    I just spoke with an ebay rep (actual english speaking rep, not outsourced foreigner) about a recent negative feedback removal request that was denied. The buyer's feedback statement was not true and the rep agreed with this and said that I didn't do anything wrong. However she said that ebay considers this the buyer's "opinion" and therefore it could not be removed. I brought up the fact that it wasn't an opinion but a blatant lie and she said that I needed to "resolve it with the buyer" but we're far beyond that point now. She also said that ebay doesn't expect sellers to have a perfect feedback rating- guess they know that its almost impossible with their flawed system.

    There should be different recipients for feedback.
    If there is a delivery problem, USPS, UPS or FedEx should get that feedback.
    If the seller shipped late or not at all, that goes to the seller.
    If the seller followed ebay policy to the letter and there was a problem, ebay gets the feedback.
    If the item arrived, as described, but didnt meet the buyers expectations, the feedback goes to the product.
    If the item was not described properly, feedback goes to seller.
    In other words, when it is out of a sellers control, feedback should be removed.

      Yes, agree! And....I'm so mad about refunds for items not showing delivered!! How is this our fault when it obviously shows that we shipped the item it is in their state or town and never shows delivered because ethe freaking postal service didn't mark it?! Ebay gives them their money back, wtheck? How is it fair that we are held responsible for the bad postal service?! Most of our items are shipped the same day they are paid, if after hours they leave us the next day!

    This is not Amazon where people can put a product review as a negative or neutral. It is our seller rating performance, not a product review. I have had eBay remove 100 percent of those when a buyer says "this product is cheap, etc"

      We finally have one that is sticking and ebay won't remove it. We've tried everything that we know so far. We've been 100 Percent Positive for 4.5 years now selling on ebay. I can't believe this is the one that is actually going to stick. It is as follows: (This punch jams every time you use it. Very disappointing as I can't been able to find another one. Having all the other letters and not rhis one is a huge problem. I'm new to eBay and don't know where I'll end up with this situation.) Now, how would you suggest we get rid of this? It's not even a negative against us. It's more their frustration than anything and of course they won't answer any of our messages and we've reached out 3 times initially and once a week since and it's been about a month. We've tried to do the request to remove and we got the form letter of course. We then called in and tried to get it removed. Appeals says to communicate with buyer. We tell them they won't answer us and well the idiotic negative feedback is still there. Really pisses me off!

    I sold a postcard that arrived damaged. The buyer provided photos, so I just refunded them the 5 dollars they spent on a postcard. I chalked it up to my less than stellar protective sleeve (I have since changed and upgraded). After getting his money back, the buyer left a nasty negative comment. I did just what you discussed: I started with the chat bot, that sent me to have a CSR call me. The first call was not successful. The second time around I had a better rep to help me and remove the feedback.

    As much as I enjoy Joe's channel, I think forcing an item on someone after a cancellation request before shipping is just setting yourself up for trouble. You are almost guaranteed to have the buyer break the item or claim it doesn't work so they can send it back at the seller's expense (and eBay will ALWAYS side with a buyer in that situation). If a buyer wants to cancel after shipping, I tell them to refuse the package and when I get it back they will get a refund minus my shipping cost (and in either situation they get their ass blocked in the future.)

      We pack and ship until the mail runs, so if someone doesn't cancel immediately it is too late in some cases for us.

      He never said he forces an item on someone or recommends doing that. He was side-stepping the issue, explaining from eBay's perspective that if they give the seller the choice to shove a sale down a buyer's throat (which IMO a seller shouldn't) then eBay shouldn't penalize the seller for exercising their option.

    That is the response on every item..it was the sellers experience. One lady had a problrm with shipping and stayed proactive..seller neg feedback not removed..my item was swapped for another violation of buyer guidelines..they said it is the buyers experience.

    23:18 its the light house affect as josh coined it or as old timers (that have been doing this 25 years) like myself we coined it the On and Off Switch when the light is not shining on your or your switched off you have little to no sales its fact eBay cycles sellers and there sales they have to with the amount of Active items compared to the low amount of buyers that ratio is WAY off 1.6 billion to 132 million those numbers have to be MUCH MUCH more closer for eBay NOT to do the light house affect and or the on off switch until that happens the light house affect and the on off switch will continue Not to mention it is summer so sales will be slower also any open returns do have an impact on seller accounts this has been documented On YT channels and Ebay Forums and Facebook groups also your Returns/Replacement Rate also has an affect i would die if i had 7 open returns

    I had a buyer that purchase a new sealed movie from me on 3/27/24. The buyer claimed that the dvd was getting stuck and not working. I asked the buyer to open a return claim 04/01/24. I didn't hear back from this buyer until 30+ days later this buyer opened a case with negative feedback. This case was closed in my favor. I received a letter from ebay stating that the case was closed and any feedback left for this transaction will be removed. Is now June 21, 2024 and I'm still waiting for the negative feedback to be removed from my account. Do you have any suggestions on how to work with ebay to get this removed? Have you ever experienced anything like this ?

