Thank you so much Alisa and Costi. This has helped me immensely. I am slowly unlearning everything to doing with Word of Faith/Prosperity Gospel. God has been so faithful steering me into all truth, even though it is very hard at times and humbling and I am on my own because the people I know are either family who are non believers or friends still bewitched by Word of Faith/Prosperity teachings. Thank you again.

I saw Benny Hinn live at a Jesus 19 event....I came in with a bad cold, and prayed God would heal me...I continued to feel worse and worse as the night went on. I ended up with bronchitis and pneumonia and was sick in bed for almost a month. The sickest I've ever been. I didn't understand why I didn't get healed that night, but now I'm actually glad I didn't. It made me question the "faith healers" and now I look to God for my healing, not a man

This was worth my time. Thanks to both of you for your honesty. When I was a teen, I attended a youth group meeting once, there weren’t very many people that night, so the leader thought it would be good to “invite” the Holy Spirit so that we could speak in tongues. When Alicia spoke about asking God to receive what was truly from Him, I could totally relate. I did not receive the “gift of tongues”. I hindsight, I’m so thankful for God’s protection.

The gift of tongues is real and offered today. I’m sorry it scared you, but it is biblical. As is healing. You have to take out books of the Bible to get to this conclusion.

      Greetings Tracy,
I recommend reading 1 Corinthians Chapter 14 in its entirety. In one translation Verse 2 says "For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit."
May our Father in Heaven continue to bless you on your journey of Faith.

    • @richardrice1032

Acts Chapter 2 records Apostles speaking in every language under Heaven. I'm paraphrasing here. The key phrase is "... as the Sprit enabled them". I would caution no one confuse this with the "speaking in tongues" that Paul would later address.
Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as a Helper, and Comforter.

    • @csmoviles

@@sunsunsusie we should indeed pray for spritual gifts , but the Bible tells us that each will receive a different gift. There is so much said on the gift of speaking in tongues, specifically, that those who have it should pray for the gift of interpreting them. But if there is no one to interpret , then it would be best not to use it in church.

    Bring him back!
I remember, watching Benni on the foot of my mother's bed as a child and watching him wave his hand and the entire crown falling down and men and women throwing their canes and crutches down and asking my mother,
"Mom, do you believe that's real?"
She replied, so lovingly, as she always did,
"Son, I don't know if THAT is or not but this is what I do know; through GOD, anything is possible."

Wow, this is crazy. I remember my parents took us to a live Benny Hinn event when we were super young and tbh we didn't really think about all this stuff at the time because we were just hearing the name Jesus and not much else. That's how a lot of heresy gets snuck in to so many innocent lives. They know better now but it's just what everyone was listening to at the time and we just went 🥺❤️.

This was an amazing interview. Thank you both! I'm especially glad you two broke down the issue of being "slain in the spirit" - I've experienced it myself but I now know I was not born again at the time and after the Lord saved me I began to realize those practices/occurrences weren't biblical. I agree with everything Costi said except for being slain in the Spirit. When it is authentic, it means someone encounters the weighty presence of Almighty God. I've had it happen when I am alone. It's not based on "the man" but on God's holy presence.

Faith Healing most definitely. If anyone is not already familiar with Matthew chapter 8, I recommend reading through it. Verses 5 thru 13 are about a centurion's faith.
A Roman Centurion, in charge of 100 other Roman soldiers, was quite likely the last person anyone would expect to approach Jesus and ask for healing, much less healing from a distance!

If you have the time, I’d recommend doing a podcast on theology & law in the Old Testament & New Testament.

Yes let's confront covetousness posing as faith for finances and presumption for healing not rooted in faith. Let's also not allow doubt and unbelief into our lives under the auspices of being so "careful". Let's be "continuationists" who are partnering with God for a greater outpouring of His glory in the earth. And oh BTW, that includes miracles.

Word-of-Faith or prosperity gospel? I've heard those referred to as: "Blab it, and grab it, theology".
I wonder how much they might have been preaching that stuff in the 1930's during the depression. Was it preached alot in the "roaring 20's?" It would be easy to preach when times are good for most everybody. Then, folks want to "get on the bandwagon" and get their share, too. But when the economy crashes, too many would wonder why its not working.
I suspect PROPHECY is like that, too. For instance, does it die-down and go-on-the-back-burner 2yrs. right AFTER we win a war? Does it kick into high gear as a new leader comes to power and we may be at war with country in another year?
Who might be pulling-the-strings and manipulating the public this way?
When the world didnt end in 2000 and still not in 2001, either.....things may have cooled down in 2003-2004....and then, folks started looking to "the Mayan Calender" and 2012. That, didnt happen either.

NIETHER Alisa NOR Costi have said here that God will no longer heal people or that he doesn't heal today. Reserve any criticism for what they've "actually" said. Otherwise, you're no better off than Job's friends.
On a side note: If God stated in Job's final chapter that his friends "...have not said what is right of me", then we 1)should be wary of any teacher quoting Job's friends as a way teaching us about God's nature
2)learn the gravity of the idea that it is absolutely possible to have a wrong view of God. [[e.g., Eliphaz's experience of having a message from a decieving spirit which he, of course, just had to pass along this secret, hushed, & terrifying experience onto Job as a way of rebuking him for sins he never committed!!! -- Job 4:11-21]]

If you read your Hegel you would know that not everyone who criticizes something subscribes to its absolute negation. It is obvious that those who observe errors in WoF do not wish to see anyone sick or impoverished, and suggesting so is far beyond uncharitable.
Here are just a few verses that expose the Prosperity gospel as a fraud:
      The Rich Man and Lazarus
      Luke 16:25
But Abraham answered, ‘Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things. But now he is comforted here, while you are in agony. 25 And besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that even those who wish cannot cross from here to you, nor can anyone cross from there to us.
      Luke 6:24-25
But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
      The Beatitudes
      Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the Earth.
      Matthew 5:9
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, because theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
      Colossians 3:2
Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.
      1 Peter 4:1-2
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves with the same resolve, because anyone who has suffered in his body is done with sin. 2 Consequently, he does not live out his remaining time on earth for human passions, but for the will of God. 3For you have spent enough time in the past carrying out the same desires as the Gentiles: living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and detestable idolatry.…
      2 Corinthians 5:1-3
1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.…
