Thanks for creating this video. I just got done changing my oil and I was looking for a better way to do it so I wouldn't have to remove the drain plug.
On a previous BMW I have stripped the drain plug and I didn't want to have that happen again so this seems like the solution.

I bought a valve as well… but the thread is so short 😮 it doesn’t feel right to install it with such a low torque spec. There’s a reason why original drain plugs count 8 turns into the drain pan.. the valve only counts 3,5.

It replaced a thick steel plug on mine, no issues following Stahlbus's directions. I did use a paint pen to mark the valve so I can see if it loosens (F1 race car style)
