If I have a choice with my Germans between a truck or a Maultier I take the Maultier as the terrain restrictions that effect trucks do not effect them since the Maultier is a halftrack. But yes I absolutely need transports with my Soviet Assault Engineers as they are decked out in SN-42 body armor so they only are able to move 6" in either advance or run doesn't matter. The only time it does not take effect if you decide to assault a unit be it infantry or gun/vehicle types.

Yes halftracks does play a bit different ly to wheeled

Only to capture, any unit can contest
