I would warn to be 'careful' of parting your hair the same way all the time. You really can 'train' your hair and you have beautiful, long, HEAVY hair. The weight of your own hair can also cause problems over time and help ensure that those 'parts' become somewhat _permanent._ I liked the idea for cutting down on using heat, especially when you do have long, Low Porosity hair. I was thinking 'FOUR' too! 😊

On the UA-cam channel girlsloveyourcurls where the mother stretches her hair with African threading, she said that you should do a second round of threading to get a better stretch. After the first stretch where her hair had dried, she then oiled her hair, combed it and then rethreaded her hair. The name of the video is "Straighten 4C natural hair - no heat". I know that I wouldn't be able to comb my hair after a first stretch, but maybe even finger detangling and then banding your hair a second time would stretch your hair more.

Great video! Similar to banding, threading can give a nice stretch; have you considered that as another no-heat stretching method?

      Good evening Lavonne.
I know of African threading and I have tried it and it did not work for me. I am sure that if I practiced I would get the hang of it, but I prefer banding.

I have a TON of white hair at 39. I'm learning that high heat will turn "silver" hair yellow.

Hi Mya, great vid as always, you have the larger tub of shea moisture and it didn't seem like you use very much plus I notice once you put two or more bands on you did a brush through with the tangle teezer again, I like that because your making sure the hair is fully detangled. In the colder months do you notice you have to use more moisturising products or about the same?

      Hey Joanne! Thank you!
After doing this banding method 3x I have realized that it is imperative that my hair be detangled. The first time I did not make sure my hair was all the way detangled and when my hair dried it was a somewhat tangled. The second time banding I tried continuing to comb while banding and it made a whole of difference.
As far as the winter months, it is about the same for me. I do not find in the winter months that my hair dries out more. I have also been adding Amla to my deep conditioner and that had helped as well. I will be doing a hair update video soon !

      Thank you!
I use a soft brush I got from my local beauty supply store.
for detangling I use the thick and curly tangle teaser, however; lol the unbrush keeps popping up on my feed.
