A masterclass in geometry, as well as joinery. A delight to watch a master of his craft. Well done, Oliver!
When you are 80, like me, and you revisit this project it will bring many satisfying memories
Well done done here
I think he will also be glad to have all the video footage
@spitNsawdust I think he'll be glad to see the back of this job it's been a right "b breaker" with so limited help, however the satisfaction he will have of the finished job will be emense
How oddly satisfying is the sound of the rain on the tarpaulin at the end of the video. Lovely job, Oliver. Thanks for having us along.
You have every right to be proud of your workmanship. It’s stunning.
Absolutely beautiful work, British craftsmanship at its very best.
Love watching a real craftsman at work. Lovely work.
Superb work, Oliver, you’ve certainly excelled yourself on this job! It looks wonderful- next job the roof of the Notre Dame!😊
Such a pleasure to watch your skill and the pleasure you are getting from delivering this project. 😊
As you said Buteifull bit of work. Superb carpentry & joinery skill - a proper "craftsman" - as well as great videography & editing work. A level of care & accuracy often sadly lacking from todays tradesmen.
It's also great there are clients like yours that are prepared to pay the price for you execute & demonstrate your skill and also allow you to share it.
Please keep up the great work all the time it is viable for you.
The verandah looks so good. I honestly was not aware of just how much effort is required to build a structure like this. Can’t wait to see the completed result.
this sort of roof construction is difficult enough as it is when all the rafters are covered up and never seen again, but to do it where all the cuts are on show and joinery level of accuracy is needed is pretty darn remarkable, fair play lad!
I was closing one eye when you were videoing down the eaves cuts😂
It's looking like the biggest and most expensive piece of FURNITURE ever.....The level of detail and OCDness is a wonder to behold. 👌👌👌
This is absolutely top draw carpentry👌Hopefully shrinkage will keep to a minimum and those awesome joints will stay tight👍Doing a centralised, bastard valley rafter with the dihedral angles cut in is no mean feat👊
Bro, this is the same level of excellence you would get in a cathedral. So impressed. Thanks for sharing it with us.
You sir a a master joiner and a real pleasure to watch outstanding work
THnakyou aaron
Excellent. Lovely to see it all coming together beautifully. Well done as usual. Cheers. Jim
Magnificent work and your detail and care for it to be right is a breath of fresh air not enough of this around, bravo

Please excuse horrific spellings predictive text gone 😂😂😂
Made my head hurt trying to follow that geometry but pretty satisfying to watch it come together.
Another beautiful piece of work.
Superb work. Looks really pleasing to the eye.
Thankyou!!
Outstanding Ollie
Lovely job 👏🙌
* cripple rafters
Jack rafters are on a hip👍🏻
If you ever have another roof, sketch it out half size or whatever on a bit of ply for your angles, you can get the length to with a tiny bit of development, but I prefer direct measure on a hip from long point to corner of bird’s mouth 👍🏻
Amazing for Your first crack at it, do you have any woodworking experience? …..😜😂
Looking great mate
You joke but I've never done any roofing 🤣 helped a few times on some porches as a kiddo that's it 🤣
Cheers mate. To be fair I did have my angles from the SketchUp drawing 😄😄😄👍
@@BradshawJoinery looks fabulous regardless 👍🏻
Great work Mate will be a shame to cover some of that joinery up, have a nice day !!! 😀😀.
Amazing, impressing, extreme craftmanship
Absolutely superb Ollie. Sometimes youve got to plough on throgh. (No pun intended). Loving the vids. Looking forward to the progress on this one.cheers.

@@BradshawJoinery lol, very good. But I think it's pasture bedtime 🕺
Really outstanding my friend ! Congrats !

cracking pal 👍
Who says Trigonometry is a waste of time at school! Proper job!
yeah good at maths is a real advantage in this industry!
Very tasty...
Looks really good now all tying together. What’s going to happen the wall plates that are extending past each other I’m guessing will they get trimmed to remove the orange paint writing on the end of one of them - think one is longer than the other at the moment too. Great job overall and so interesting to watch someone else how they do it . ThAnks for the videos I look forward to the next 👍
That's absolutely 😂
Good work as always Ol just need a green man face on the beam with the red paint on.
I can think of a few (joiners)who could really fu.k this up,but only one who could do the same as you .👍
Thanks Mate, really kind of you! :)

String line meets laser level old skool meets new. Very enjoyable watching you work out the angle of dangle. ( Are we going to.see a Trend Yeti table try out on the channel or is it not your thing?)
👌💪💪
0:35 черные шурупы?! Нельзя)
Hey Ollie - lovely job buddy as always great video ... whats the make and model of your laser please - I know you have listed it before - sorry couldn't find it! Cheers Simmo
Thankyou Ben and you are very generous buddy.
I have several,
Huepar 6141g is probably the best value and nice for setting out with the rotating dial base
The one I used there is huepar so4cg great for full 360 line in any direction and close to walls.
I have similar ones in Hilti too but tend to use the Huepar at the moment
Have you got a link to the laser level?
Search Huepar 6141g of so4cg are the model numbers
👊🫡
How much harder was it to use green oak rather than say a soft wood like cedar?
How do you price a unique job like this, things like the wood getting discolored and needing a days sanding, do you have a contingency? Or is it passed onto the customer? You may have mentioned it before but, will it be left to weather or are putting on a finish?
My flabber is truly gasted……..!
Green oak is pretty easy to work as its green, thats why people like using it, when it dries out though its another story!!! they are going to sand it then put some preservative on it. im not involved but the customer doesnt want a weathered finish
I’ve been watching all of these including erecting green oak framing mind blowing Oliver hats off to ya! 💯🫵🏻 your skills are outstanding sir!
