"You're a luck man, boss!" said Capt. Ron. Your wife is absolutely beautiful, smart, witty, creative, tolerant, and the perfect life partner. Did I also mention she is an excellent and capable sailor? I don't have to tell you to count your blessings. As for stress, I'm stuck for another year (until retirement) in an extremely high pressure job with tons of responsibility that impacts the construction schedules of US Navy warships. Stress is killing me and I'm ready for it to be over. I've been married for 42 years and for the last twenty my wife's health has continued to degenerate causing her to be disabled (and we can't get her on disability). She can't go sailing with me anymore so I single hand. So think about how you've got it made and are doing what I never had the guts or partner to do. One other thing....years ago I was on a coastal sailing trip and pulled into a marina for ice and fuel. A very old couple in their eighties climbed off a sailboat is disrepair and helped me to dock. The said something that I've never forgotten....."Sail as long as you can physically can for one day you'll be old and won't be able to do it." So I'm now 65 and am telling you to enjoy your life and keep sharing it with us....you're videos help me to cope with my situation.

Hi Nikki and Jason. I’ve not watched the video yet but have already given it the thumbs up. Why you may ask. It’s the splash still picture advertising the video. Most would show skin to “entice” people to click. But you guys present immaculately dressed for a stunning photograph. Classy to the max - I love it. 💕 Who said sailing and elegance don’t go together. Your attention to detail is amazing. ❤️❤️.
Ok now I have watched the video. Very touching and beautiful. I am lost for words on your honesty and love for one another. 💕💕💕

Math & Physics apply to this story in many ways. Both sides of the equation have to be equal. Achieving BIG is not always healthy or pleasant. As a mental health professional, it is easy for me to spot the extraordinary amount of stress prolific UA-camrs experience in order to produce a product. Unfortunately many of the vloggers we love to watch will experience significant health issues r/t stress.

You 2 are able to capture such beautiful sunrises, sunsets, sky & moon shots!!!! I take lots of pictures & now I am trying to do videos. I don't go on my little boat because I don't have sea legs any more so I really enjoy all your videos. If Jason would relax & not expect to be perfect ALL the time, he could enjoy life more. No one or life it self is NOT perfect all the time, that is why the statement "Life has it's ups & downs" was coined. You do the best you know how to do & learn from everything you do. Keep doing what you have done successfully & don't keep doing the unsuccessful things that didn't go good. Keep showing all of your videos that life has to offer because you 2 are normal people enjoying your dreams.

  • @almostlindabelcher

I agree. What a beautiful video! You two are such a wonderful example of how a good marriage works. And you're so right! Challenges either bring you closer and cement your relationship more or they tear it apart. And I think it's a total choice between the two people! My husband and I have been through some serious life challenges, from huge personal loss to being homeless for a time to my now being disabled and a wheelchair user (when I wasn't when we met). And each challenge brought us closer together and cemented our relationship and strengthened our love for one another even more.
You two are beautiful. Thank you for including that last bit. Made my day! 💜☺

Jason, I’m totally impressed by your sincerity and openness regarding the strain and stress that a boat and all it’s demands can place on a relationship. To me you haven’t “dropped a bomb” with your honesty. Life, especially on a boat is unbelievably great but also challenging and not always as relaxing as some may think. You and Nikki are doing an outstanding job! Please continue to work as a team and together you guys will continue to have success!

Jason thank you for sharing the ups and downs. From my kitchen counter in Utah I sit and follow your journey...your last comments (confessions) help to highlight the challenges you and Nikki experience without all of us here in UA-camland seeing the drama unfolding. I'm glad you edit out your arguments/disagreements... but I also appreciate that you admit there are some. That makes your journey more realistic to us all. I can only speak for myself but I thank you for sharing your journey with us and wish you continued success in overcoming all your challenges. Happy Sails!

The one thing no-one ever tells you about the boating life (never as truthally as is needed) is just how tough it is. I have worked in marine industry all of my life (longer than I care to admit!) and have for the last 4 years been in charge of the motor vessel Dartmoor Castle - as I have told you before.
It isn't quite the same as the sailing life, and I have never had to deal with the whole maintenance side in quite the same way as you. But I have been responsible for the lives of 50 people, some not experienced with working at sea at all, and all of the organisation and work that goes with that. It is tough, and you will go through tougher stuff than what you have been through. Just wait for something major to break, or for the particularly nasty squall (you will know the one when it happens), it will try to break you. If you accept that, and stay the positive people you are then you will always be alright.
I can't comment on your relationship, not only because I don't want to (it's obviously none of my business), but because I have never been in the same situation personally. I have had relationships occur between people under my command, but it is fairly self explanatory. Be kind and be patient, and everything will work out fine.
And now my sad bit, I am now in a hotel in Vancouver waiting for my flight home tomorrow and my ship has left me behind - I passed off my command yesterday to my very capable replacement. So an end of an era, but I will be back! It may take 4-5 months, but I do have a new command lined up, so you may yet encounter me on the high seas!
Keep doing what you love, and I await next week's episode with great anticipation!

