    I've become a pro at belly landings, usually from taking fire rather than engine stress. I like to save my flaps for when I get lower, since the extra lift moment has sometimes saved me from crashing into a line of trees.

      Likewise! I don't know what I've bellied in more, the Mustang or the Jug at this point. Those trees can definitely get you, good advice on the flaps!

    The bailout part was the most interesting!😊

      Thanks! I got hung up a bit on that early on in sim flying, and usually stemmed from deciding too late that it was time to jump out. Gotta have enough altitude in order to pop the canopy, release your seat restraints, jump, get clear, and then open the chute.

    Engine/boost/water injection management in the P47 would be a good topic.

      He already made a video on this it’s called P47 engine management

      Got you covered there! Tomahawk Demon has it correct, that video is entitled "P-47 Engine Management, and can be found here:

    I cant get trim working at all in the P-51. Drives me crazy.

    • @DieselThunderAviation
      @DieselThunderAviation  Рік тому

      You may want to check your controls and key bindings. I don't think DCS will auto map the trim, and if I recall, tends to bind the trim hat of most sticks to the view control.
      The other thing you can do if you have that sorted out, is look at the three trim knobs on the left console under the throttle. They should move, both the knob and the index pointer, whenever you use it.

      @@DieselThunderAviation Yeah have them mapped and the trim wheels move fine. They just have no effect. The only time i've actually had them work was when I was on a multiplayer server. Just strange.

    • @DieselThunderAviation
      @DieselThunderAviation  Рік тому

      That is a bit strange. The rudder trim should cause a noticeable deflection on your slip indicator. One of my wingman in our virtual squadron mentioned that the pitch trim was not very effective when he filled all three fuel tanks. A full fuselage tank shifts the center of gravity aft, and it's harder to trim out.

      @@mdawson8931 look for an option called "easy flight" or similar, turn it off. Worked for me.
