One of the prettiest blues .
This really isa fantastic train. We travelled between Sheffield and Bath in December 22. The breakfast was the same (i'm not a black pudding man either but I tried theirs and it was divine!) but we were treat to a delicious five Christmas dinner on the journey back. My initial thoughts were that this is one of those bucket list items you have to do once in your life. However, ;ke many of the other passengers you leave thinking about how you can travel on it again sometime in the future.
Absolutely Loved it mate! I am going on the Settle to Carlisle Pullman on April 18th! Pullman Dining! Going alone. It is gonna cost me a whopping £455! But I will love it! Thanks for the amazing Vid
Very interesting. I'm taking the Via Rail 'Canadian' across Canada (5 days/4700 km) in November. The on-board dining is said to be a highlight of the trip
I've seen the model of the original Blue Pullman and in books, magazines never ridden on it because I was in my childhood and haven't seen the HST version either hopefully one day. I enjoy watching the UA-cam video of the Midland Pullman - Class 43 HST
Aside from rail charter companies, the only train operators with HSTs are GWR and scotrail
saw this one at doncaster 20/07/24 really neat train this one
nice video of the journey mate
I Seen this being transported on the m.way today 23.5.24 it looks absolutely stunning
I remember travelling on the Blue Pullman when I was a child. No idea it was still running.
It's not - this is a fake: HST sets made to look like the original Blue Pullman's of the 1960's. Mind you, the originals had a reputation for bad riding - the HST sets probably give a much more comfortable ride. At £395 for a day in Pullman Dining they'd need to!
Average age of paying customer on the Pullman - 67
HAHA!! I know what you mean, but I guess it depends on the trips, but it may outprice others
I like the glass dividers between seating areas as anyone will agree who has suffered a 'big gob' close by.
And that's a train I would love to travel on... one day someday. It looks amazing.
I hope they continue for many years!
I hope you had good time not been able to ride I the coaches but I do drive the trains. I drove on this day did I do a good job
As That Bloke in Monty Pythons "Life of Brian" nearly said - "You lucky barstool!"
Amount of Dirty looks you were getting tho while recording🤣
I'd like to travel on that. I saw two Western Pullmans in about 1965 (I'm ancient) and used to drive 159s from Salisbury to Paignton before the route was taken away from us in 2009.
2024 tickets have been released now, deffo worth it!
Outstanding, I need to take my old mum on one. One available for me Newcastle to Bath Christmas Market. She'd love it.
Go for it!
That’s the train to the retirement home.
the Midland Pullman - Class 43 HST in TSW would be awesome
You can with livery editor 😊 well apart from the intricate design on the front
Would it not have been easier for LSL to have bought just the EMT/ EMR powercars and then GWR First Class Mk3s
They did, the coaches were never ex EMR/EMT
Wow that's a train I'm gonna check out...I liked this video yes!!!!👍😅
Thanks!! It’s a great trip
Standards of travel have declined so much on everyday trains regarding interiors of carriages seat formation, lighting and especially dining that this train seems very special now. A fantastic job done on restoring the HST set back to the original seat formation and providing a dining experience of yesteryear (not too long ago actually) Great and successful business idea from the Midland Pulman echoing the Manchester Central service.
Well said
The chap putting his feet up in the staff room buffet car was that second driver or on board maintenance engineer ?
I was on that gwr hst coming into Bristol when you were leaving temple meads 😂
NICE ONE!!! The Midland Pullman does look magnificent!!
@@TrainRealWorld I 100% agree
The coaches were never part of EMR.
They were ex GWR coaches.
I was expecting some information on booking and what the trip cost
I don’t think I talk about it, unless I do on the return. It cost me £350 each plus a surcharge to get the single table 👍🏻
@@TrainRealWorld😮 but I guess it's for the content
The Mk3's are not GWR? Would it not be more cost effective to just use GWR mk3's?
They are Ex-GWR MK3 stock. I think he was referring to the power cars being hooked up with Ex-EMR stock
I don't really believe it's still in this livery even after a year or two.
You dont think it will last longer?
Hello from two months in the future.
I've seen 43046, 055 and 059. They're all in this livery. 43049 was Swallow until quite recently, now it's MP Blue. 43058 is still in Staycation Express green/silver I think
Do Pullman trains turn into Pushman trains when they travel the opposite direction?
Get a life boy.
Good One :D
There is ttt of the kids are you still have the kids are
Translate into English please!
?
The passengers are all pensioners.
It’s a diesel, all the youngsters are too worried about global warming😂
I was on that and I am not a pensioner infact I no doubtly was the youngest passenger
they are the people with the most money to burn now
are these passengers aware there is a cost of living crisis at the moment, its i'm all right jack,
Funnily enough, that trip would cost more with normal tickets!!
Its a great trip and if you can afford it, or save up, enjoy it all :)
Or possibly saving and making sacrifices to enjoy something special 😊
passengers not allowed to lean out of the window - pathetic.
Still - long live vp power.
They don’t want anything happening…
Passengers have been killed leaning out of windows. How would you feel if having paid £350 a ticket and the thing was stopped ending your day out prematurely due to someone ignoring advice and the rules
@@andrewcowling5804 sounds like a normal day traveling trying when you put it like that.
The HSTs Are Doing An Amazing Job On The Midland Pullman 👍
They only have 1 HST. (Including the 2 power cars)
