I’m a fan of the quality, but not a fan of the look. I view Patek as being the top of the food chain when it comes to watch companies-so it pains me to say that. To me-it looks like a cross between a Royal Oak and a Santos 100. It looks like a watch that was designed to be a “hype” watch more than it does a watch that was designed to be elegant that ends up being a hype watch. The fact of the matter is that it is a sport or daily wear watch that won’t be overproduced that is from a brand that has strong demand. Ugly or not, I don’t see the market for it being soft.

I wouldn't put this watch down because I care about my reputation with Patek. With that said I see many people trolling this watch. It doesn't bother me in fact if people get discouraged from buying it. This will benefit the rest of the people who want to secure one of these watches. Late adopters who only accept change when it reaches hype levels actually pay the premium for being too late into the hype, while early adopters benefit from securing their watch early on. Being a Patek, it's not a matter of whether the watch will gain value it's just a matter of when (the moment and the frequency late adopters finally change their mind and accept the design of the watch which will happen eventually).
But this is the issue, people will still buy it and hype it because it's a Patek. Just like they do with Rolex, AP etc. It's ugly as hell but it'll be a hype piece because it's Patek and any news outlet with a relationship with them will try to protect that instead of being honest, it's a lazy design.

Patek knows what it's doing very well, and since Cubitus was officially introduced, everything else in the world of watches fell into oblivion.

I made 216 Inventions, I am behind McMurtry Speirling and interior and drivetrain designer of Bugatti Tourbillon, I have 59 inventions in automotive industry, and 33 inventions in watchmaking (bronze watches, erotic watches, three brands, Robert Loomes, Nasa, Leica), I don't consider a Patek Product to be shit, Patek and Lange and Grand Seiko is second to none on the planet. The cubitus is a square design, masculine, with cut corners, I like the Gold Nomos Tetra, this is like Tetra but meatier rims. Infantery officers, mechanical engineers, tough men choose this watch. Patek is the only company with hand finish departments, 25 professions on the list wich you haven't even heard about. And I don't think you actually own a Patek.

If someone asked me who the greatest watchmakers are in the market, all considered, I'd say Patek. As mentioned, the finishing, materials, functionality is incredible, just like all of their watches. The design is lazy, pretty ugly in parts and not what I expect from Patek. I expect elegance, refinement and beauty, this is not it. For reference, before you prejudge, if I wanted a Patek I could easily own one. For me I'd happily opt for a Calatrava over this ugly ass cube.
