cars on you tube, check out Scotty Kilmer. I don't always agree with him, but he's not a shill.
These owner reviews are great; real world information from folks that made the big ticket purchase as opposed to a 1 hour test drive impression, keep them up!
I drive mine every single day and it’s the best truck I’ve EVER had. Towing is much easier with an f350. This truck has tons of power, great pedal response and many other positive features. I do not like shocks. Rough ride, and the back tends to slip out when pavement is wet. Spins tires easily when it’s wet. Fun truck to have on a nice sunny summer day.
I choose a 19 Cummins for these reasons: better value (I got a $12,000 discount), MEGACAB I have a family of 6 and need ever square inch possible, Cummins is superior for towing and mpg...my fords were money pits after 130k miles, Adaptive Cruise Control, awesome interior and the 12” LCD, and lastly the coil spring rear end which provides the best ride and performance to make this into an over landing Mega-Raptor.
Brian Lampright - I own a dually Ram. Great engine. I love the 2 setting engine brake. I do wish Ram built the quality of truck my engine deserves.....
Three reasons that I did not buy a Ford F-250 Diesel. 1. The cab has to be removed to complete most repairs maintenance and service 2. The horrible rough ride 3. No options for suspension in the rear like Ram 2500 with coil and 4 link for super nice touring. Got a 2019 Ram 2500 6.4 long bed 4x4 Laramie loaded leather sun roof - HK 17 speaker 750 watt stereo - power everything after discounts $54,000. Brand new.
I have experience with both Ford diesel and RAM diesel. I tow horses a few times a year 2k miles round trip. The ram gives 11.6 mpg/ford 8.2 towing and 26/22 respectively empty. Ram serviceability and repairs are way easier. You get way better interior on the ram for less money too.
Red Nexican telling you to educate yourself so you stop spreading lies, equates to being "triggered"??? Bwahahahahaha 🤣🤣 you're definitely a special kind of stupid!
Don’t buy the new 2020 gmc diesel if you snow Plow. I bought a 3500 denali with snow Plow prep. The first time plowing I get a check engine light apparently the slow Plow blocks so air flow sensor and turns on the light which puts it in a limp mode which enables possibly the lower but also the remote starter. So now I have a diesel in winter I can’t remote start. Also I had to take off the tailgate to put in a salter. GM doesn’t have any plugs like the used to to block off the power tailgate wires and the back up camera wires. So I had to tape them so they don’t corrode with the salt here. The big kicker is because I unplugged these which is common on a Plow truck the entire camera system now doesn’t work. These are 2 things I bought the Denali for. Gm can’t and won’t fix either issue and I have a fleet of trucks from Gm. Looks like I’ll have to go to ford.
Have you considered picking up a spare backup camera and leaving it connected so the camera system functions? I have replaced the one in my Ram and you can find them for as low as $20 if you look. The system sees a fault and it notifies you by disabling the entire system. If you have a "load" there it should work again.
Leonard Rice am I. I’m in my truck 20 hrs at a time so comfort is key. I can easily afford to as we have lots of big contracts so money isn’t an issue and besides they get oil sprayed and traded back in for top dollar every 4 years. It has snow Plow prep on it so it’s for plowing. Get your game up and you can have one too don’t hate on me because I can. That is such a loser thing for you to say Lmao. I guess we all can’t be Alpha males.
MrDavidelliottjr with all the emissions crap on the diesel I’d be surprised if it could last half as long as the 7.3. Take that stuff off and it might be a different story.
Yeah let’s remember that the 7.3 is, I believe, a true replacement to the 6.8 V10. That means it’s designed with medium duty in mind, be it commercial trucks, semi large RVs etc. I think in a 3/4 ton truck application it will shine really well.
I had the death wobble at 36k miles on my F250. The cheapo fix for the wobble is a new steering dampener. There is a technical service bulletin out from Ford that lists the parts needed to actually fix it though. I had to buy big D rings for my towing setup too. Ford screwed that up
One easy way I learned from owning about 20 different Fords with the death wobble, if you align the truck, go about half inch toe out in the front it completely solve the problem.
