dont know if you guys cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last days =)
For those who are all over Reni you should keep in mind he's saying that we may look like the Stone Roses, we may even sound like the Stone Roses but we're not those guys; 'we pushing 50'. I'm please as punch they're tring again but come on, give them a break. I'm thrilled that Ian and jonny are not just speaking they're writing music again. If you were there the first time around then this is wonderful news. The band playing together again is great to.
totally right, Reni's drumming is sublime and it's maybe the key no, the key is that it's all sublime and it all fits perfectly, but the drumming is definitely a big part of the magic I was at Feille 95, best gig i ever went to
2:20 Millionaire pop star discovers his glass is chipped, asks for a fresh one and then carefully decants the water back into the bottle so as not to waste. This is why I loved 'em from the beginning.
@6:10 when Mani calls Feile 95 the best show (after Glasgow Green) that the Roses ever played - you can see the "you fucking what??" look that Reni fixes him with. N.B. Reni was out of the band by then
This was a proper reunion, a band that released a seminal album and implided before most could ever see them. The Oasis thing is a pure money grab, they were on their arse when they split. And at no point had they the talent or charisma of this 4. Pathetic.
Reni is a class drummer, everyone in that band plays their part well. Reni's drumming actually makes some of theirs songs e.g. i am the resurrection, fools gold, elephant stone, begging you
Remi an average drummer???? fucking hell love the internet. some untoward bollox spouted 4 absolute scallywags. brilliant band. still such a great groove to their music. dublin was a great gig
I was at the last gig down the front row and you could just tell they had tension between all of them. Mani looked really sad out of the rest, they all knew it was over that night (but nobody in that crowd did) lucky to have been at their final show but it wasn't too great Ian's vocals were awful at times he was conpletley off key during She Bangs the Drums. I very much doubt that they'll ever return and if they did I wouldn't even bother going to see them. A band that first inspired me to pick up a guitar and form a band of my own a band that made me be able to dream at 15 years old.
Agreed. I am a Roses fan, they're in my top 3. It's fair to say they were amazing and they could have achieved greatness BUT they just didn't quite make it. They don't have to come back to try and prove anything. It's just good to have the Roses back. A few gigs and new albums would be great, we don't have to expect them to take over the world, just give us a Stone Roses to enjoy of which we have been deprived for so long.
Terrific band,Brown can’t sing but it doesn’t really matter. Saw them in 88and89 in Paris,Blackpool,London. Spike Island was shit but glad I was there. The Heaton Park Friday and Saturday were top nights
at the time I thought this was a great and positive press conference but rewatching it there's a lot of cringeworthy moments and a few personality clashes so it's not surprising in hindsight that they split up again after doing the re-union tour. I don't agree with the commenters dissing Reni though. I think it's hilarious the way Reni keeps praising U2 partially to get a rise out of Ian, but I don't think he's lying about being influenced by Larry Mullen. Reni is a great drummer, far as I'm concerned one of the best.
I agree the jab is unwarranted. That being said The Stone Roses debut album is as good as any of the best U2 albums and The Second Coming is masterpiece. Saying it SUCKS is an extremely foolish thing to say and makes me think you never gave it a proper listen or just believe what the critics say.
The hoodwinked you all, promised greatness and took the money and ran after two pathetic singles and lets be honest-a handful of average at best shows. Next up…Oasis! 🤦♂️
John Squire, a man of many words
More a wordsmith than a sublime guitarist for sure.
But God can he play
The miserable bastard
@@Harvester236 What are you talking about, Harvester? Squire's guitarwork is sublime on many tracks e.g. Bye Bye Badman, Breaking in to Heaven.
@@Picnicl Figured out he was being sarcastic yet?
Mani always sounds on the cusp of developing emphysema.
Saw them live on Wednesday in Warrington's Parr Hall, best night of my life without a shadow of a doubt.
The band is from warrington
Reni is one miserable, negative bloke, can see how Mani is cringing at half the stuff he says!
dont know if you guys cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last days =)
@Braden Emmanuel yea, I have been using instaflixxer for since december myself =)
Yea proper ,but he can drum
Agreed, he was my favourite back in the day but has turned into a real negative bloke.
That’s just sarcastic British humour
Re-watching this interview you could see reni wasn't in it from the start, why he decided to turn up god knows he was negative from the word go.
Extremely negative
$$$$
I think for the most part he's taking the piss
When you get older, you cba. You don't have the same energy. He just saw the risks. Like he said drumming is hard and most stop younger.
Don't agree, I think he was a bit sceptical but he's been vindicated tbh. IT was good while it lasted.
5:30 to 5:52 tell us how you really feel Reni. Holy crap.
Ian with the 'alright...' at the end of it haha
@@ainsbass 'Alright' to Mani
John just sits there and only talks when spoken too. Haha
Ian loves the water 😂😂
Anyone else just watching Ian playing with water?..
Moi
Richard William Same here. Lazy fuckin band. Pity. Brilliant potential.
Anything to avoid the mega cringe of reni!!
Still waiting for that new album!...
It's fucking HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 singles...rest of album coming soon!
Update: It's been 4 years since this comment and it still hasn't been released.
@Jim Newcombe disagree
Still waiting for that album....2 songs just wasn't enough
@@justint9517 Especially when those two songs were rubbish. I guess we'll have to wait a few more years