      Contact eBay for Business on Facebook Messenger with a screenshot of the eBay message. That’s probably the easiest and most effective way

      Yes, they are told to side with buyers on everything if they like their job, but you might get a good rep sometimes if you are lucky.

    Good timing on this video- on ginger marvin's live last night they submitted a feedback removal and it was approved in a couple minutes right on the live. It makes me think it's still bots reading these requests but maybe they are more lenient than before?

    What about the new express payout fee of $2 instead of 1.5%? This is a new tax on sellers who want to express withdraw less than $135 at a time

    I don't think much has changed. I got a negative due to size (item didn't fit), and ebay would not remove it, saying that was the buyers experience. I just did the chat, and they refused again, I asked for a supervisor and got an email that said it was the buyers experience, blah blah blah.

      That doesn’t fall into one of the removal options given. While I don’t agree with the feedback it doesn’t violate any policy that I’m aware of which I believe is the key here.

      @@FlippinAintEasy First sentence in feedback says they will remove feedback where "Buyer is at fault". If they buy the wrong size, they are at fault.

    I'm skeptical. Yeah, but they're probably going to do what they did in the past - which is say the content of the negative feedback is all that matters, and they can't read into it further. Meaning, if a buyer asks to cancel an order and it's clear in messages they're upset that you had already given the package to the carrier when they requested it, but the feedback they leave is "I'm not happy", eBay will probably still say the feedback isn't removable since the text of it doesn't say the reason they're leaving it is because it couldn't be cancelled. I always ran into that type of issue even when they were removing feedbacks when warranted.

    It would be nice if one of the policies was to, if there is a problem with an item, require buyers to contact sellers before negative feedback can be left. I had a buyer wait 7 weeks after delivery to decide there was a problem and leave negative feedback. That was the first I heard of it. It would have been nice to be given a chance to make it right... And eBay wouldn't remove the negative feedback.

      If you click on help and contact at the top of each ebay page, that should guide you to the options. Personally, I always use the online chat.

      Just type "agent" in chat and It will say "Would like us to call you or chat?" Select which you want and they will contact you

    It’s not. Buyer said they would give me a bad review and open a dispute with their bank if I don’t give them a refund. eBay won’t remove it because it doesn’t violate their policy. Ebay hates the seller! They don’t remove negative feeback anymore.

    See that’s a bullshit policy this week I accidentally put in the wrong number and I immediately tried to cancel the bid and it said I had to contact the seller and the seller said no we don’t cancel bid sorry and then I got bit up and paid way more than I wanted to pay for an item more than it was worth in my opinion. I did not leave negative feedback, although I really would like to as a seller I don’t like leaving negative feedback in general but this is a stupid policy people make mistakes and you should be able to cancel your bid especially if it’s within 10 minutes of making the bid.

    eBay has made it to where the Customer service reps are confused or maybe the reps aren't confused at all and eBay is telling them these things ? Cute Joey has he calls him self. The hubcap man said that he was told on the phone that it doesn't matter what was said in the eBay messages . The only thing that matters is what was said in the feedback .

      I don't even take into account anything the phone reps say, ever. Almost all of them are confused. They're completely inconsistent. The last few times I called them they opened a case on the transactions without me asking them which ended up being closed in the buyer's favor. I had to go to ebay on FB to have them remove the defects which I didn't deserve. I'll never call them again for anything, they actively destroy sellers accounts with their incompetence.

      Try to trick the chat bot so you get to send a message to them, or find an old message when eBay wrote to you and reply to it, explaining your situation.. It seems since they changed to the chatbot, they got rid of the 3rd world people sitting and replying to messages. So if you get to mail them, it immediately goes to people with power. Another one is to call them and make sure you get to talk to an american supervisor. No offense but women and anyone except an american man wont work. If a npc calls you up, ask for an american supervisor. If there is no one say that you can wait for one to call you back up, say that it is extremely serious and that you have the right to ask to talk to a supervisor which you have. If you then get to talk to one, he should listen to your case and help you. Well theres two things to try. I am the same as you I dont give up when I get a negative, I fight for it like a madman. Havent lost one "fight" so far and ive probably gotten like 4 or 5 completely unfair (buyer is wrong/bad) negatives this year so far.

    I think selling on multiple platforms really helps put things in perspective. I rarely have slow day on one site busy on the other. They usually correlate. Both are busy or both or slow. I always think of my days in fastfood. You can try to predict but sometimes its just unexplainably slow and sometime you get those out of nowhere rushes. Its just the ups and downs of any business.