My Brother a Die-Hard Chevy guy, Dumped his 2014 Duramax for the 2020 Superduty, Had issues with allison transmission, will down shift his 11000 lbs trailer, no help from chevy dealer, With the super Duty he has a new 16000 trailer , He cant even tell the difference when going uphill, Man Loves his super Duty
The wobble is due to insufficient castor and camber adjustment. Ford did not design in enough adjustability on the front axel 4wd models. The fix is available aftermarket.
Tommy Truth ive witnessed REAL mechanics laugh at scotty kilmer video’s, not because hes funny, but because he doesn’t know what hes talking about... but people like you love him smh
First "mod" I did to mine was sealing up all those gaps around the bed with some color matched polyurethane caulking on the left and right side. Much better now.
I had a v10 with 4.33 gears and it was great and really was impressive, I still kind of miss her just wished she got better mpgs, but I wanted diesel so I got rid of it and got a 7.3.
It's impolite to ask about money or how much you spent on something to people of his (and my) generation. We are not of the social media generation where your private life is fodder for everyone to comment on, especially finances.
If I am recalling correctly both the Cummins and Duramax trucks come with the auxiliary heater as standard, on every trim. Ford it is something you have to option.
The problem is, while I agree the Chinese lights are cheap and mostly crap, anything american made is grossly over priced. I've like to see an american company step up and make a good light for a cheaper price point. I do and would expect to pay more for something made in the US, however companies like Rigid seem like highway robbery to me.
I did the same thing. Test drove all 3 and choose the GMC Sierra 2500 Denali with the Duramax/Allsion combo. It rode like a cadillac compared to the Ford and Ram and man it is quick!
Price is one of the biggest details with a new truck & grandpa can’t say what he paid? Should’ve just told him to go home & get another guy. That ruined the video.
Nice truck. I’ve always wanted a 3/4 ton. But I’m not wanting another diesel these days. 10.5 towing is good. XLT is a smart choice I think. Me? My F150 is a Platinum. I ain’t smart. But all those dagnabbed luxuries kind of spoil a man.
Nowadays all 3 make good trucks it’s a matter of preference. But a true diesel is a inline 6 period. he’s referring to the lag it’s because the Cummins on the ram it’s a pulling truck not fast on the get go but boy when your towing with a 5500 dump truck and pulling 20k that inline beats the V8.
This guy reminds me of my dad a bit. He just bought a new 3.5EB F-150, also XLT, also has some minor touches customized for him. I've been driving it all over the place in the snow recently, fun truck. Was worried that the 10spd would constantly be searching for the next gear, and there is a little of that, but it's not too bad. Regarding this guy's truck, I'm so infatuated with the Tremors right now that any other Super Duty seems a little pedestrian!
I’d love to know how these 6.7 diesels hold up over the long term. I’ve heard diesel repairs are very pricey. The 7.3 is $10k cheaper and I would guess more reliable, while not having nearly the grunt.
@BL Dontmatter I disagree. I've owned nearly 50 vehicles, and you can often determine build quality within 2 years. Definitely within 10. My 6-year-old AMG G63 already has issues that no 6-year-old Toyota would have, for example.
Have yall done a 5.3 vs 6.2 chevy silverado test with towing and mpg and drag race? If not will yall ever? Yall should do the drag race with 5.3, 6.2 chevy and 2.7, 3.5, and 5.0 f150 also the ram v6 and v8 models that would be awesome.
Know a guy who’s been a GM guy his whole life. Wanted a Sierra 2500 but the price was outrageous. He winded up getting a f250 with everything the gmc had and paid a lot less.
I also live in Colorado. That's why I really like these videos. I need a three quarter ton truck. Gas or diesel? I've towed with the both. I thought the gas did ok. My trailer is almost a 1000 lbs heavier. I really don't want to pay $10000 for a daily commute truck and tow only in the summer. I do love the diesel power.
I bet it was defueling for the transmission. Ram can't build/buy a transmission to put behind the cummin to save their life. Plus the low end torque has a different feel to it from a V8 diesel. My ram feels slow l, but when I'm pulling a trailer the low rpm torque is amazing. And will climb a hill without having to rev it to the moon.
charld mine was great. Only real issue I had was squealing breaks and the fender flairs kept coming off (2016 mega cab limited). All the other issues I was having, were caused by the dumbass dealer.