It's because he doesn't like fizzy water
Just saw them live in Dubai - they most definitely still have got it in them!
@6:10 when Mani calls Feile 95 the best show (after Glasgow Green) that the Roses ever played - you can see the "you fucking what??" look that Reni fixes him with.
N.B. Reni was out of the band by then
Thx for that I had not catched that
What a missed opportunity.
I've watched the whole interview over and over again and it gets more and more awkward every time..
100%
A lot of it comes down to Reni.
@@elbo7755 at least 95% of it
It's awkward innit, Reni is just not buying what the others are drinking, as for Squire, who knows what he's thinking.
12 years! ...kids were born and started secondary school in that time ..
A great moment in time when they played Auckland on the 26th Feb, Rene has still got it, he was on fire!! thanks lads.
When i watched live at blackpool 1989 dvd a was most impressed with reni s drumming a fair wanted 2 be that guy up there with them guys on stage
John not saying a word man quite reserved I have the same personality trait
love Ian's smile at the question 2:56
Thank god Ian still wants to save the world from U2 - was getting a bit worried there
No new album? Reni is a knob the other 3 are embarrassed. Great drumming kept him in
Ian Brown is a Legend.
Still waiting on the third album lads….
Never happen mate. It's done.
There's only one ian brown without him there wouldn't be stone roses jon squire seahorses no way
They will never do another album

4FS. Put a sock in it Reni !
so surreal seeing them back together, HEATON PARRRKKKKK!!!!!
These guys write the next generation of music
They are and always will be the bollocks. One love. 🍋

squire didnt age ..
i reckon they'll do alright you know!!! good luck to em!!
Still more exciting than the Oasis reunion announcement!
I still can't believe I'm seeing them in 8 days.
I can't believe 8 years ago you where seeing them in 8 days
the Mayans thought 2012 was the end....... but this proves it is The Resurrection.....
Remi an average drummer???? fucking hell love the internet. some untoward bollox spouted
4 absolute scallywags. brilliant band. still such a great groove to their music. dublin was a great gig
I caught Heaton park on the Saturday & phoenix Park on the following Thursday, fucking best wk of my life...savage Craic altogether
Reality is they reformed mainly for the millions. They had no intention of a new album.
The Stone Roses got well and truly ripped off the first time around. If anyone deserved a big payday, it was them.
@@Mrpublicimagelimited sure, all fine, but let’s be honest about it
Raveonette Agreed
Reni is such a comedian😂
I have seen them in Manchester 2012. Why did they not keep playing and writing NEW MUSIC ?
I think about how sad the (latest) break up is every few weeks.
I was at the last gig down the front row and you could just tell they had tension between all of them. he smoked like a trooper most of his life.
Notice when mani questioned about money, wipes his eye, squirms, then gets defensive it was all about the cash 💸 💰 🤑 just say it no bother
