What a unique, special, talented band. I feel blessed I got to see them live twice when they reformed. Brown, Squire, Mani and Reni are the definitive Roses line up and in my eyes are all irreplaceable in that band. There's something magical and endearing when those 4 play music together. Most bands can change a guitarist or a bassist or a drummer without any difference but take any one of them out of the roses and replace them with someone else and they would never be the same. Legends. They had it all, the musicianship, the image, the songs, the adoring fans and the swagger and even at 50 years old when they reformed they still had that magic.
The young woman interviewing Ian Brown died in a car crash back in 2002 or 001 can anyone remember her name, I always remember her interviewing Mani when the scream played homelands Ireland and Mani so loved up and nice to her ,always stuck with me RIP
I remember hearing about her death, it was so sad, I used to watch her late night music show on TV and was always struck by how pleasant she was. A real loss to the Irish music scene. I remember this Ian Brown interview annoying me back then as I felt he was being rude to her 😅
@@Mrpublicimagelimited From what I recall there was a rail strike on at the time so she made her way down to a gig in Cork in a car with a producer. On the way home a lorry collided into their car and she was killed at the scene. It was back in November 2000. Her name was Uaneen Fitzsimons and she was only 29. She was an absolute natural on television and on radio. A terribly sad and painful loss to those who knew her personally and for those who didn't.
Met mani in 99 on the Ramblas in Barcelona night before Utd won the treble. I watched him break up a fight between his mate and a German swapping shirts with the German. Got a photo top bloke felt like his best mate.

Uaneen Fitzsimons
Uaneen.. I cried when I heard about her death. So untimely and utterly, brutally unfair.

Good lads these…
Not seen before. Good stuff. Thanks.
Love Ian Brown! Really calls a spade a spade :)
I like john's hair
Love mani ,you know he's a cheeky little scamp
Mani always reminds me of a cheeky Andy Serkis from Lord of the Rings.
The girl who interviewed Ian Brown died in a car crash that year rRIP
Never seen that footage of Mr. Brown before. Mani is a dude in this clip also.
All the negative stuff is very well documented, they just seem to get a kick out of hearing it over and over again.
A northern English, collective, music for the masses, lucky Boro FC

John Squire with that bloody Myra Hindley haircut
Why is the clip with John Squire in here? He is next to Chris Helme, so he is obviously on about Seahorses
😊