Damien Martelli never really had any issues with my trucks (My 13 Laramie was a POS, mainly due to shaking issues and my current 19 longhorn has a lot of issues). However, they never left me on the side of the road like my POS f150 fx4 2.7 crew cab xlt did. My 3 worst vehicles ever... 1. 2002 Chevy Malibu. 2. 2015 f150. 3. 2018 4runner limited.
You can tell it got a little awkward for a little bit when the man didn’t disclose the price. It would be nice to see a video on someone who isn’t truly happy with their purchase. Could save other buyers if seeing someone has a bad purchase or regrets it. They’re all happy, defeats the point of the segment name.
Well, dunno why you have to point out why the owner is "old" but he cited the turbo lag, nothing to do with the power/durability/reputation of the motor. Maybe he's foolish to consider turbo lag so high up on his checklist, but that's just him.
This I like I'm liking these real world owner reviews not from dealership salesman or or manufacturer reviews great work TFL hope to see more Real reviews from real world owners ✌
I own a dodge 3500. Ive had three. the last one I had blew a transmission at 40k. The only reason I got another dodge is because they gave me the most for my trade in. I think Ford s better though. Reasons- Transmissions are better, look better, easier to service powerstroke than cummins, and better safety features.
I always said if Cummins was mated to a manual transmission then dog would have something !! Dog is still looking for an automatic transmission !! Like I always said u can't spell Dodge without DOG !!
I have a 2018 super duty diesel and i went with leds from headlight revaluation they work great and the youtube video how to in stall worked out great. great trucks .
@MegaFishguts Large discounts is common on these large diesel trucks, 10-13K is not uncommon. Depends a lot on the dealership and their buying power too. Small dealerships cannnot buy below invoice as a big dealership buying big amounts of same vehicle can.
The F150 is just to light to tow in heavy winds and on winding roads and in the mountains. same boat on the F150 and the F250 and I regret getting the F150 even though it can tow 9600 LBS and the F250 can tow 11500 LBS would have gotten the Diesel instead of the gas engine. ya all the frugal people i know are buying 60k trucks
I agree with him, no need for leather, I've had that b4, and its cold in winter and hella hot in summer.
Agreed. Diesel is loud. Be proud
@@Prima10ne the new 7.3 is a gas motor not a diesel.
Thanks Ron for the information. I like hearing from the owner what you think.
Andrei, you’re great at these interviews and incredibly knowledgeable- nice work.
I could tell that man was pretty well-versed in trucks. You also asked some good questions of him and I always enjoy your take on different trucks.
Im impressed anyone can afford a new truck these days. Im struggling to keep up in the used truck lot...lol
You made the right choice. The Duramax/Powestroke are more peppy and take off better, but the Cummins is slow and steady.
The 68rfe scares me off from rams, sadly Aisins and G56s seem impossible to find.
The Cummins is set up for low end torque with the straight 6 setup, which is why for serious towing it’s a good choice.
@@vr4787 the cummins is fantastic, I just can't understand why they can't put a transmission behind it that will take the abuse like the fords can.
Great vid from a real guy that uses his truck thanks
I got a 2011 ford f250 6.2 and only problems I've had are common car problems that could happen to any car. Had a few flat tires and one of my wheel weights fell off. Over 110k miles and just fluid changes so far. Been good so far! That's a nice truck though! Lots more power.
keshmo12 Heard nothing but good things about the 6.2 motor.
Great truck! I love this guy. Looks up the prices of add ons and does it himself. Awesome.
I agree I watch every video, we got a 96 Bronco and 18 Ford F150 5.0 Lariat in our driveway and I always enjoy TFL informative Truck vids.
I’ve heard of GM trucks doing this too they call it the Chevy shake
great description a guy can relate to ;)
All three brands have death wobble in their solid front axle trucks but ford is the worst. JUNK
Bring back the twin I-beam front suspension, problem solved...
@@vorant77 that was a horrible suspension. Numb, horrid steering feel, way to much motion, unreliable af.
Hey Andre I would like if you come to Michigan and come do an overview in my dads truck like you did in this video
Email us about it at ask@tfltruck.com Perhaps, we can carve out some time for this next time we are near Detroit.
Very nice. I like all 3 brands. You never have to apologize for buying American. Great idea for lights.

