At least 16,000 people died in the March 2011 tsunami that hit Japan, and it is for these lost souls that Nobuyuki Tsujii weeps. His composition is a simple, heartfelt memorial to this great tragedy. Mr. Tsujii is a prolific composer and first rate pianist; he embodies great love, sincerity, warmth and in my personal estimation was put here on earth to remind the rest of us of what it is to be human. He is a miracle if there ever was one.
This excellent song makes me cry too, every time I hear and see this performance. As a pianist and writer, it is very touching! Real emotions! Thank you Nobuyuki !
As a professional musician and someone who has played for over 50 years, attended Berklee for 2 years and studied every creative musical genius from Bach to Billie Eilish; this guy is beyond excellent. Excellent in his writing, his expression and his execution. He moved me to tears as well.

Some of you just don't get it. Even though it isn't incredibly difficult composition it doesn't mean this piece was ordinary. This piano player can play anything you put in front of him but he created this piece in memory of a tragedy and not to awe an audience with a technical master piece. He put so much emotion into it and this was his motive. The timing, emotion, and feel are truly genius but these small yet significant facets of great piano playing are lost on those who simply would rather criticize what they do not understand.
+nv vam Perhaps I can bring this to a practical level: The Wedding March is a simple piece, and yet many brides and grooms have been so touched by the reason it is being played, they cry. Doesn't have to be complicated to have real meaning and feeling. This young gentleman has brought his heart and soul to this piece, and that is priceless!
+nv vam it's when the emotion is expressed in sounds, music and any kind of art ... that's when masterpieces like this get the chance to get to the surface :)
When you understand the context he put into this peace, it brings so much more value to this already beautifully performed music. What pure God given talent this man has. Bless each one of you reading this post. I hope you find peace in your life from your daily battles.

“A blind person quite often sees things clearer”. My mom would tell me this when I was often being stubborn. She went blind in her early 20s.
Damn. How old are you?
😔
I hope she’s doing alright. I wish the best for both of you!
vivek patil bruh he doesn’t mean 1920s
I feel you... My mom is, unfortunately, the same. This song is one of the loudest voice of a crying soul
no matter how bad your day is...watch this and you will be fine.
that's what I do whenever life gets hard🥺
Wow, what gentle and moving hands he had. Incredible talent.

That's a beautiful quote; how true.

He may be blind, yet has greater sight and vision than most will ever experience. We are thankful that he has the bravery to share his gift with others.
I respect that thought.
I think he would also not want you to be so judgemental of others.
It's not judgemental, it is the truth. Being able to share his emotions through his music is an incredible gift not many possesses. Do not see your point here honestly.
He was born blind. No judgement here
JuicemanBill
Please explain how I was being "judgemental of others".
I can't keep holding my tears. His performance is deeply emotional. 🥲❤
He is the most emotional pianist I have ever seen. Respect!!!
Admire his skills in playing a beautiful piece in piano even he can't see the world around him because his blind😢
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
To all haters, imagine being blind and then sit down in front of that many people and just get lost in your music played on one of the most beautiful instruments in the world if not the most beautiful anyone would be crying.
who the hell would be hating this there's nothing to hate unless you think there is :O
Liam Petersen
Check some of the comments dude there are plenty of people hating on it, saying it is nothing special and stuff.

His Emotion & Passion created a tsunami of emotions for me! Beautiful Performance!! 👏💯❤🙏
One of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard in my lifetime. Absolutely brilliant.
this is old but gold for me. He's blind, he was crying when he was playing, so admirable, respect him a lot. I was introduced this video by my love. she really love this performance, and I do too. great performance from a great man.
Old? This masterpiece is as fresh since the day it was first written/played. And very tearful. Very....
Nguyen phamkhoi: I never heard of a more poignant piano masterpiece. I couldn't hold back tears....
Cheese, cheddar cheese, fetta cheese, melted pizza cheese
@@yaserthe1 Kindly explain what that means? Are you comparing the piano piece with very good food? I think so.
@@vigilanterocco5831 It's *"CHEESE"*
This is a real musician who plays from his very deep soul and heart, bless him !!
agreed!
yeah agreed kudos to this guy
also what is amazing is that being blind he can play with such emotions from his heart
+Ludwig van Beethoven he is?
+Valentina G. yes he is
The lightness of touch…it was, in short, effing brilliant…
I had goosebumps while listening you can tell the emotions he has put into this
There’s an old Chinese saying, 3 min on the stage 10 years of practice off the stage
Zero Almost there, actually it’s 1 minute on stage :D 台上1分钟,台下10年工
Yup
Yes and no. If you've been playing for 10 years then youve probably done some youth stuff
Kamuii well that’s why the likes of you will never do anything significant, no offense it’s just competence require unholy amount of practice
Believe me, no one needs 10 years of practice to play that dreadful piece. It sounds like something out of a 6 year old’s piano recital.
He’s blind but he got the clearest vision. 🥺
I agree. I can see but can't play like he does.
What you said is so true. Why because he plays it from the heart.
I know there’s a
Deaf Guy too
@@patricksquire8438 honestly I would rather be a blind pianist then a deaf pianist because you could then hear your beautiful melodies and peices
@@squaisheynugget3777 Beethoven was truly a cursed man not being able to hear his brilliant works.
Thank you Nobuyuki !! You speak for all of us ----
Music is spiritual and it's nice to know he is a human with natural emotions.
He sees with his heart, and feels with his soul. Like it should be.

Beautiful words Sonya! I totally agree with you .
Makes sense
Like it should be indeed
Hello Sonya, you’ve got nice taste in music.
Well said! Thank you.

Hello Marianne, You’ve got nice taste in music.
When a musician feels raw emotion like this it connects your soul to the music

Yes👍
Thankyou MusiC good for the soul .
This excellent song makes me cry too, every time I hear and see this performance. As a pianist and writer, it is very touching! Real emotions! Thank you Nobuyuki !
Простая композиция. Сколько в ней света, смысла и доброты. Спасибо!!!
As a professional musician and someone who has played for over 50 years, attended Berklee for 2 years and studied every creative musical genius from Bach to Billie Eilish; this guy is beyond excellent. Excellent in his writing, his expression and his execution. He moved me to tears as well.
Wow
Do not include Billie Eillish as a genius. She is far from being a genius.
@@dowlernatasha1396 yes I agree. I was gonna reply the same. Its an insult to the real genius's
Hmm Billie eilish? Idk. But I think his voicing is just decent, same for the writing. Rhythm and structure are kind of 2d ngl

One of the best piano pieces I've heard in my life. Thank you brother
11K people did not like this...that’s kinda scary...
It really is. Some people will look for the bad in anything and some will look for the good.
They are UA-cam's bots actually
They were probably blind too and one of there friends recommended it to them and they missed the like. Or they are fucking stupid
@@cookiesstealer1760 yup
Or people who don't like music as a whole, which i also can't understand..
It's like rejecting a good deed or leaving a kid crying..
+nv vam Nv vam: This was an excellent comment. You are exactly correct.
+nv vam it's when the emotion is expressed in sounds, music and any kind of art ... that's when masterpieces like this get the chance to get to the surface :)
+nv vam he is also blind
Bruh you just reminded me of " Your lie in April"
Beautiful....

Adrian you should be comparing the 9k to the 292k, in order to get the proportion of people who actually decided to press either button, instead of the people who could’ve been unable or been too lazy to do it.
The ratio is roughly (292k) 32:1 versus (28mil) 3111:1
