  • A seller who is serious about reselling shouldn't allow their feelings to interfere with most business decisions. Of course there are exceptions here but I am focused primarily on your business financial decisions. If you are allowing your feelings to get involved into these situations you may be making mistakes along the way. Buyers are a different story. In sales, the salesman (or saleswoman) is trying to make the buyer feel good about what they are about to to buy through how you present the product to how you interact with them throughout the sales process.
Let's discuss this and your reselling Q&A on today's livestream!

I think of a quote from "The God Father II ". "It's not personal, it's business" as they were getting ready to off one of the men for setting another one up. Business is business, it's based on clear headed decisions dealing with numbers, efficiency and time management. Nothing personal, don't get caught up in drama. Be Professional.

Yes, discontinued items are a BOLO. I've played board games for quite a while and own a few discontinued board games. One of them is now worth around 200$ where it was initially 50. The

I think that it comes down to seller mentality. I see a lot of sellers within the reselling groups and at my local thrifts that literally step over dollars to pickup nickles and dimes. I sell primarily men's jeans and blazers. I know what sells and typically how fast it will go. I have no issue paying up for an item if I know I can get a $20+ profit in a few weeks. I deal in volume and I am not looking for something to sit for more 6+ months or years like other sellers. I am loosing money in those scenarios. I completely agree that seller knows their store the best but at the same time I believe that some sellers are too scared to take those chances and are looking for the sure things. If a buyer cancels they cancel. I dont sweat it. My items automatically relist on ebay and I just have to relist on the other platforms. It is just business.

I would decline the offer.. and not because of any emotional reason, but because this guy seems to be trouble and next thing he'll probably do, is find fault with the item and want a partial refund and/or negative feedback. I could turn that question around on you: Why risk your business and your good feedback by having to deal with a troublemaker buyer and spend your time dealing with the problems he may create just for you to get that sale? Is that sale that important to you?.Basically, the buyer doesn't like your shipping amount, so he's going to recoup some money out of your profit? IF the guy respected you, he would have contacted you and asked you if you would take less. Just because you're a reseller, doesn't mean you don't deserve basic respect. Go by your instinct, your gut. It's not Worth that money. Sell the product to someone who really wants it. I have been selling on eBay forever and I'm no desperado.