Love these “Dude I love or hate my ride” but I don’t recall ever having a guest who hated their ride, so why the title? I would be great to hear from bad experiences too
Who wants to come on and admit screwing up? Confirmation bias is a given on these types of videos.
Wish I could have done one on my GTI but its totaled now
how about I like my ride?
I honestly have never ridden in a coil rear Dodge. So I wouldn't know.
@HalfShell You can't get coils on the 2500, it's only available on the 1500
2015 and up ram 2500 are rear coil suspension

When does the owner hate their vehicle? Don’t recall that happening on tfl.
They hate it when the warranty is up. Nobody does reviews on high milage vehicles though. No shill money in it.
The ford raptor is one I can remember. He bought a lemon. Search it

Ron don't worry it should be reliable for at least 20k miles
Yes after it turns 400,000 miles
Cliff Morgan the 19 so far is a big leap forward in quality from what I can tell so far, the gap between Ford and RAM has shrunk considerably IMO
Is the RAM infotainment Android based? Has anyone rooted it yet?
The Man my 16 mega cab limited had them!
Brand new.
Ram 4570 now that Ram has paired the 6.4 with the eight speed trans that will be my next truck.
Ram 4570 Think cab removal was only on the 6.4 diesel.
MaucTopa 1337 the ram is made in Mexico and not union made. I’ll pass
Red Nexican maybe you should go look Inside a 2019 Ram, Ford is the one with the old outdated interior.

What are you using a new truck to plow that’s what an old beater if for.
Have you considered picking up a spare backup camera and leaving it connected so the camera system functions? I have replaced the one in my Ram and you can find them for as low as $20 if you look. The system sees a fault and it notifies you by disabling the entire system. If you have a "load" there it should work again.
Ricky Bobby reliability a beater will break down we have huge contracts. Plus Money isn’t an issue
rob the elder yes and so have Gm. It doesn’t work They can’t fix the issue.
I guess we all can’t be Alpha males.
can't wait to see how the new 7.3 gas engine does
I wish it was a diesel
Its easy to guess. Not as well as the deisel and not as good on fuel and not last as long. The option is just cheaper. Thats all
MrDavidelliottjr hmmmm.. I bash Ford every chance I get and to be honest, that 7.3 looks very promising.
I have a 2019 had the death wobble they changed the dampener it made it better but still had small issue then change end rods and that fixed it

The wobble is due to insufficient castor and camber adjustment.

Those Amazon sourced Chinese front lights will last one winter season. 😁
Remember he's frugal...
The problem is, while I agree the Chinese lights are cheap and mostly crap, anything american made is grossly over priced. I've like to see an american company step up and make a good light for a cheaper price point. I do and would expect to pay more for something made in the US, however companies like Rigid seem like highway robbery to me.

Nice truck. I’ve always wanted a 3/4 ton. But I’m not wanting another diesel these days. 10.5 towing is good. XLT is a smart choice I think. Me? My F150 is a Platinum. I ain’t smart. But all those dagnabbed luxuries kind of spoil a man.

