An exquisitely beautiful woman. Absolutely stunningly beautiful! Not only a rare talent on the piano, not only the greatest female singer ever, but definitely one of the most beautiful ever!
Good grief,I did`not know she could play the piano as well!...However many keys did she hit in that piece?...What talent Judith has.....truly amazing. Not just a pretty face!
She studied piano and voice formally at the Melbourne Music Conservatorium (very prestigious). She refers to it in her interviews as "The Con", but it was not a con (ie swindle). She had early ambitions of singing opera. Trad jazz was her music of choice. Destiny put her with the "boys" and she was the lead singer with The Seekers and became a music legend.
I saw the Seekers in Christchurch New Zealand during the 50th Anniversary tour and they still sound like they did in the 1960's and Judith is still a fine looking lady and they appreciate the fans
You are onto something. She gives God credit for a lot in her life, not in a pushy way but just making it clear that she herself knows her gift is from Him. Her husband helped her faith grow a lot too and their faith in eternal life helped her cope with his death. In a 2010 interview she said that she could not have done this herself, that "let go and let God" has been her motto. Truly Christian people with strong faith are not usually "religious" (keeping or preaching rules), but their faith shines through in their life.
Some artists are incredibly blessed and can do it all; Judith is one of them. Brilliant. Back In those days, she even made her own clothes. So glad for UA-cam -- When at the gym on bike, instead of looking up at the politics on the TV screens, I have video clips of Judith Durham and the Seekers playing on my phone. 50 year reunion, still great!
What a musical GENIUS Judith was!! She was brilliant with her singing, her playing AND her composing!!! WOW!!! I am beyond sad that she is gone from this world, but I have no doubt she is reaping rewards and singing with the greatest voices of all time in the Heavenly Choirs!! ❤🌹❤ Rest In Peace Beautiful Soul!! 🙏🏻🌸💖 I hope to meet you some day!! 🥀🫶🏻🥰
I just love the way she giggles when she appears to play a wrong note after about 40 seconds...... charming ,absolutely charming..... what a gorgeous woman Judith is......thanks for posting this denny161853
How Amazing! She's was so talented she didn't know when to stop expanding. When she left the Seekers in the 70's, she was never heard of again until she re-emerged with the Seekers. I'm not sure the 70's would have been as kind as the 60's were to them. Their music would have been as strong as ever, but "popularity" is fickle, and like Fleetwood Mac, maybe we just appreciated them more after a 20 year hiatus. God Bless the Seekers. They were a tremendously talented group!
You say "never heard of" while she was away; although it's not to my taste, jazz aficionados say she was very good - certainly not unheard, just a different audience.
I knew Judith was a pianist as well as a singer, but footage of her playing is quite rare. She was amazingly talented at both, end of an era, which will never be repeated.
Not only is Judith Durham the greatest female vocalist with the most beautiful voice I have ever heard in my life, it is obvious from watching this she also is an exceptionally gifted pianist. “How annoying is this”, says WildRover1964. If it is not annoying, it is certainly unfair!.
She was given a gift of talent and through hard work and trials and tribulations she honed all her skills and became an all around master of her skills. She could entertain for hours on end and never disappoint. What a wonderful woman. I simply adore her. RIP sweet Judith. I will never forget you.
Judith is a generational talent; the best musician and singer that the Seekers had. This performance was probably filmed after she left the group to explore a solo career, only to rejoin 25 years later.
Never knew that she could play the piano like this ! Not enough to be the vocalist that she was well known for. I am not aware of the Seekers using a piano on any of their recordings ,though I could easily be wrong !
As far as I can see, Judith played the piano on just one Seekers recording, ‘All Over The World’. She also played piano on a couple of instrumental recordings recorded as part of the Seekers repertoire. On several other Seekers recordings, session pianists were used, but not on any of their big hits. Judith played other keyboard instruments, namely Celeste, Harmonium and Harpsicord, on several other Seekers recordings. She has also played the Autoharp on one recording, and, believe it or not, the mouth organ on another! Overall, she can play around 12 different instruments. She has played instruments on around 12 different Seekers recordings, and this of course excludes the numerous songs where she has played the tambourine. It is often said she can sing just about anything, and the same seems to go for her instrumental capabilities!
@@christopherappleby8525 "Judith played other keyboard instruments, namely Celeste, Harmonium and Harpsicord, on several other Seekers recordings" - in particular, the harpischord accompaniment to "All I Can Remember". How many of us have dreamed of spending our days "Sheltered from the world behind the ivy-covered wall" with Judith ;-) There's also the comedy performance of "Whistling Rufus" ua-cam.com/video/A8X0gZDFlN4/v-deo.html
What is she playing at the beginning before she switches to jazz? So effortless, the way her hands just glide across the keyboard, and a side of her I haven't seen before.
It isn't jazz - it's Nola, by Felix Arndt; composed in 191x - more the ragtime era, I think. (The Grieg at the start is one of the two great piano concertos, along with the Tschaik.)
Yes: "Nola", by Felix Arndt (I think I've got those spellings right). That composer survived, just, into the recording era, so there are recordings of him playing it.
This woman is absolutely amazing. Not only a great vocalist but an accomplished pianist. WOW!!!! AND THEN SHE"S GORGEOUS ON TOP OF IT ALL!!!
Just look at that smile 🤩 love you Judith 💕
An exquisitely beautiful woman. Absolutely stunningly beautiful! Not only a rare talent on the piano, not only the greatest female singer ever, but definitely one of the most beautiful ever!
Piano really was her love. Great skill.
A ridiculously talented woman. Blows the mind. Green with envy.
I had no Idea that she played piano, I just loved her for her singing, such god gifted talent, the likes of which we'll probably not see again.
Good grief,I did`not know she could play the piano as well!...However many
keys did she hit in that piece?...What talent Judith has.....truly amazing.
Not just a pretty face!
She had fun playing this.....and still to this day she has one of the most amazing voices EVER!!!!!
I think one of the most wonderful bits of this clip is her smile - both when she starts on Nola, and at the end.
Can anyone...ANYONE name a more talented woman that this treasure? Wow!
Love the happy spirit of this performance!
A lady of extreme talent, and her voice came directly from heaven.
OMG....What an amazingly talented person . She is truly a gift to the world . A BIG person in such a small a small package .
It's my understanding that Judith majored in classical piano in college! She definately was blessed with many talents!
Surely one of the best female voices to ever grace this planet..... as for the piano...woooow !!!!
I had no clue that she is a virtuoso pianist. Thank you for finding and sharing this gem.
Look out the Whistling Rufus and Sweet Adeline clips too - and with Tommy Riley. She also plays on some of their songs (piano, harpsichord, etc.).
Unreal! There is no end to this woman's talent.!Judith is unbelievable and a gift!
She plays the piano like a concert pianist - amazing talent.
Who said Judith couldn't play a musical instrument???
She studied piano and voice formally at the Melbourne Music Conservatorium (very prestigious). She refers to it in her interviews as "The Con", but it was not a con (ie swindle). Holy smoke! She is good with those nimbling fingers of her on the keyboard. Her talents untold to anyone...play on!
This lady has filled me with joy for 50 years. Thank you, Judith, and good luck on your renewed anniversary tour in the UK!!
Even her style of playing is classy. Wonderful entertainer and person.
I gave up trying to describe her greatness. I am glad she finally knows it, in a confident way.
Indeed. She is also a outstanding pianist !
I'm not a religious person but whenever I see Judith perform the phrase "God-given talent" comes into my mind.
Which god?
I agree and the Lords Prayer she sings is unbelievable
Actually, Judith had a Christian religious education when growing up.
You are onto something. She gives God credit for a lot in her life, not in a pushy way but just making it clear that she herself knows her gift is from Him. Judith Durham ,what a talent! Unbelievable! She's still just as good!

