If you poke plenty of holes in the bag using a bait needle then you prevent the bag popping up when it dissolves. Tank tested this multiple times and it makes a huge difference Vs not doing it

Hi Sam, I believe the reason why Alex doesn't pierce the bag is to slow the trajectory of the bag which in turn allows you to fish over softer bottoms. He also wants the rig to lift so that it presents better over softer bottoms too.

I have been wondering if you could use a Ronnie(Spinner) in a bag for better hook ratio than just the traditional Hair rig/Bolt rig set up. I have been getting done by some of the larger finickier Carp on a local spot I fish. The small ones just recklessly gobble up the bag so it’s no problem with hooking them, it’s the 20+ that seem to finesse me every time.
