Today, I bring you all the next-gen, premium, and last-gen controller information on the DualSense, Xbox Series X controller, Xbox Elite Series 2, Thrustmaster eSwap Pro, DualShock 4 and Xbox One S controller that you could ever ask for. Rocket Science - considering the Thrustmaster Eswap (X) Pro controllers because of my large hands... do you think there are any major differences between an Eswap Pro with NXG S2s or an Eswap X Pro with NXG S5s when it comes to how they behave in Rocket League? Seeing as one will be basically using Ps4 firmware and the other Xbox One firmware... I thought perhaps that could still make a difference. I would like to go with the X Pro, but if it's limited or less responsive than the Pro I might change my mind.

Finally, a great in-depth review about controllers. I was tired of just finding videos about people reviewing the controllers "on the surface", but I wanted to see a scientific one that really takes out the subjectivity so I can have the most accuarate decision about getting one of those, especially for competitive games. Thank you for explaining the XBOX One controller polling rate limitation even when set to 1000hz. I've spent hours trying to see where I went wrong bc I kept setting it at 1000Hz but getting the same input lag test results over and over in XInput. I thought it had to do with an error on my part. This is a great video to actually understand how the benefits work.

OMG this video is amazing and came at just the perfect time for me. I watched it twice. Thank you.
It's a video that I imagine pro-gamers should watch too in order to remain competitive.
Personally, I've only just recently discovered Rocket League and have quite quickly come to love it and come to realize how significant this game will be in the future of e-sports. I also realize just how limited your movements are using only a keyboard. I haven't been much of a gamer in the past, but I know I want to play more Rocket League now, and I also know I need an analog controller in order to develop further as a player. In just the past few days of playing with a keyboard, I knew I was going to have to do some research to figure out what controller to get, and this video just helped me save so much time, and helped me to learn some things about controllers (like overclocking) that I probably wouldn't have ever even thought about having not watched it. So once again, thank you so much for providing that information in such great detail. I am definitely now a subscriber, and look forward to more content. Thanks again.

@@LockMatch Hey! Yes, I bought Eswap Pro X - The Xbox version. It has perfect sticks with zero stick drift even after 4 months of regular use. I also did an overclock on it, but after consulting in halfwaydeads discord server, it seems to be true that PS version overclocks better, if You care about that. I chose to go with X version so that onscreen symbols matches face button symbols on controller. I can only recommend the controller. My only gripe with it is the placement of back buttons. I was hoping to use my little finger and ring finger to be able to access all 4 of them at the same time, but that isn't confortable for me with normal sized hands. Instead I use ring finger to play around with 2 buttons on each side. With some clever rebinding I feel pretty comfortable with this setup. Recommended. :)

I wouldn't even mention them if the were just re-skinned versions of other controllers, but they do tout their version of ultra low latency technology. It would also be intriguing to see if there's truth behind their mechanical switches for the buttons on the face. I have felt them before, and it was really satisfying to feel. Hey man, I really appreciate the hard work you put into this investigation. I've used your tips in the past to reduce input lack by overclocking my ds4 controller. After moving from ps4 to my new PC I noticed a huge difference in input lag, especially because I have a 144 hz monitor. I never realized how much input lag was hurting my mechanics because it was always there, so I didn't really notice it. At that point I used your videos to minimize the input lag from all sources. Not only did I see an instant rank improvement, but training became much easier and I am improving at a much higher rate. I was hard stuck in diamond before and now I'm in the champ ranks and still doing well. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the thorough review! Do you have plans to continue adding more 3rd party controllers to your data? I know some people use Scuf, and I personally have a Razer Wolverine. Any way we can get notified if you update your data in the linked Onedrive file, or should we just keep an eye out for another video?

Cant tell you how much I appreciate what you do for this community. Ive played with xbox controllers since the game came out and never got past Champ 2 on pc. Switched to DS4 and overclocked my controller, now I hit GC after only a month of using DS4. There is so much input lag on xbox controllers, that when I switched to DS4, my timing was VERY off because the car would turn wayyy faster than I expected it to. I spent so much time with my $8000 build being bottlenecked by CONTROLLER LATENCY! WTF MICROSOFT! Idk how I was competing in C2 with that much input lag. I get stable 480fps on 12700k/2080ti and I run DS4 wireless @1000hz polling.

How long did it take you to get used to the DS4 from Xbox? Kinda feel like the Xbox controller is just not fully compatible with Rocket league.

@@astralpurpose1344 Honestly it was like a week or so of it feeling weird in my hands, (big hands Im 6'4) but I was still doing better immediately. Also, the PS5 (dualsense) controller can be set to 8000hz polling and has even lower input lag (0.0ms vs 0.3-0.5ms) than the DS4. One thing of note, I felt like the DS4 sticks had more range of motion (maybe 1/4" more travel?) than the PS5 version, but the PS5 controllers thumbsticks and the shape of the controller feel much more like the xbox controller to me if that matters you. Both are insanely better than any xbox controller. Raising your polling rate is almost as helpful as raising your frames per second. Two people of equal skill/fps are not even remotely equal if one has 250hz polling (xbox) and the other has 8000hz polling (dualsense). If you dont know, the polling rate determines how often your controller sends info to the pc. Higher polling rate means that your controller inputs will be registered way faster and way more often at 8000hz than 250hz. Meaning if we both press jump at the same time, I'll be in the air before you if my polling rate is higher. (granted your pc needs to be able to handle the polling rate and higher polling is more helpful with high fps than low fps). If you are freestyling or air dribbling, you will have more control with higher polling rate because the controller will register your adjustments much faster. Hope this helps you and anyone else that might see this. Good luck out there 🙏

@@bealight5141 hmmm thanks for the comment bro. I picked up the eswap x pro and it just feels horrible. I’m 6’3 with average hand size. I’m might try out the dualsense edge as I have so much muscle memory with the back a paddle.

Holy moly, this was amazing. I've been really considering getting the eSwap X, looks like I made a good choice! I still need to test one, because I play with a really weird grip (pinch both sticks with thumb and index, middle on bumpers, ring fingers on triggers) and have small hands, so it may not be comfortable. Right now I'm using the 2nd gen Nvidia Shield controller, I got to try it at a friend's house one day and it felt amazing with the grip that I use. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing some ridiculous stick drift (software based I think, occasionally the left stick moves full-deflection to the left. I can fix it momentarily by moving it, but within 2-5 seconds it goes back. This is not a constant problem, some times it acts up more than others. It's very bothersome, especially since that's how I use air roll) and want to get a new controller. Thanks so much for the comparison!

Any info on the new eswap X pro controller? Since it is designed for Xbox Series X, does it have the same issues the xbox controllers in your review had, or is it similar in performance to the PS4 version eswap you reviewed?

18:14 Can confirm this issue on a Xbox One controller bought during the 1st pandemic wave (march 2020), right from the get go. No use and already not a perfect recentering. However I've used it A LOT since then (thanks to ya 3 consecutive waves ;D) and it hasn't degraded further, yet. This lil' thingy aside, a very solid controller all around. Eager to see if it'll outlive my previous Xbox 360 controller (12+ years of good and hardy service).