Judith continues to reveal her talents. Her singing is heaven sent. She inspires me to get through each day. Long life sweet Judith.
I had no idea Judith was such an excellent pianist. 🏴
Simply amazing, so much talent in one tiny human frame.
l think a correction is in order below .... The Seekers " are " a tremendously talented group.... And Judith " is " a God given entertainer .
Judith Durham not only has a beautiful voice, but is a very good piano player, you don't find that combination today.
Unfortunately singers are only interested in singing as their lively hood, not both.
Judith Durham singing Danny boy
Lady Gaga?
Lady Blah Blah you mean...she pales into vast insignificance compared to Ms Durham.
The most musically talented person ever!
Absolutely!!
Only an idiot would disagree with that comment!.
In terms of versatility, the only who comes near at the moment is Katice Illenyi ua-cam.com/video/6Dz9Oi2Keug/v-deo.html
Wonderful Judith! Thank you for finding this, Denny!
What an incredibly talented lady!
I just love watching Judith play ❤️❤️
My my she is good and ALWAYS HAS SMILE 😃, BEAUTIFUL 😍
She truly was a gem of an artist.
Most talented singer and performer ever!!!!!
What a musical GENIUS Judith was!! She was brilliant with her singing, her playing AND her composing!!! WOW!!! BOY is she "in her element" when she plays the fun ragtime piano. :-)
Fantastic Judith!!!....You're driving me crazy with joy, darling!...Thanks!....