A sweet man with his awesome Superduty pickup truck. The interview went great❤.
This was good. Good to hear an honest opinion. I like this guys way of thinking.
Frugal: You Keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means
Prudent in spending is one of the definitions of the word frugal, so that seems to match what the owner claimed to a T.
Greg Weik They’re reliable overall. Look it up.
@Robby Dey Well I bought an f250 diesel tremor platinum a year ago and so far it’s pretty impressive.
@BL Dontmatter Two years in now, still no issues. Not all new vehicles are problem free..
@BL Dontmatter I disagree. I've owned nearly 50 vehicles, and you can often determine build quality within 2 years. Definitely within 10. My 6-year-old AMG G63 already has issues that no 6-year-old Toyota would have, for example.
This is why i watch these videos! That light bar tip was great! Thanks Ron!

Just a beautiful truck. Works so well. So much tourque
haha shackles on the tow hook mounts just like mine. None of my trailer hooks will snap on to the hitch, ugh! What was Ford thinking??
I also live in Colorado. That's why I really like these videos. I need a three quarter ton truck. Gas or diesel? I've towed with the both. I thought the gas did ok. My trailer is almost a 1000 lbs heavier. I really don't want to pay $10000 for a daily commute truck and tow only in the summer. I do love the diesel power.
diesel lag?? i love _get up and go_ in my truck too, but was the ram that bad?
No, it's not!
The steering wobble he mentioned. There is a TSB to replace the steering damper. They are back ordered but they are available.
Ram got eliminated first? Should have known, he has Rough Country on his truck. I wouldnt expect him to know what quality is anyways
i hope they get someone with a Ram 2500
I have a feeling he's a hypocrite. Says hes frugal like 20 times but yet buys brand new tells us all he put into it but won't say the cost.
nobody is going to trust a fiat built vehicle... and if you are dumb enough to spend that much money on one then god bless ya
charld mine was great.
Ron: Didn't get the Ram cause of the motor.
Ram: Has the best motor in the biz.
Well, dunno why you have to point out why the owner is "old" but he cited the turbo lag, nothing to do with the power/durability/reputation of the motor. Maybe he's foolish to consider turbo lag so high up on his checklist, but that's just him.
I think you Roman and Nathan should do a show on your own personal vehicles. All 3 of you bring your vehicle and do a full in depth tour
It is the only choice when looking for a 3/4 or even a 1 ton pickup. Good choice on him. I'm not a Ford guy either.
Did you just say easier to service and better transmission???? Bwahahahahaha 🤣🤣🤦♂️
I agree with all your points excluding the servicing. :)
John Doe - you gonna troll every comment that doesn’t praise Ram? There’s always a troll out there, fanboi.
GT500 says the Ford fanboi who can't handle the truth about his beloved Ford WHO WENT AND BOUGHT A RAM! 🤣
I always said if Cummins was mated to a manual transmission then dog would have something !! Dog is still looking for an automatic transmission !! Like I always said u can't spell Dodge without DOG !!
This is great, it’s helping me decide what trim level to go with.
Wait til that 6.7 drops a glow plug. He won't be smiling with a 17000 dollar engine replacement
I have a 2018 super duty diesel and i went with leds from headlight revaluation they work great and the youtube video how to in stall worked out great. great trucks .
This is a great platform for truck/car reviews. Nice Job!
We're going to have somebody that hates the ride
Someone who is frugal does not order a vehicle custom from the dealer. That is literally the most expensive way to buy a vehicle...
Oldfart didn't want 2 say what he paid fot his truck that's a big part of why people watch
What he paid for the truck is nobody's damned business.
@MegaFishguts Large discounts is common on these large diesel trucks, 10-13K is not uncommon. Depends a lot on the dealership and their buying power too. Small dealerships cannnot buy below invoice as a big dealership buying big amounts of same vehicle can.
