Hello! I am trying to replace the panels on my Point Blank Alpha Elite Carrier. How did you make your hardwire panels to be custom shaped to fit your outer-carrier? Did you have to contact someone or is it a available option?
I rarely go back and look at this video, but I just did and noticed you asked a question many months ago. The company would only cookie cutter according to whatever panels I sent them. They would not custom make panels unless I went to an authorized Safariland dealer to get fitted but that would be at a regular cost.
I’ve got a set of this on the way. I see the video is from a year ago, what are your thoughts after using it for a year? Is it more comfortable and lighter than standard issue stuff? I’m really hoping that it makes my duty life more enjoyable.
The panels are definitely stiffer than traditional Kevlar body armor. But I have gotten used to it. I actually think that because they are stiffer and don’t mold to your body that well that they leave a gap and so it “breathes” a little bit easier. I only work part-time with it a couple of times a week but I think it’s still better than the level II that I was issued.
@@joseperez2372 appreciate the response. Safariland has not managed to get my armor right and has kind of dropped the ball on it. It’s been since feb and still don’t have the final fit done yet. About to just request a refund at this point.
I’m not sure if the heat dissipates better. I know that it is stiffer so it doesn’t mold to your better as traditional panels. Not sure if that makes sense but picture wearing cardboard- it doesn’t rest on your body as well as regular panels. The panels are thinner but they are harder so they don’t mold as well.
@@joseperez2372 Thanks for the info. What about mobility? Am I gonna have issues tying my shoes, or comfort issues sitting down, having gear up against it, etc... And does having hard armor with this wear differently?
@@kevinsuggs1 it's a Dyneema product, basically plastic. Dyneema stuff tend to be stiff, and pressing like Hardwire does makes it stiffer. Not much of an issue if you are wearing it overt, but if you want to run it covert (under clothing) you better get a reduced cut, or go back to kevlar.
I did not make a subsequent video. I wear it in that outer carrier from the video. The product is a little more rigid than normal body armor and it is stiff when I leave it in my trunk at cold temperatures but because I wear it in an overt carrier I don’t mind it. I’m happy overall because the thickness and weight overweight it’s stiffness.
BigEvil Tex did you buy it? To me it looks to be uncomfortable if this was under your over shirt. Does it feel like you’re wearing armor made out of a yuengling 12 pack box?
It’s pretty comfortable. It is definitely different than wearing traditional Kevlar body armor. This stuff is pressed at about 35,000 psi so all of the layers act as one layer. It’s sort of like wearing thick cardboard that doesn’t mold to your body but after a while I got used to it. The fact that it doesn’t mold to your body is probably a good thing because you get a little bit of ventilation in some areas.
Thks for video I live in the Bronx at it has become a shooting gallery!
I dig the Vid, thank you for submitting it.
Awesome freakn video bro that is EXACTLY what I was looking for and couldnt find shit on the internet! Thanx!
Thx for sharing
Good Video. Thank You! You did this review good. Who knows ..Could be a hobby.
Anyone else who found this because you were looking up Hyperline? Looks like what safelife defense made isnt that crazy new :D
Is hyperline just like this?
Who exactly did you contact? Safariland said they don't do upgrades or trade-ins.
Yes, it’s was $750 for both front and back panels.
Jose Perez do they keep your old panels?
What’s the thickness
IDF had developed a level 3 (better than 3A) bpv..... but anti trauma was really weakness of it. ...i hope nanotech afford soluces in future
does this 750 dollar deal still apply if you turn in your old body armor like you stated?
thank you
Great job from, ej

How is the heat wearing this armor? Does it not heat up as fast? Can you cool down faster?

What is 3a
Try Google to look up a better explanation. IIIA is a level of protection. IIIA protects against bigger calibers.
What’s JP Lacey’s email address?
