    Vegan Jesus strikes again. Dr Gregor, thank you. Your videos, books, podcasts - heal exponentially more than any doctor ever could in his/her office. You found your calling (doctor), and you deliver in orders of magnitude.

      If you hear people talking about Vegan Jesus, "Earthling Ed" aka Ed Winters is the person people are typically talking about.

    I'd love a video on reducing picky eating. I didn't realize how important messy eating and playing with food is. My baby loves spoon feeding so I never considered letting her touch and feel the food and get dirty

    Urban tolls! What a good idea, Dr. G. I do a fair amount of walking around my city of San Francisco and I notice that most cars on the road have only one passenger --- the driver. That's unacceptable. We'll never reach our climate goals if we continue in this fashion.

    Excellent video! Thank you so much and now I’m gonna eat more broccoli. One thing I do want to point out is asthma patients gain weight because of the ongoing lack of oxygen, which causes them to have a slower metabolism. Again, losing weight helps with asthma too. So, it’s kind of catch-22. The solution is to simply get more oxygen and these suggestions certainly can help. Definitely gotta increase that cruciferous vegetable intake.

    Question: Where do you get broccoli-sprouts from. ? Do you grow Them yourself,? And how do youdo it ? in a safe Way without wrong bacteriegrowth?

    • @WeCelebrateEatingPlants
      @WeCelebrateEatingPlants 4 місяці тому

      I grow broccoli sprouts in mason jars on the counter top but if you're concerned you could try the fridge, or setting a small fridge to ideal sprouting temperature. The other thing people used to do is rinse the seeds with hydrogen peroxide before rinsing and soaking the seeds, or citric acid, to kill and or inhibit unwanted growth

    I have been struggling with AERD for over a decade, working with 3 different specialists (ENT, pulmonologist and allergist) There is mixed information on the role of salicylates in fruits and vegetables with this condition. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Everything kills us yet but I feel like health anxiety is doing the most to me, I'm a shell of the invincible person i used to think I was

    • @imthinkingthoughts

      I'm going through a similar journey at the moment (I'm on three different immunosuppressants for crohn's). One thing that helps me is that so many people out there do so many things that are suboptimal and are completely fine. Therefore one need not be perfect to have good health, infact trying to be perfect can sometimes be more harmful than being mediocre. I also remind myself that, hey, anything could happen to anyone tomorrow, so I best be thankful for the present. Taking steps to be healthy is super important, however, as you mention, health anxiety takes it way further than it should go - and I totally agree, my health anxiety was going to kill me way faster than the potential of things like microplastics in my food, so I decided there really wasn't much I could do about it, so I accepted it and moved past it. Sure hopefully I can have better control over things in the future, but for now I'll control the things I can, and accept the things I can't. I'd recommend looking into acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as potentially seeing a therapist who works with health anxiety if possible.

      @@imthinkingthoughts Ive got alopecia in my beard which is an autoimmune disease thanks to what I presume is health anxiety so I've also kind of let it go a bit cause I never knew the stress of trying to get it all right could have such a bad effect on my health, I just hope it's not a sign of like Hashimoto's or something more serious cause that would cause me to turn pretty sour I rekon lol

    So basically eat plant based (broccoli) and skip processed meats? Thats what a lot of his advice feels like. Thats not a knock against him, I just want to summarize. I would love to see a debate/conversation between him and Peter Attia. If I recall correctly, Peter has a different approach to nutrition than does Dr. Greger.

    • @joyrosaspina4317
      @joyrosaspina4317 4 місяці тому +7

      Dr. Gerger just came out with a new book in December 2023, "How not to age." The book is on evidence based nutrition. Yes, he is a whole food plant based doctor, no meat, no salt, no sugar and no oil. He does not sell anything, he does not make money off his books. Everything goes to charity. He is 100% legit. I've read all of his books and I'm 56yrs old and have been wfpb for 12 years and I don't have any medical issues and feel amazaing! I'm also a nutritionist.

    • @kst157
      @kst157 4 місяці тому +3

      Peter Attia has very limited knowledge on food & that’s why he doesn’t talk about food specifically in any detail. He’s a muscle man & knows about exercise - & relies on other experts to guide him. Peter’s not the person I’d turn to for in depth knowledge about food & diet.

    I am taking lots of fresh organic veggies, including 2+ cups/broccoli with stems to work to munch on. They keep me hydrated as well as the other benefits. 🥦🥕🫑🥒🥑🥗🫒😋
