I hope more HST sets get made into Blue Pullmans, they look amazing. Even better than the original imo
I enjoyed your vid and as a great fan of the HST it’s speed and comfort. I have had two really epic meals on trains, the first being when a soldier based in West Germany I had to go to West Berlin for a cpl of weeks to RAF Gatow. To get there you had to travel on a special military train going from West Germany to West Berlin. Used to eating army food I was shocked to find there was a restaurant car where I had a lovely meal. The second one was with an ex fiancé, the journey was on the Rhinegold travelling from Amsterdam to Munich. As we left the suburbs of Amsterdam we had a lovely breakfast. As a first class only train the seats where huge and onboard was a wine car and restaurant car so all our needs where sorted on a lovely journey travelling through West Germany
Weather not good ; lovely rake of coaches presumably these are stored during the inclement weather over the winter. 👍🏻😎
They use the Midland Pullman throughout the year. As long as they’re maintained, they should be fine with different weather 😊
Lovely cutlery stainless steel probably 18-10 looks very good quality total ambience.
Great video makes me want to book on the Pullman one day
very well presented. Thank you
Saw it at whitby had a look onboad like 5 star hotel rails fantastic train the hst 125 the best😊
It's an AMAZING trip to try and get on. Would love to try it again next year!
"The little bit extra for Dining was worth it"?? In the 2024 schedule that's £200 extra! I'm a pensioner and £200 is a LOT of money for a couple of meals. So that's £195 for First non-dining and £395 for Pullman Dining - big money for a day out. Great if you can afford it but beyond reach of the majority!
2 EX EMT Power cars and 9 EX GWR Mark 3 Coaches
Loco hauled stock, who needs Pullman dining.
Wooo
Fantastic train; I wish BR would have kept the original sets a real shame. One should have into retirement..
Yea these ex-GWR seats are comfy. They’re on the scotrail first class too! There are some that pop up on eBay too.
how much was the whole trip m8
£350 + £45 for the 2 seat table. 2024 prices are out now
How much ?
£350 and extra for the single 2 seat table. 2024 prices are £395 now

I don't understand what the fuss is about this train. Great, it's an HST 125, which is a fantastic bit of heritage, but calling it the Midland Pullman is like BMW calling that compromise of a car they produce a Mini. They're both relying on a heritage they don't possess, and there are plenty of trains providing a first class dining experience - the Master Cutler on the preserved Great Central Railway being one that immediately comes to mind. And what were we listening for as the train pulled out of the station? I could hardly hear it because the driver was taking it steady to give the passengers a comfortable ride. I'm afraid there are far better rail tours with a far more interesting mix of rolling stock and motive power, and I really can't stand pretentious food, so that sort of dining experience does nothing for me.
A Greggs pasty on the Sunderland to Middlesbrough Pacer for Mr Simon 😅
well that his several reasons you wont be travelling on it ! believe it was fully booked this year ,driver taking it steady what you on about smooth has a whistle at 125mph on the west coast line ,you talk out your ase
Slow and steady on wet rails😮

@@rich_devoto Perusal of the original menu would show that they used to serve a normal a la carte selection, not the pretentious rubbish indicated in this video.
Most boring vid ever!!!