Thanks for posting.
Lovely girl, sweet spirit, astonishing talent!
I hope Judith Durham lives forever

So true Frank, im speechless, just leave it at that!
My only daughter is doing her Grade 5 this year. How I wish she'll grow up to be a little like Judith.
every father in the world would say the same.
Wow, wow and wow...Judith never ceases to amaze!!
Thought she was just a singer ....WOW!
Nobody has ever said she was "just a singer".
same...shes ridiculously talented.
a little bundle of pure rich talent, xxx
Rest in Peace you beautiful woman! Loved you the moment I heard you sing.
I wonder if she knows...if she really knows...how much she is loved.
Kel Wright I suspect she has some idea.
+Kel Wright I think the number of men who would line up for her could easily form a queue a few times around the globe!
JUDITH DURHAM💖👸🌟🤩💯
Great!🎼🎵🎹🎤📀📺🎥👍👏
From Hong Kong🙋♀️🌏💝🌺🥰
Judith what a magnificent piano player move over Liberace
She was given a gift of talent and through hard work and trials and tribulations she honed all her skills and became an all around master of her skills. She could entertain for hours on end and never disappoint. What a wonderful woman. I simply adore her. RIP sweet Judith. I will never forget you.
Let's get a million views for this special lady
Love it when she smiles, especially at 1:45
Class act
Wow. Just wow!
Judith is a generational talent; the best musician and singer that the Seekers had. This performance was probably filmed after she left the group to explore a solo career, only to rejoin 25 years later.
I don't think so; she looks very young here. And with the lovely long hair. ( _Does_ anyone know when and where this was?)
Never knew that she could play the piano like this ! Not enough to be the vocalist that she was well known for. I am not aware of the Seekers using a piano on any of their recordings ,though I could easily be wrong !

Wonderful.
Love you Judith, My local radio station played Hide and Seekers as their album of the day today, they love you as well lol!
\\\grieg's Piano Concerto with a Durham twist!!
Demasiado talento en una sola persona
Wonderful. God bless her! ❤
When music and musicians where actually talented. She is a great singer and apparently piano player, top of that kind a cute too!
More than "kind a". Gorgeous. But never AFAIK made anything of it (even thought she wasn't, according to some reports).
Some people are just SO talented.
Judith unsurpassed greashious lady love you the slobs that think that their are so good today need lessons from you great lady😁😀
awesome Judith, praise the Lord Jesus Christ...
Broke the mold with her.
That kind of talent comes from God alone.
What a delight!
Brilliant!
No, It's actually Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, but it took me a while to find it in my collection......
Until the first dazzling smile - then it's Felix Arndt's "Nola".
WOW!
So cute, so talented. Sigh.
A Jamieson Smile: A loving woman, wedded young and, by the grace of God, gifted to succeed.
With loving eyes & heart,

(The Grieg at the start is one of the two great piano concertos, along with the Tschaik.)
Judith: Get well soon.
Thanks.
My Judy.
It's called "Nola". And Judy's a heroine.
Seekers are really good!
Amazing!!!!
Does any one know what the second piece Judith plays is called?
Yes: "Nola", by Felix Arndt (I think I've got those spellings right). That composer survived, just, into the recording era, so there are recordings of him playing it.
Hmmmm. No sheet music. Imagine that!
@vernonbebout
I think it is Dream of Olwen
Grieg first, then Arndt's "Nola".
What the,,,,?!?!?!?!
I never knew,,,,
Me again (Sorry) I think a popular name for it is "Asia Minor"
Wonder why the Seekers never had her play piano??
She did, on some of their tracks; just didn't make a big song and dance (!) about it. Other instruments too.
Dan Howell is shaking
FF******KKKK i cant bellieve we let olivia's death THREE DAYS LATER over shadow hers! i am so ashamed!
What an incredible talent!
