Some good tips. But the most important thing people need to know hair goes through different phases. Hair growth is largely genetics, along with health and diet. So start with eating healthy, along with tips on taking care of your hair. And remember just because someone have long hair down their butt. Don’t mean you will too. Don’t watch other people’s hair journey. Focus on your own journey.

    • @Brandiisbeloved

hair length is not genetic. please stop implying. Hair doesn't stop growing unless something is going on with one's health therefore health length is not genetics. growth rates, density, texture yes genetics length nope not genetics.

@@Brandiisbelovedsay it again!! The whole “hair growth is genetic” mantra may have some validity but hair length is not genetic. If you are too lazy to grow your hair, say that instead. Just be gentle with your hair and eliminate the junk from your diet. It’s really not rocket science.

Honestly, I expected to click off this video, anticipating that it would be the same as every other 'grow your hair' video out there but I was thoroughly interested. I could relate to you. The way I washed my hair, the way I would leave it out to dry and then dread having to comb through it, the amount of hair I would lose in the process. I can relate so badly because this is the routine I've known since I was conscious of myself. I'm so glad you were open about it and actually told us what you did to remedy and see results. Thank you so much, I appreciate your honesty throughout the video.

Charity, I just want to encourage you. You are the only natural hair influencer with this length of hair. I've noticed the most recent trap for natural hair UA-camrs -- that silk press. One after the other has had to do a big chop and start from scratch after heat stretching the natural hair they'd worked so hard to grow. I'm on a natural journey as well and God has led me to some very important things. I trimmed last week and it looks and feels very healthy. Wish I could get my hands on your products but I'm in West Africa 😔 Anyway, I use what I can find. Like coconut oil and rice water. Thanks for the tips. And as a testimony, yes, God does care about hair. The back of my hair wasn't growing. I prayed, and now, it's about mid-back length. God bless us on our journeys!

    • @TheRebellefleur27
      @TheRebellefleur27 Рік тому

You really just have to find a salonist who truly cares or adopt a heat protectant method and do it yourself. My hair was dyed red and silk pressed and my texture remained. The colour grew out, so it's fully black now. Had a silk press last August and everything is still normal with curl pattern. Sad that they lost their texture, but being careful is key.

OMG I'm in tears. Ive been looking for someone with the same texture as my daughter that has the length we are trying to get her to.
When she was 6yrs old (6 yrs ago) her hair was mid-back and healthy. At that time I sent her and her siblings to live with their Dad and they were with him for 6 yrs. 6 months ago I drove over 1k miles to get her and my boys back from their dad and her hair was in these old box braids that I knew immediately needed to come down. While taking them down I noticed that her hair was no longer the hair she left with....it was ABOVE HER SHOULDERS😢. While living with her dad, his wife cut all her hair off.
Now I'm trying to grow her hair back to how it was. I am natural as wwll and just before I went to get them I had finally grown my hair out to midback 🎉 but upon seeing my daughters hair I decided to big chop so we could grow our hair out together. Our textures are different so what i do for my hair doesnt work and then my youngest daughter who is currently 6 has a different texture than mine and my 12yr old. So we all have different routines and products we use. My 12yr olds hair is very dense like yours with no curl pattern that I've been able to see just yet. When she was younger it was the same. Back then every week I would always wash, condition, blowdry, then style her hair. Never really did much with it just kept it simple. Currently we are doing knotless braids to put her hair away out of her sight because she's been constantly saying how its not growing it and comparing it to mine.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for sharing ❤

Wow I'm sorry your daughter had a hair setback 😔 (I was wondering why did his wife cut her hair 🤷🏾‍♀️) the good thing is she is young so her growth cycle is great (it slows down a bit as we age) but with your consistency that you used before, I'm sure her hair will flourish in no time. I think it is so sweet how you cut your hair so you two can grow it out together ❤️ that is beyond supportive so she doesn't feel like she's going through it alone. I admire that. It's heartwarming to know you guys are going through this hair journey together ❤️

OMG. Your words have inspired me to not give up. I'm nearly in tears because i miss my hair being nearly this long. I'm a straight natural no relaxer so i wear roller sets bi-weekly or a good silk press and curl for 3 to 4 weeks. Unfortunately my hair didn't like the "natural hair Life or Bandwagon" 😢 😢. So i went back to what was working when i had a hair stylist for 20 years until they retired from hair 😢 😢.
My hair was near bra length from wearing a good silk press and i had it done once a month. My hair was so healthy. I had no heat damage for the 20 years i had a hair stylist👍🏾👍🏾. Now that i've went back to being a straight natural my hair like me again 🤣 🤣. I've learned after having a hairstylist for so long that everyone hair is different and what may work for my hair or others hair may not work for my hair. My hairstylist had what i called "magic hands". Now i'm back to bouncy curls although it's about shoulder length but i'm on a new hair journey to grow it back to the length it was. It'll take some time but i've learned to enjoy this hair journey and let GOD walk me thru this one.
    *NOTE TO SELF*......
Envolve GOD in my hair care and my hair growth journey.
STAY SAFE EVERYONE. GOD BLESS US ALL 🙏🏽 🙏🏽.

