Is there a rattling noise coming from the vents in your car or truck when you run the heat or air conditioning? In this video, Len shows you how to check out smells, noises, and other problems related to the air vents in your car or truck. Rattling noise can come from a broken blower motor cage, or debris being trapped inside it. Problems with vent speeds are probably due to a faulty blower motor resistor. Smells and other problems could be a result of a dirty or missing cabin air filter! To find out what you need to know to solve your vent problems, check out this video!

Very useful content, as always. Incidentally I'm facing a blower problem with a 2002 Honda Accord since a month ago. Sometimes there's noise coming from it. Right now there's none. From this video, I now know much better. THANK YOU!

Cabin air filter is the most ignored part of a car, you should replace it every two years for maximum benefit.

Question though what if there is a smell when it's on then goes away question 2 what if the vehicle was designed without a cabin air filter how would you fix that

My car dose not have a cabin air filter best you can doo is keep the vents up by the window where your wipers are keep those clean buy those compressed air cans and blow them into all the dash vents and do the same with the vents by your wipers.

Carful with that the vents lead right back to the heater core and evaporator that stuff could damage the metal on the evaporator and heater core

Lol mechanics always say that, if you're replacing this part then you might as well replace these parts at the same time. If you're replacing your pads you got to do your rotors, if you're doing the blower motor then you got to do the resistor and the pigtails. No, no you don't. And you shouldn't unless they need replacing. You can have a resistor fail and have a perfectly good blower motor.

I have a 2019. I don't think it should be making this sound yet. There definitely isn't a bunch of debris in it.

My Pontiac Vibe makes a ticking sound and stops when I turn it on circulate. Even if my fan is turned off it still makes that noise. What would be the cause?

Why is it when I turn it on (face only fan) the noise goes away? But when the climate control is off, the sound comes back.

What about a blower motor that works sometimes but not all the time and you have to slam the car door to get the blower motor to turn on.