Absolutely beautiful video, both in content and visual appeal. Jason, thank you for letting us be your "bartender", letting us hear your confessions. What you described is a normal phase in a marriage, there will always be those times when circumstances will test your resolve, you will question your choices. However, having a strong partner, with the same vision, the same goals makes the journey worthwhile. Only the strongest marriages, with two people who not only love each other deeply, but truly respect their spouse's opinion, commitment, skills and abilities can survive the stressed circumstances of the lifestyle you and Nikki have chosen. It's very apparent that the Wynn's will prevail❤️

I've been following you guys for over two years now, and this episode really stands out from the rest. Thank you for trusting your audience to understand that the cruising life isn't just about Sundowners, awesome dives and righteous hikes. Life still happens, and it's complicated and difficult even when it's good. An outside perspective: The three-month period you are talking about I think was exacerbated by having onboard guests. It's tricky enough living on top of each other 24/7, WITH a boat and it's neverending To Do list, WITH bureaucracy and international banking snafus, WITH weather windows and tradewinds and Visa expirations to worry about... add in houseguests, nay BOATguests and it can all easily become too much. Way to go, weathering these rough waters, and I'm so happy for your return to smooth sailing. Fair winds, friends!

I am so happy to see the kitties ...oh and of course, you guys! 😅 I am watching videos in order and I have to visit the website and scroll down but can't figure out how to leave comments because it wants a website after the name and email. This (your lives) is like the best book I ever read or saw. It is a modern day techie pioneer lifestyle. ..living the way we were supposed to live. Not tethered to the ground on a hamster wheel but enjoying each other and our planet. € I used to go sailing with my Dad's friend all the time. It was really hard work. Okay, he was old and I had to learn then do it all. When things are stressfull his tone would change andhe would fuss like a 3 year old. He was like a father our good uncle to me and I learned that working together on the boat was like anything else in life...eventually some fussing. Then things get back to high hills and sunshine. I love sailing. I get get nervous as all get out during his Gulf trips and watch the button to seewhere he was and to make sure he kept the TOPSIDE up😁 It looks like I wont rest until you guys and that cat I love so much do the same. BTW, my dear friend and mentor, John Alesch, He died suddenly of a heart attack last summer.. but he was older but too soon. Do this while you can and have the health.

That was just beautiful- from the cats watching over Nicky to the food prep, the shower scene, trials to test the hatch, the dolphins & finally the most honest heart ❣ spoken words about real life sailing, stresses on a lovely marriage & the adoration you have for your wife, you two are just the real deal, down to earth nicest people.. enjoy all those great moments & look back and say we did it, it was hard but we did it.. rock on gently & fair winds.. 🙋🏼‍♀️🇦🇺

I’ve been watching your channel for many years, but I don’t think I’ve ever commented before. This video has changed that. I’ve noticed for quite sometime how much more effort goes into sailing as compared to when you RVed. I know that I couldn’t do it at my age and level of strength and the fact that I’m a solo traveler, soon to start full timing. You are both awesome people and you keep it pretty honest. Case in point, with the flat tire repair in Chicken, or your how-not-to videos. 😉 What you said about your trials recently and love for Niki made me cry. Keep on keeping on and stay strong together. Remember, no one will think less of you if you went back to RVing. Your relationship is more important. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for your candor regarding married life on a boat. You two are doing exactly what my wife and I are dreaming about; living full time on a boat and sailing the South Pacific. This video is a great conversation piece for us, thank you. Hopefully the Cook Islands are on your itinerary, we were there a few years ago and had a beautiful experience.

Couple of things. First love your videos and look forward to seeing them. Second, sailing around the Caribbean snorkeling and having fun is less stress than having to deal with other Countries and all that comes with that, it’s a lot of work. Lastly it is so important to check in with each other on a regular basis especially when traveling long distances between destinations. Your tradition of stopping everything to enjoy a sundowner together is awesome. It’s a great way to say hey we did good while enjoying your surroundings.

Jason, the way you opened up your heart towards Nikki and the last few months, was so honest, pure and raw, thank you. It does my heart good to know men like you, exist.
I think life can be stressful in whatever journey we're on these days, but, you decide how you want to let it effect you and your partner. There's so much beauty, vastness, and design out there for us to take in, when really opening our eyes, it makes our stress seem to melt away, if we let it, to see the bigger picture.

You guys make it look easy and possible, even if behind the scenes it's sometimes hard and stressful. You two are truly partners and your love and support for each other shows through brightly. Wonderful. Thank you both so much for sharing. Jason, I completely agree on all fronts. Boating takes a huge amount of work, especially at the level you are both doing it. Add in the amazing videos and complicated planning and massive learning curve you have both been on the last year and I don't know how you have done it. So glad you are both getting to have some fruits of all of that work and connecting. Terrific video - production value, content, everything. Thank you both very much for sharing.