Wow let me say your involving GOD in your hair advice is an answer to a prayer of mine, so I have decided to go natural but I have been thinking that it's ugly and hard, GOD has a reason he gave us this kind of hairs and he wants us to look pretty and confident in it. Wow I feel encouraged to continue and give my natural looks to GOD ❤❤

Thank you for making this channel i thank Jesus Christ for it. I’ve been following a certain 4c Hair care channel for some months now just trying to grow my hair and she had recently started discussing topics about how our hair is our literal ancestors. After feeling weird from watching that video, I had repented and unfollowed her and prayed that the Lord may continue to lead me. Just this morning, I had searched up Christian 4c hair care channels, only to find yours in the mist of other channels that were not devoted to the Lord. I am thankful that you even have your own hair care products and I’m excited to watch your content! :)

Thank you for sharing, your hair is thick and GORGEOUS!! I started my hair journey back in 2016 and I was doing the same taking all of these pictures of my progress!! In 2019, I decided to start a new journey and my advice; I create a Pinterest board of your hair journey!! Post pics of your hair progress, write out what you did, what you used etc.!! Trust when you see for yourself what helped your hair growth you'll be proud of yourself for figuring out "your own" hair and what's helped it flourish!! Ever since doing this, my hair has grown past waist-length length which it never did before!!❤
Btw, healthy diet, exercise, good water intake, scalp massages etc. make all the difference and are the first lines of defense!!❤

Such an accomplishment that you've grown your hair and are so eager to share your enthusiasm with other women while including God and religion in the process of hair growth. The natural hair community really needs you for this noble cause!

This was great. I detangle in the shower always under water. I learned to be gentle and loving to my hair. Moisturizing is the best part and YES protect those ends...😘

Yes, me too. It works well with a good slip conditioner & warm water. I have myself a sit in the shower place the water on low & take my time with each section. I have the revair & use my detangled sections to dry
In no time. Soooo much better.

Wetting ur hair in water in a spray bottle and then using ur fingers to detangle ur hair is better than hair conditioner. Always detangle ur hair by teasing it gently from the end, upward with ur comb.

Bless you. This touched me, and made me aware that we need to put God at the center of things like this, it's easy to compare our hair to other women, but if we come to God and say, "motivate/lead me to growing my hair" as maybe just a testament of staying faithful and consistent on a goal, or embracing our own beauty, I think that is the way to go.

Over the last fifteen years of being on my healthy hair journey I have been able to cut my hair extremely short and grow it past my shoulders many times, however I have never achieved my ultimate goal of tailbone length hair because I always seem to have some kind of major setback when I'm almost there. It's been frustrating, but I'm not giving up until my dream long length hair is finally reached.
One thing I'm currently struggling with is trying to accept my hair as is. I accept my hair texture when it comes to my natural curl pattern, and current hair length but what I struggle with the most is the fine texture of hair that I have and the thinning and in some places alopecia in areas around my head. Though those areas can be covered and I am gentle with those areas, and people don't notice or see them. The fact that I know they are there bothers me. I try not to let it get me down and just work with the hair that I have and love it best as I can, but it's still a deep internal struggle.
I hope I can finally reach tailbone length in the next four years by just mostly protective styling, and keeping my hair properly moisturized, cleansed, and trimmed.
And not worry about it so much, but I already have anxiety and that combined with the many setbacks over the years puts a little doubt in my head that this time won't be my moment either just like all the rest failed attempts.
However after fifteen years I've learned a few lessons, stay away from heat, only trim my ends when absolutely necessary, and don't worry so much. My hair is growing. I just have to stay consistent, wait, and be patient.

You are so right about involving God. He has been the number 1 reason ive attained growth and has guided me in how to take care of the hair He has blessed me with. So so true. I remember praying and believing that even in the little things like my frustration with my natural hair, God could and will help me. He has. And what you said about changing your mindset about your hair from "I cant do this" to "i can" is so true. And I believe it was God that helped me see that by His grace I am capable of taking care of my hair the same way all these other women do on youtube. By far this is my favorite haircare video just because you said the number one truth about caring for your hair. Involve God.
